A bird themed thank you card made using the Birds & Branches stamp set and Birds & More dies by Stampin' Up!

Thank you birds

Today I am sharing a pretty thank you birds card featuring birds and made using the Birds & Branches stamp set and Birds & More Dies.

To recreate the thank you Birds card, you will need:

Blushing Bride card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Misty Moonlight – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded upper left corner
Flowers For Every Season – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 3¼” by 3¼”
Misty Moonlight – 3¼” by 3¼”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Scrap Whisper White

I added the piece of designer series paper (dsp) to the Misty Moonlight panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Using the same glue, I adhered the panel to the Blushing Bride card base.

Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I die cut a circle from the square of Whisper White and a slightly larger scalloped circle from the Misty Moonlight card. The branch from the Birds & Branches was stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink onto the top of the Whisper White circle and added the leaves in Just Jade ink.

I stamped the birds onto scrap Whisper White, starting with the outer image in Misty Moonlight ink, followed by the inner layer with Blushing Bride ink.

I inked up the nest with Cinnamon Cider ink and added some Early Espresso using an Early Espresso Marker and the ‘thumping technique’. You hold the marker loosely in your hand and tap the side of the maker onto the inked stamp, moving the stamp around to get a random look to the stamping. The image was then stamped onto the scrap Whisper White card.

The nest and birds were added to the card front on Dimensionals, slightly off set. The overhanging side of the circle was then trimmed off using Scissors.

I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink onto scrap Whisper White card using the liquid glue. I added a trio of 2020 – 2022 In Color Enamel Dots.

I hope you like it.

Feeling Autumnal with Lovely as a Tree

Isn’t it typical? It has been cold and wet most of the summer and as soon as I come up with a definitely autumnal card, using the fabulous Lovely As A Tree stamp set, out comes the sun and it turns lovely and hot. If I’d known that sooner……….

I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 2¾” by 2¾”, inked up the top of the tree using the So Saffron ink pad. I then took the Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Garden Green and Early Espresso Markers and added colour to the canopy of the tree using the ‘thumping technique’.  Basically you hold the marker on its side between your thumb and middle finger and thump the brush end randomly down adding spots of colour.

I used the Early Espresso Marker to colour in the trunk of the tree. When I had finished adding colour I huffed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped it down. Love the effect this technique gives, simple but gorgeous. I die cut the tree using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered it, using Tombow Liquid Adhesive, onto an Early Espresso scalloped circle die cut using the largest scalloped die from the Layered Circle Framelits.

I took a Crumb Cake card base and stamped the oak leaf image around the edge using Crumb Cake ink. I ran a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock through the Big Shot with the Seaside embossing folder (meant to use the woodgrain folder but didn’t notice that I’d got the wrong one until later!!!!) and added it to the right side of the card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive, leaving an even border around three sides.

I stamped the sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set in Early Espresso ink onto a scrap strip of So Saffron cardstock. I adhered this to the front of the embossed panel using Tombow and added thin strips of Cajun Craze and Old Olive cardstock either side of the sentiment piece.

The stamped circle was added to the front of the card, overhanging the right hand side, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The overhanging portion was then trimmed off using Scissors.
