Hello and welcome to the Vacation Blog Hop where we are thinking about holidays. I know many people can’t wait to start travelling again and are dreaming about where they will go first. I am going to Scotland to see my family in August, they live on the North-East coast and my card reflects the sea and coast. This is a picture of the place where my Mum and Dad are from with the ruined 14th century red sandstone castle on the cliff by the beach……. just beautiful.
Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner Pacific Point card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded upper right corner Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner – one for the inside
I began by stamping the lighthouse, from the Sailing Home stamp set in Cinnamon Cider ink onto one of the Basic White panels. I stamped the image again on a Post It Note, cut it out to use as a mask. The mask was placed over the stamped image.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Sailing Home and Arctic Bears stamp set used to make a card for the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop
The ‘cliff and beach’ image from the Arctic Bears stamp set was then stamped in Basic Gray ink. The mask was left in place and the sailing boat was added in Basic Gray ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Sailing Home and Arctic Bears stamp set used to make a card for the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop
Using a Blending Brush and a piece of ripped printer paper I added Balmy Blue ink to create a sky and Pacific Point to create the sea.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Sailing Home and Arctic Bears stamp set used to make a card for the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Kylie Bertucci Demonstrator Training Blog Hop where we are sharing the thank you cards made for our customers. You are currently with Mo Rootes from near Cambridge in the UK. This month I have made a thank you cookies card using the lovely Nothing’s Better Than stamp set. Who can resist a cookie?
To recreate the Thank you Cookies card, you will need:
Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner Early Espresso – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded upper right corner Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – rounded upper right corner Basic White – 3” by 1¾”
Taking one of the larger panels of Basic White I drew around the inside of one of the Tasteful Label Dies in the centre of the panel. This gave me a frame around which I could stamp the image.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A simple thank you card made using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set for the Kylie Bertucci Demo Blog Hop
I stamped the image of the cookie onto 2 Post It Notes and cut them out using sharp scissors. I used these as masks when stamping the images.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A simple thank you card made using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set for the Kylie Bertucci Demo Blog Hop
Using Early Espresso ink, I stamped the first cookie. I placed a mask over the stamped image and stamped again in 2nd generation Early Espresso ink. I continued stamping and masking around the pencil shape.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A simple thank you card made using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set for the Kylie Bertucci Demo Blog Hop
Using the in-fill stamp I coloured the images in 1st and 2nd generation Crumb Cake ink, masking in the same way. The stamped panel was added to the Crumb Cake card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The same glue was used to add the panel to the Crumb Cake card base.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A simple thank you card made using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set for the Kylie Bertucci Demo Blog Hop
The sentiment from Ornate Thanks stamp set.was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto the smaller Basic White panel and die cut it out using the same die from the Tasteful Labels Dies. Tis was added to the stamped panel on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com -A simple thank you card made using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set for the Kylie Bertucci Demo Blog Hop
I completed the card by adding a trio of Champagne Rhinestones.

Today I am sharing a card made for the latest team challenge – the theme is the retiring list. It will come as no surprise to those of you who know me that I have chosen the Lovely As A Tree stamp set. This was the first stamp set I bought and I have used it many, many times.
To Recreate the Lovely As a tree card you will need;
Lovely Lipstick card base – rounded upper right corner
Basic Black 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Wood Textures dsp 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside – rounded upper right corner
Basic Black – 1⅛” by ¼”
Wood Textures dsp 6” by ¼” x 2
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
I masked off an area of the Wood Textures dsp using Postit Notes. I opened the Daffodil Delight ink pad and pressed it onto a clear block and added a drop of glycerine. I mixed the ink and the glycerine together with a Sponge Dauber; I find the ink goes onto the paper much more smoothly with the addition of the glycerine.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
Starting off the dsp I sponged the ink onto the masked off area and repeated the same steps with the Grapefruit Grove ink and the Lovely Lipstick ink. I overlapped the inks to help with the blending.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
I love peeling away the Postit’s and revealing the inked area – always a real WOW.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
I used the Stamparatus to stamp the gorgeous ‘pine tree’ from the Lovely As A Tree Stamp set. I knew I wanted a really dark image and it is much easier to achieve this with the Stamparatus as you can re-stamp the image as often as you need to.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
The stamped layer was then added to the Basic Black panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greeting stamp set was stamped in Versamark onto the strip of Basic Black cardstock, covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. The strip was glued to the stamped panel with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the over-hanging edges trimmed off.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
The whole panel was added to the Lovely Lipstick card base on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
I added a Linen Thread bow to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot and finished off with a scattering of Iridescent Sequins.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
I glued a strip of the Wood Texture dsp to the inside panel and to the front of the envelope.
www.crafty-rootes.com -Lovely As A Tree form the retiring list used with the masking technique
Love the inked effect on the Wood Textures dsp, I hope you like it.
