A sketch challenge for the Stamp 'n Hop Blog Hop using the fox image from the Stylish Sketches stamp set

Painted Fox for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop blog hop where we are sharing projects inspired by a sketch. I have chosen to make a painted fox card using a stamp set available for free with a £45 order from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the painted fox card, you will need:

Starry Sky card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Garden Green card – 5⅝” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Ringed With Love dsp – 3 ½” by 2”
Ringed With Love dsp – 3⅛” by 3⅛” x 2
Basic White card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Basic White card – ⅜” strip

I began by gluing the 3 panels of Ringed With Love designer series paper to the 5⅜” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This panel was then embossed using the Painted Textures Embossing Folder, doesn’t it look great?

The embossed panel was then glued to the Garden Green layer and then to the Starry Sky layer using the same liquid glue.

The stitched circle was lying on my desk, left over from another project and had been die cut, using the Stylish Shapes Dies and a 3¼” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card. I placed the circle into my Stampartus, placed the fox, from the Stylish Sketches stamp set onto the circle and picked it up with the door.

I inked the grass using a Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker and the fox using a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker. I huffed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and stamped down on the circle. I repeated the re-inking to get a darker image. I used a water Painter to blend out the ink n the fox and set it to dry.

Pot of Daisies for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we have a sketch challenge and I have chosen to make a pot of daisies card using the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the pot of daisies card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Friendly Hello dsp – 5⅞” by 2”
Mossy Meadow card – 5⅞” by ⅜”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 1¾”
Mossy Meadow card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 2¾” by 2¾”
Basic White card – ¼” strip

I adhered the piece of Friendly Hello dsp to the bottom of the Thick Basic White card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A beautiful watercoloured, sending hugs card made using the Batik Beauty stamp set Stampin’ Up! products

Next, I added Pale Papaya ink to the small panel of Basic White using a Blending Brush. I had tried a panel of Pale Papaya but the colour was too bright and I wanted something more muted. However, I felt the inked panel was to wishy-washy so I ended up stamping the group of daisies across the inked panel in 2nd generation Pale Papaya ink. I liked this as it gave the subtle texture I was looking for. The panel was then adhered above the dsp panel leaving about ¼” between the two pieces. The strip of Mossy Meadow card was adhered down to cover the edges of both the dsp and the inked panel.

The flowerpot from the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set was stamped on the square of Basic White card in Mossy Meadow ink and the group of daisies added in Basic Gray ink.  I used the Pale Papaya Blends Markers to colour in the daisies and So Saffron for the flower centres.
