Last week’s classes saw us using the lovely Lift Me Up stamp set with the co-ordinating Up & Away thinlet dies to make 3 cards. I wanted to combine the stamps and dies from the Spring/Summer catalogue with the Carried Away Designer Series Paper (dsp) found in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I cut the 12” x 12” papers down to 6”x 6” stacks – 8 stacks from each pack of dsp, each stack containing 6 double sided sheets – and gave each of my ladies a pack to use in the class. What they didn’t use they took home to add to their stash.
I chose the ink colours to match the dsp – Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, Watermelon Wonder, Peakaboo Peach and Mint Macaron.
The first card was very straight forward and involved stamping the smallest balloon randomly onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock in 4 of the colours. The ladies then chose a patterned paper to add behind the stamped panel using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was then layered onto a Smoky Slate cardbase using Dimensionals. Simple but very effective.
The second card was CASE’d from the amazing Australian demonstrator Kylie Bertucci. Kylie made this card using all of the dsp options from the Carried Away dsp and you can see them all by following this Youtube link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d3w – she starts showing the cards about 15 mins in. My ladies enjoyed having the chance to select their own dsp for this card. We decided that this card would make a great Valentine card as many of our menfolk don’t appreciate the hearts and flowers, lovey dovey type cards………
The last card involved using the Sponge Brayers, a first for many of the ladies who come to my classes. The brayers are super easy to use and each pack contains 4 sponges and 2 handles. After using each sponge you take it off the handle, removed the plastic centre and run it under warm water until the water runs clear and then leave them to air dry. The sponges will become stained but this doesn’t affect them at all.
We used the Peakaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder and Night of Navy ink pads to colour the background Whisper White panel. The panel initially looks quite mottled but evens out as the ink soaks into the cardstock and dries. The beautiful intricate balloon was die cut from Basic Black cardstock and we die cut some of the dsp to add behind the balloon. The starry night was made using a white gel pen. The whole panel was added to a Thick Whisper White card base.

I hope you like these projects as much as the ladies who came to the January classes did. Thank you for visiting my blog and come again soon.
