Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing projects inspired by a photo/colour challenge. A soon as I saw the colours, I thought they would make a fantastic floral Mother’s Day card, so that is what I made. This floral planter was inspired by a project made by Bronwyn Eastley of Addinktive Designs.
Colours used in this project are:
To recreate the Mother’s Day card, you will need:
Thick Basic White card – 11¾” by 3” scored on the long-side at 2¾”, 5½”, 8¼” & 11½”
Thick Basic White card – 3½” by 1“x 2 scored at ¼” on each end.
Scrap Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Polished Pink, Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green
Using one of the dies from the Something Fancy Dies set, I cut a piece from all 4 sides along the bottom, this created the ‘legs’ for my planter. The whole piece was then embossed using the Painted Texture Embossing Folder. I embossed it one end at a time. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to glue the tab to the side f the box, forming a square ‘planter’ with legs.
I folded and burnished the smaller strips of Basic White card, added glue to each small tab and each piece was inserted carefully inside the ‘box’ to form the struts across.
I die-cut lots of greenery from scrap Granny Apple Green card and glued it to the inside of the box using both struts and the front and back panels.
The parts for the purple flowers were die cut using Granny Apple Green card for the bases and Gorgeous Grape for the flowers. I glued them together with the same liquid glue. They were added to the back panel of the box.
The daisies were die-cut using Daffodil Delight card and the flower centres from Basic White card. I glued them together with liquid adhesive and added them to the foliage. I die cut the plumes of flowers from Poppy Parade card and the smaller flowers from Polished Pink card. They were added to the card with liquid glue.
The sentiment was stamped onto Basic White card and die-cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies. It was added to the front of the box.
Classic Matte Dots were then added to the centre of each small flower to complete the card. This will fit into a standard C6 envelope but I will be hand delivering it to my Mum.
