Ombre Ties

Here is a sweet and simple masculine ombre ties card made using the Handsomely Suited stamp set and some of the lovely Oh So Ombre dsp available as one of the free choices with a £45 order from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

To recreate the Ombre Ties card, you will need:

Night of Navy – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Oh So Ombre dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Scrap Night of Navy

Using the pair of ties from the Handsomely Suited stamp set and Night of Navy ink I stamped the ties onto the panel of Oh So Ombre dsp.

I started stamping in the upper left corner, alternating the ties down to the right-hand bottom corner. I then infilled the blanks with the same images.

I managed to smudge one of the images in the upper left corner and decided to cover the damage with my sentiment.

Using the Night of Navy Twine I wrapped it 3 times around the dsp, securing it on the back with Sellotape. The panel was adhered to the Night of Navy panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Using the same glue I attached the panel to the Bermuda Bay card base.

Using the Stamparatus I lined up the ‘outer’ lighthouse image and stamped it in Night of Navy ink. The ‘inner’ lighthouse image was then stamped overtop in Pacific Point ink using the Stamparatus. The Stamparatus is fantastic for lining up these tricky images.

I punched a 1” circle using a punch and placed it over the stamped sun to act as a mask. Using one of the fabulous new Blending Brushes – coming in the new January – June 2021 catalogue – I applied Balmy Blue ink to the background. The mask was then removed and the seagulls from the Sailing Home stamp set were stamped in Basic Gray ink. I also stamped some seagulls at the top of the card front.

A Good Man and Mountain Air stamp sets used to make a lovely masculine birthday card

Good Man

Today I am sharing a card made for my son in law Dom’s birthday. He and my daughter are lucky enough to live on the edge of the Peak District in the UK and they love to get out to walk or climb as often as possible. I have used the stamp set called A Good Man and teamed it up with my favourite Mountain Air stamp set.

To recreate the Good Man card, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Misty Moonlight – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner x 2
Whisper White ¼” strip

I started by stamping the man in the deckchair using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped it again onto a large Post It note and cut it out using scissors. I wanted the man in the deckchair to be in the foreground of the picture and used the cut out as a mask.

A masculine birthday card made using the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

FONTS-amental

It is time for the Joy of Sets monthly blog hop where our theme is FONTS-amental!!!! Love this title. I love a good font but am strictly short and to the point when adding sentiments to a card. I have lots stamp sets with but find myself reaching for the same few tried and tested phrases every time. So for this challenge I have taken a sentiment only stamp set and used every one of the sentiments to make a card.

To recreate the FONTS-amental card you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pacific Point – 4⅞” by 3¼”
Whisper White – 4⅝” by 3”
Pear Pizzazz – 5⅞” by 1”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

I mounted all the stamps from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set onto acrylic blocks and started stamping them in either Bermuda Bay ink, Pacific Point ink or Pear Pizzazz ink starting with the ‘Awesome at any age’ in the centre.

Scrap Whisper White

I placed the panel of Whisper White – 5¼” by 3½” onto the Stamparatus, lined up the patterned stamp and picked it up with the door. I inked the stamp with Balmy Blue ink, moved the door plate over one slot, inked it up and stamped again repeating this across the panel.

The sentiment from the Birthday Goodness was stamped in Night of Navy ink and the whole panel was added to the larger Night of Navy layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The collar and tie were stamped in Night of Navy ink onto the smallest piece of Whisper White card stock. The collar was coloured in using the light Balmy Blue Blends Marker. This panel was then added to the smaller Night of Navy piece using the same liquid glue. The same glue was used to glue the whole panel to the Crumb Cake card base.

I stamped the hat and shoe in Night of Navy ink onto scrap Whisper White and cut them out using scissors. I coloured both in using the light Crumb Cake Blends Marker. I added them to the small stamped panel with a little of the liquid glue.
