The inked block technique used with the First Frost technique to make a thank you card

First Frost using the ink to block technique

Today I am sharing a sweet and simple card made using the First Frost stamp set and the ink to block technique.

Making the card

You will need;
Lemon Lime Twist card base
Basic Black – 5½” by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2

I began by inking up my size ‘D clear block’ by pressing it into the Lemon Lime Twist ink pad until it was well covered. I then spritzed it with water, about 3 fine mist sprays and laid it down on the piece of Whisper White. I left it there for about a minute before lifting the block off. The block can then be cleaned with a baby wipe.

The inked block technique used with the First Frost technique to make a thank you card

The Whisper White panel was then set to one side to dry. When it was completely dry I placed the panel in the Stamparatus.

I placed the stamp onto from the First Frost stamp set onto the inked panel and picked it up on one of the plates. The stamp was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and pressed down onto the inked panel. I repeated this step 3 times as I wanted a dark black image.

The sentiment from the Needle & Thread stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Whisper White panel. The lower left corner was then rounded using the Detailed Trio Punch,

The stamped panel was added to a layer of Basic Black cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive; I had rounded the same lower left corner.

The whole piece was then added with the same glue to a Lemon Lime Twist card base. I stamped the same image in the Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the second panel of Whisper White and added it to the inside of the card.

I added a trio of Faceted Dots to complete the card front.

A really simple card using a simple technique. I hope you like it.

A tag card made using the Vibrant Vases stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Vibrant Vase Tag Card

I love that Stampin’ Up! have brought out another stamp set to work with the existing Vase Builder Punch. The stamp set is called Vibrant Vases and today I am using it without the punch.

Making the card

I stared with a strip of Whisper White cardstock 4¼” by 1⅞”. I stamped the solid vase image near the bottom in Lemon Lime Twist ink. I stamped the outline over the Lemon Lime Twist using Basic Gray ink and stamped the outline roses in the same ink.

A tag card made using the Vibrant Vases stamp set by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – the Vibrant Vases stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used to make a gorgeous tag card

The infill for the roses was stamped in Coastal Cabana ink and the leaves were added in Lemon Lime Twist. I added the sentiment from the Beauty Abounds stamp set randomly in Lemon Lime Twist ink all over the top part of the tag. I added some of the gorgeous Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green Reversible Ribbon and held it in place with a small staple.

Next I took a panel of Coastal Cabana cardstock measuring 5” by 3¼” and ran it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder. I adhered it to a panel of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock measuring 5⅛” by 3⅜” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The panel as then added to a Thick Whisper White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The tag was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Using the one of the punches from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack I punched out 3 flowers in Lemon Lime Twist and used my Paper Piercer to add some dimension to each flower and added a Glitter Enamel Dot to the centre of each flower and added them to the tag with Mini Glue Dots.

Such a sweet card, I hope you like it.

Sheltering Tree thank you card

Sheltering Tree

I saw a Youtube video recently by a demonstrator called Tina Zinck, she did a great watercolour technique using the Sheltering Tree stamp set and I couldn’t wait to try it.

Making the Sheltering Tree card

Sheltering Tree thank you card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Sheltering Tree thank you card using Stampin’ Up! product

I began by taking a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5¼” by 3½”. I took a D sized clear block and pressed the Mango Melody ink pad onto half of the block to get a good covering of ink. I did the same to the other side of the block using Lovely Lipstick ink. Using a Stampin’ Spritzer I misted the inked up block with water and placed the wet block onto the Whisper White panel and left it for a couple of minutes for the ink to transfer.

Sheltering Tree thank you card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Sheltering Tree thank you card using Stampin’ Up! product

The panel needs to dry before you can do anything else. I just set it to the side and left it but you can use your heat tool to speed the drying up. When it was completely dry I inked up the bare tree image from the Sheltering Tree stamp set with Early Espresso ink and stamped it to the left of the inked square. I also added the bird image from the High Tide stamp set in the Early Espresso ink to the top of the image.

Sheltering Tree thank you card

From the Layering Squares die set I chose a square die slightly smaller than the inked square and die cut it out with my Big Shot. I stamped the sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set in Mango Melody ink.

Sheltering Tree thank you card

I layered the Whisper White panel onto a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock measuring 5½” by 3¾” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added the whole piece to a Mango Melody card base using the same glue. I took the die cut square and placed it in the centre of the negative space with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the inside I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” and stamped the tree on the bottom right corner and added it with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

A sweet card made using the Seasoned With Kindness hostess stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Seasoned With Kindness

Today I have been using the Seasoned With Kindness stamp set to make a sweet thank you card. This is such a sweet stamp set with great images to use for 2 or 3 step stamping.

Making the Seasoned With Kindness card

I started with a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4¾” by 3⅛”. I inked up the outline pot stamp with Early Espresso ink and stamped it 3 times from left to right. I then stamped in inside of the pots using Balmy Blue ink.

Starting with the pot on the right, I stamped the outline of the plant in Pear Pizzazz ink and the inside of the plant in 2nd generation Pear Pizzazz ink. The leaves of the centre plant were stamped in Garden Green ink and the inside of the leaves in 2nd generation Garden Green. I added the flower in Lovely Lipstick ink.

The plant in the left hand pot was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and I stamped the tiny sentiment label in Granny Apple Green ink and fussy cut it out. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the bottom of the card and tied it in a bow.

I had originally planned to add this layer to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base but on reflection decided it needed something more. After trying a few different options I settled on a piece of Wood Textures dsp cut at 5⅞” by 4⅛” which I cut in half diagonally and added this to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive adding the stamped layer over top on dimensionals.

This is such a sweet card. I hope you like it.
