Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects with a vintage theme. I have to say ‘vintage’ is way out of my comfort zone so this was quite a challenge for me.
To recreate the vintage harvest card, you will need:
Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Very Vanilla card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Blushing Bride card – 5¼” by 3½” Very Vanilla card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside Scrap Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Soft Suede & Early Espresso
Using one of the images from the Natural Textures stamp set, I stamped all over the panel of Blushing Bride in Blushing Bride ink to give a subtle texture. I then tore down the right side of the panel. I used a Dauber to Crumb Cake ink around the edge of the piece.
I tore the edge of the smaller Very Vanilla piece and inked along the torn edge with the same ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Harvest Dies used to make a pretty vintage style card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop
I wrapped a length of Lace Trim around the Blushing Bride panel and added it to the Very Vanilla piece. The whole panel was added to the Crumb Cake card base. I inked around that as well with the Crumb Cake ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Harvest Dies used to make a pretty vintage style card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop
Using the Harvest Dies, I die cut the stems and flowers from scrap Soft Suede and Early Espresso card. I though the flowerhead was too dark so die cut it again from Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla card……….couldn’t make my mind up which I would like better. I used the speckle image from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set to stamp on the potential flowerheads with Soft Suede ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Harvest Dies used to make a pretty vintage style card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop
The Soft Suede stems were added to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added the Early Espresso stems with Mini Dimensionals. I added the Blushing Bride flowerhead, then decided I liked the Very Vanilla so I added it on top, on Dimensionals, but slightly offset so that you see both. How’s that for indecision……….
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Harvest Dies used to make a pretty vintage style card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop
The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink on scrap Very Vanilla card and die cut using a label from the Harvest dies. It was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

A bow made from the Lace Trim and a scattering of Brushed Metallic Dots completed the card.
Actually, I really like it and I hope you do also.
Please hop on to share what my fellow demos have been creating.

The card I am sharing today happened by complete chance. I had a piece of cardstock lying on my desk, the negative piece left over when I die cut one of the gorgeous Detailed Bands and I thought I would try to make something using it.
To recreate the Detailed Bands and Band Together card you will need:
Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded lower right corner Whisper White – 4⅛” by 1⅞” Poppy Parade – 4⅛” by ½” x 2
Using Crumb Cake ink I randomly stamped the large flower onto the Crumb Cake card front.
www.crafty-rootes.com – a pretty celebration card made using the Band Together stamp set and Detailed Bands dies
Using the negative die cut strip as a stencil and a a piece of Sponge I added Petal Pink ink to the smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock.
www.crafty-rootes.com – a pretty celebration card made using the Band Together stamp set and Detailed Bands dies
Leaving the stencil in position I placed the panel into the Stamparatus and positioned the detailed metal die face down on top, I added a second foam piece to raise up the panel. I added some temporary adhesive to the back of the die and closed the hinged panel picking up the die. I inked the die with Poppy Parade ink and stamped it down.
www.crafty-rootes.com – a pretty celebration card made using the Band Together stamp set and Detailed Bands dies
I loved the vintage, shabby chic look. I did stamp the image twice. I removed the panel from the Stamparatus and stamped the sentiment with Poppy Parade in the middle.
www.crafty-rootes.com – a pretty celebration card made using the Band Together stamp set and Detailed Bands dies
The Poppy Parade strips were added to the top and bottom of the inked panel and adhered to the card base using Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – a pretty celebration card made using the Band Together stamp set and Detailed Bands dies
I stamped the flower in Poppy Parade ink onto the remaining panel of Whisper White and glued it inside the card. The same image and ink were used to decorate the envelope. A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the card front to complete the card.
I hope you like it.
