The Beautiful Balloons stamp set and dies by Stampin' Up! used to make a bunting and balloons themed card suitable for a boy

Bunting and Balloon card for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are sharing Pre-order product. I have used the lovely Beautiful Balloons stamp set and co-ordinating Beautiful Balloons Dies to make a great bunting and balloon card which could be used for a boy.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the bunting and balloon card, you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Starry Sky card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 2¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White card

Using Soft Sea Foam ink, I randomly stamped the string of bunting down the panel of 5¼” by 3½” Basic White card. I repeated this step using Balmy Blue ink. The panel was then glued to the Starry Sky panel and then to the Soft Sea Foam card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

A masculine card made using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies

Garage Gears for a masculine card

Today I am sharing a masculine card made using the Garage Gears dies and the Geared Up Garage stamp set. Many of us find masculine cards a challenge but this set makes it easy to make great cards for the men in your life.

Making the Garage Gears card

You will need;
Cherry Cobbler card base
Whisper White cardstock – 5⅝” by 3⅞” x 2
Basic Black 4” by 3”
Silver Foil scrap
Bermuda Bay 2” by 1½”
Whisper White strip 3½” by ½”

I began by die cutting the large group of cogs and gears using the Big Shot and the Garage Gears dies. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to add these to one of the Whisper White panels. This panel was added to the Cherry Cobbler card Base with the same adhesive.

A masculine card made using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies

www.crafty-rootes.com – a masculine card made using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies by Stampin’ Up

I stamped the tool box using the Stamparatus, Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the Bermuda Bay cardstock. I wanted to get a really intense black image and the Stamparatus usually works best as you can stamp repeatedly in the same spot. The image was then die cut using the Big Shot and the same die set. It was added to the Whisper White panel on Dimensionals.

A watercolor male birthday card made using the Sale-a-Bration stamp set By the Bay

By the Bay for a Masculine Birthday card

Today I am sharing the card I made for my husband’s birthday. I used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set called By the Bay which has some lovely pencil style sketches on a seaside theme.

Making the By the Bay card

I started with a card base of Balmy Blue cardstock 8” by 7 ½” and scored it at 4” on the long side to make a long thin card.

A watercolor male birthday card made using the Sale-a-Bration stamp set By the Bay

www.crafty-rootes.com – A masculine birthday card made using the By the Bay stamp set

I cut a piece of Watercolor Paper 5¼” by 2” and inserted it into my Stamparatus. I placed the image of the group of seabirds onto the Water color Paper, closed the panel of the Stamparatus to pick up the stamp. I then inked the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it down. Using the Stamparatus gives me the chance to re-stamp the image if it isn’t dark enough. I moved the stamp along the panel to give a row of birds and set it aside to dry.

A Valentine card made for my husband using the Rooted In Nature stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Rooted In Nature non-traditional Valentine Card

Today I am sharing the Valentine’s card I made for my husband. It is a non-traditional valentine card as he would hate a lovey dovey, hearts and flowers card.  I used the Rooted In Nature stamp set to make a card featuring leaves and nature which he loves.

Making the non-traditional Valentine card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅞” by 2⅛”. I selected a variety of leaves from the Rooted In Nature stamp set and chose a variety of green inks with which to stamp them, starting with the largest images and filling up the space with the smaller leaves. The inks I used were Shaded Spruce, Old olive, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam, I deliberately overlapped some of the images to give a fuller look.

When the ink was dry I rubbed over the panel with my Embossing Buddy before stamping one of the images again in Versamark ink. I covered the panel with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool. So pretty….

I cut a panel of Shaded Spruce at 5⅞” by 2⅜”and adhered it to the back of the stamped and embossed layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I cut a piece of Gold Foil at 5⅞” by ½” and added it to the right hand side of the panel before adhering the whole piece to a Soft Sea Foam card base.

I cut a strip of Vellum 2⅛ by 1” and stamped the word YOU from the Well Said stamp set in Versamark ink, covered it with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. I die cut the word LOVE from a scrap of Shaded Spruce cardstock using the Well Written framelit dies and my Big Shot. I added the die cut to the vellum using tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added the vellum panel to the card front with tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive hidden behind the words.

I am really happy with this non-traditional Valentine card and I am sure my husband will like it too.
