Abstract Impressions makes a sweet row of flowers

Abstract Impressions – Row of Flowers

Today I am sharing a pretty card featuring a row of flowers made using the Abstract Impressions stamp set.

Making the Row of Flowers card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4⅛” by 2⅝” and added it  the middle of a Thick Whisper White card base with some temporary adhesive. I inked up the broader spiky leaves in Mint Macaron ink, stamped off the 1st generation onto my Grid Paper before stamping onto the Thick Whisper White card base/Whisper White panel. I repeated this step stamping the leaves across the whole card front. I inked up the thinner leaves in Mint Macaron ink and stamped it on top of the previously stamped leaves,

I lifted the Whisper White panel away from the Thick Whisper White card base. I inked up the solid flower with Berry Burst ink, stamped off the 1st generation then stamped onto the Whisper White panel. I added the more detailed stamp in full strength Berry Burst ink. I added a few solid small flowers in 2nd generation Berry Burst to fill in some of the gaps.

I wrapped a strip of Berry Burst ½” Finely Woven Ribbon around the bottom of the stamped panel securing it on the back with Sellotape. I then added the stamped panel to a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock 4¼” by 2¾” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This piece was then added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To complete the card I added a Berry Burst bow using Mini Glue Dots.

This is such a sweet, pretty card. I hope you like it.

Abstract Impressions fun fold card

Abstract Impressions for a Double Z Fold card

Today I am sharing a sweet card I made for a friends special birthday using the Abstract Impressions stamp set. I really love this stamp set, it Is so pretty and extremely versatile.

Making the Abstract Impressions card

I started with 2 pieces of Thick Whisper White cardstock, one measuring 11” by 5½”, the other 9¼” by 4¼”. I scored both of these panels on the long sides at 2¾” by 5½”. I rounded some of the corners of the smaller Thick Whisper White panel with the Detailed Trio Punch. I chose 2 patterns from the gorgeous Garden Impressions 6” x 6” dsp, one piece was cut at 5¼” by 5¼” and 2 pieces at 5¼” by 2½” and glued them to the larger piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock.

I cut 3 pieces of Mint Macaron cardstock, one at 4⅛” by 3½” and two more at 4⅛” by 2⅝”, rounded the same corners and adhered these to the smaller Thick Whisper White cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I cut 3 panels of Whisper White cardstock, one at 4” by 4” and the other two at 4” by 2½” and stamped them with images from the Abstract Impressions.

I used Mint Macaron ink and Shaded Spruce ink for the leaves and 1st & 2nd generation Powder Pink ink, Calypso Coral ink and Melon Mambo ink for the flowers. I love the depth the multiple layer stamping gives to the flowers.

I die cut the numbers 6 & 0, three times each from Mint Macaron cardstock using the sadly retired Large Numbers dies and glued them one on top of the other  using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive making each number thicker. These were added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink onto a ¼” strip of Whisper White cardstock and cut the ends into flags. I added the sentiment over the numbers with glue. To finish the card I scattered some Faceted Dots.

I made an envelope using the Envelope Punch Board and some retired dsp. I hope my friend likes her card.

Thank you card made using the Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature's Roots dies by Stampin' Up!

Rooted in Nature with Tree Rings

Today I am sharing a card I made using the lovely new Rooted In Nature stamp set and the co-ordinating Nature’s Roots dies.

Thank you card made using the Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature's Roots dies by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – Rooted in Nature thank you card

I inked up the large Tree Rings background stamp with Soft Suede ink, I always find in easier with the larger stamps to lay them face up on my stamping surface before inking them up and laying the cardstock on top.  I used Crumb Cake cardstock 4⅜” by 3″ for this card and used a scrap piece of printer paper to lay over the top and rubbed to make sure the ink transfer evenly.  I think the result looks great and adds lovely texture to the card. I mounted this panel onto a layer of Soft Suede cardstock 4½” by 3⅛”.

Taking the ‘pine tree’ stamp I placed it on a C block and inked up the tree canopy using my Granny Apple Green ink pad. I inked the trunk of the tree using a Soft Suede Marker Pen and using a Shaded Spruce Marker Pen I coloured in small areas of the tree canopy. I huffed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped it down onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3½” by 2½” and die cut it out using the Nature’s Roots Framelit Dies and my Big Shot.

I die cut a Petal Pink circle using the Layering Circle Dies. I added this to the bottom of the stamped panel with Tombow Liquid Adhesive and trimmed off the excess. I added the off cut piece from the Petal Pink circle to the back of the stamped panel to add a little more interest.

I added this whole panel to the front of a Granny Apple Green card base (love this colour) using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The tree was then added to the Petal Pink semi-circle on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Abstract Impressions stamp set in Soft Suede ink at the bottom of the card front. I am really happy with the way this card looks. Hope you like it!
