Delicate Forest Retiform card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects featuring either the retiform or collage techniques. I have used the pretty Delicate Forest stamp set to make my card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the delicate forest retiform card, you will need:

Coastal Cabana card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Basic Black card

Using Masking Paper, I masked off the upper left corner of the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card.

I used Blending Brushes to add Boho Blue, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather ink to the exposed area. With the masking paper still in place I stamped the image from the Delicate Details stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The masking paper was then removed.

The pieces of masking paper were moved around the panel of Basic White card and the exposed areas were inked using the same three colours. The same image was stamped in each space.

The stamped panel was glued to the Basic White layer and then to the Basic Black panel. A length of checked ribbon was wrapped around the whole piece and secured it in place with Sellotape on the back.

The sentiment, from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto scrap Basic White card. It was punched out using the Hexagon Punch. I punched another label from scrap Basic Black card. I cut it in half and glued the two black pieces to the back of the Basic White label. The label was added to the card base on Dimensionals.
