Quirky Quilted Christmas Trees

I have been using the Christmas Quilt stamp set today to make a last minute Christmas card.

I stamped the tiny patterned triangles using Old Olive ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock then added the solid triangles using the Cherry Cobbler ink pad before die cutting the ‘tree’ shape using the Quilt Builder Dies. I also die cut a ‘tree’ in Old Olive using one of the patterns from the Merry Little Christmas DSP .

I die cut a stitched oval using the Layering Oval Framelits from scrap Whisper White cardstock and mounted it onto a scalloped oval die cut from the same set using Lemon Lime Twist cardstock using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

I added the old olive tree to the right side of the oval with Tombow and the stamped tree to the left side of the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals after adding the tree stand in Chocolate Chip ink.

Taking the ‘stitched triangle’ image I stamped in Old Olive ink all over a Cherry Cobbler card base to add some texture to the card. I inked up part of the sentiment from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set using an Old Olive Marker – a great option if you only want some of the words, and stamped it onto a ¼” strip of Whisper White and added it to the card front with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The oval topper was then added on Stampin’ Dimensionals. A bow made from ⅛” Gold Metallic Ribbon was added to the top of the oval using a Mini Glue Dot.

Cookie Cutter Baby

I have another Cookie Cutter Christmas card for you today……………. but it’s not a card for Christmas. A friend asked if I would make a new baby card for her niece who is due to have a baby boy any day now and this is what I came up with.

I started with a Whisper White panel which I stamped using the textured background stamp from the You’ve Got This stamp set in Crumb Cake ink. This is such a useful stamp for adding the illusion of dimension without any of the bulk. I stamped the little Inuit baby from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set using Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and coloured it with Pool Party, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake markers before punching it out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. The Sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp set was stamped in Pool Party ink as were the scattering of stars from the Forever Evergreen stamp set. I rounded the top right hand corner with the Project Life Corner Rounder before adding the panel to a layer of Pool Party cardstock with the same rounded corner. The whole piece was then added to a Crumb Cake card base. Gorgeous and luckily my friend loved it……..

While I had the set out I also made a baby girl version to add to my stash.

I stamped the little Inuit again using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with Pink Pirouette, Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate markers before punching her out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I painted a light wash on the Whisper White background panel using a Smoky Slate inkpad and an aquapainter. This adds additional texture to the background. I placed the punched piece on top using dimensionals and stamped some stars from the Forever Evergreen stamp set in Pink Pirouette Ink. I wrapped some pink and white Baker’s Twine from my stash near the bottom of the panel before stamping the sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp set in Pink Pirouette ink. I layered this piece onto a panel of Smoky Slate cardstock rounding all 4 corners of both layers with the Project Life Corner Rounder. I added the panel to a Pink Pirouette card base. Such a sweet card.

Cookie Cutter Gingerbread Family

I have been making some Christmas cards recently and I thought I would share a couple of them with you today. I used the, oh so popular, Cookie Cutter Christmas and the gorgeous gingerbread man.

I stamped 3 gingerbread men in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and punched them out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I dressed them up with bows in Real Red and So Saffron and a bow-tie in Soft Sky ink stamped onto Soft Sky cardstock and added them to a Whisper White layer with Dimensionals. I added the tiny snowflake from the Star of Light stamp set. The sentiment, from the Stitched With Cheer stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso and die cut with the Big Shot using the Bunch of Banners framelit dies. The upper right corner of the Whisper White piece was rounded using a We R Memory Keepers ½” corner rounder and added to a panel of Soft Sky cardstock, which also had a rounded corner. The whole piece was added to Thick Whisper White card base, yes I also rounded the top right corner and to finished I added a Basic Rhinestone to each of the little girl’s hair bows. Such a charming card.

For the second card I stamped the gingerbread people in Early Espresso onto Whisper White cardstock and punched them out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I stamped the large splatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Pool Party ink onto a panel of Whisper White, I think it looks a little like a map….. and added the gingerbread people either side. I mounted the piece onto a panel of Pool Party cardstock and added it using Tombow to a Thick Whisper White card base. I rounded the upper right and lower left corners of all the pieces using the Project Life Corner Rounder. As a final touch I added a Red Glimmer paper bow and buttons for the bit of sparkle. The sentiment comes from the retired set Festival of Trees and was stamped in Pool Party ink. Love it

Cookie Cutter Christmas Class

October went by so quickly I forgot to show the projects the ladies made during the October classes. We used the fabulous Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and the co-ordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. This bundle has turned out to be so popular.

For the first card we stamped the sweet little Rudolph image using Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. We rounded the top right corner using the Project Life Corner Rounder. The panel was then added to a Real Red cardstock layer with a rounded upper right corner and the whole piece added to a Thick Whisper White card base. A piece of retired Bermuda Bay dsp was added – you could use the current Brights Designer Paper Stack – to the front of the card. We stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Real Red ink onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock and added this onto the Bermuda Bay piece. The Rudolph image was stamped again in Crumb Cake onto a scrap of Whisper White and punched using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch along with the small bow which was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and added using Tombow adhesive. The Gold Wink of Stella Pen gave Rudolph shimmery antlers and we gave him a Red Glimmer red nose. A small Red Glimmer star was punched out using the Star Confetti Punch and added to the sentiment.

For the second card we embossed a piece of Real Red Cardstock using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder, this gives such a cool 3D effect, gorgeous. The gingerbread people were stamped in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and punched out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. We stamped the bows in Real Red and Bermuda Bay onto scraps of Whisper White before punching. 2 of the punched Red Glimmer stars were added as buttons to the Crumb Cake image. The gingerbread people were added to a Delicate White Doily. The sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto Whisper White cardstock and added to the bottom of the card…….gorgeous.

The 3^rd project is a hanging gift card holder which will look great on the Christmas Tree. The gift card is die cut using the Gift Card Envelope Framelit and the Big Shot. We stamped all over the die cut piece using the snowflake stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set and 2^nd generation Bermuda Bay ink. The Santa image was stamped in Archival Basic Black ink and coloured in using Real Red, Blushing Bride and Basic Black markers. The buckle was added with the Gold Wink of Stella Pen before punching out the image with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. We die cut a circle from Pool Party Cardstock and a scalloped circle from Real Red cardstock using the Layered Circle Dies. The Pool Party circle was stamped with 2^nd generation Bermuda Bay ink before adding to the Real Red layer and the santa added with dimensionals. The Top flap of the gift card holder was punched with the ¼” Hand Held Punch, Linen Thread looped though with a strip of Gold Sequin Trim added for a bit of bling. We added a strip of retired gold washi tape and some punched Red Glimmer stars.
