Splendid Thoughts card – Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using the stamp etching technique. Now, I have to confess I hadn’t heard of this technique but after a little research found out enough to try it and it is such fun. I have used the Splendid Thoughts stamp set to make my card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the splendid thoughts card, you will need:

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Poppy Parade card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Poppy Parade card – 4¼” by 3”
Basic Black card – 4⅛” by 2⅞”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 3”
Poppy Parade card – 2½” by 1¼”
Basic White card – 2½” by 1¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I embossed the 5⅜” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White card using the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder. The embossed panel was then glued to the larger Poppy Parade layer.

A length of Gingham Ribbon was wrapped around the embossed panel before it was glued down to the Basic Black card front. The 4¼” by 3” piece of Poppy Parade was glued into place under the ribbon.

The leafy image from the Splendid Thoughts stamp set, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the 4¼” by 3” panel of Basic White card. I die cut the stamped image using the Deckled Rectangle Dies.

Using the Basic Black Marker, I flicked lines onto each leaf in turn to the bottom and top of each leaf. The rolled leaf edges were coloured in completely to add more definition. The bee was then stamped and some lines flicked onto the wings.

The die cut piece was then glued to the 4⅛” by 2⅞” panel of Basic Black card. The whole piece was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Something Fancy stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the 2½” by 1¼” layer of Basic White card. I die cut it using another of the Deckled Rectangle Dies. The sentiment was then glued to the 2½” by 1¼” panel of Poppy Parade card. This was then added to the card base.

A Gingham Ribbon Bow and a trio of Classic Matte Dots finished the card.

Lovely & Sweet card for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where our theme is ‘What is Old … is New Again’……. We were to choose a project we had previously made and remake it using current product. I narrowed it down to 2 or 3 options before finally settling on this card which was on my blog on 13th January 2023.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the lovely and sweet card, you will need:

Pebbled Path card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Softly Stippled dsp – 5⅞” by 3½”
Parakeet Party card – 5⅞” by ½” x 2
Basic White card – 4½” by 4”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Parakeet Party card

Using the Basic Borders Dies, I die cut the zigzag edge into one of the 5⅞” by ½” strips of Parakeet Party card. I added this border to the right hand side of the panel of Softly Stippled dsp. I added the other strip as a straight edge on the other side of the dsp. The whole piece was then glued to the Pebbled Path card base.

The sentiment, from the Perennial Postage stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I punched it out using a 1” Circle Punch from my stash but you could used the Stylish Shapes Dies or Circle Dies. I also punched out a 1 ¼” circle from scrap Parakeet Party card and glued the two together. It was then added to the card front.

A Birthday Paradise card

I am loving the new Planted Paradise stamp set which will be available from the 4th January 2024 when the January – April Mini Catalogue launches. I have used it to make a monochromatic birthday card.

Shaded Spruce card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

The Botanical Layers stamp set by Stampin Up! used to make a trio of striped botanical cards

A Trio of Striped Botanical cards

Here are a trio of striped botanical cards inspired by cards made by Dena Rekow of the Creativity Cave. I love the look of this technique and wanted to use it to make an anniversary card for my husband.

Colours in these cards are:

To recreate these cards, you will need:

3 card bases – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner – I used Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia
3 Basic Black card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – rounded upper left corners
3 Basic White card – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corners
3 coloured panels – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corners – I used Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia
3 Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corners

I used a Stamparatus to stamp the image from the Botanical layers stamp set, any stamp positioner would work. A pretty Christmas card made using the Walk in the Forest designer Series Paper and Merriest Trees dies by Stampin' Up!

Pine Trees Christmas card

I have used left over pieces from the Walk in the Forest designer Series Paper pack to make my pine tree card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the pine trees card, you will need:

Garden Green card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛
Balmy Blue card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 3¾” by 1¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Walk in the Forest dsp

Using a Blending Brush, I swirled Balmy Blue ink onto the 5” by 3¼” panel of Basic White card.

I tore the 3¾” by 1¼” strip of Basic White to give the illusion of a snowbank. I glued it to the bottom of the inked panel.

The larger tree, die cut using the Merriest Trees dies, from the Walk in the Forest dsp was tucked down into the ‘snow bank’ and the smaller tree was added with Dimensionals.

Using Balmy Blue ink, I stamped stars around the trees and added a scattering of Basic Rhinestones to complete the card.

The Autumn Leaves stamp set by Stampin' Up! and a half sheet wonder technique used to make two pretty thank you cards

Autumn Leaves card

I have been playing with the Autumn Leaves stamp set recently and have come up with a sweet half a sheet wonder which, when cut down made two cards.

Colours used in these cards are:

To recreate the cards, you will need:

Basic White card – 8¼” by 5⅞”
2 card bases – 8¼” by 5⅞” – I used Wild Wheat & Moody Mauve
Blackberry Bliss card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I mounted all the outline leaf images and the leaf veins onto clear acrylic blocks and began stamping along the long side of the large piece of Basic White card. I then stamped leaves from one long side down the middle to the other long side.

The large maple leaves were stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink and the veins added it Cajun Craze ink. The oak leaf was stamped in Moody Mauve ink and the veins added with Blackberry Bliss ink.

Using a Post It Note, I masked one of the double leaves and inked up with Old Olive ink and added the veins in Early Espresso ink. The double leaves were then stamped together in Wild Wheat ink adding the veins in Copper Clay ink.

I cut the stamped Basic White panel down to give me 2 card fronts measuring 5” by 3¼” saving the scraps to decorate the inside panels and envelopes.
