Hello and welcome to the Giving Thanks Blog Hop. There are so many things I am thankful for: my lovely family, my friends, the friendly village I live in and lots more. I have made an Autumnal flowers card for one of my lovely friends using the Inspirational Sketches stamp set and some seasonal colours.
To recreate the Autumnal flowers card, you will need:
Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” Mossy Meadow card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” Basic White card – 5” by 3¼” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” Scrap Mossy Meadow card
I stamped the cluster of flowers all over the 5” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card in Early Espresso ink. I also stamped the same image in Soft Sea Foam ink onto the upper left and lower right corners of the Soft Sea Foam card front.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The Inspirational Sketches stamp set used to make an Autumnal Flowers card for the Giving Thanks Blog Hop
Using Blends Pens I coloured in the images. The large flower was coloured with light and dark Pumpkin Pie with a little dark Cajun Craze. The medium flower was coloured with light and dark Wild Wheat and the final flower with light and dark Cherry Cobbler. The centres were coloured with the darkest natural tones blends or pecan pie blends. The cherry cobbler flower centre was coloured with dark Soft Sea Foam.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The Inspirational Sketches stamp set used to make an Autumnal Flowers card for the Giving Thanks Blog Hop
The leaves were coloured in using light and dark Mossy Meadow Blends. Using all the light Soft Sea Foam I coloured in all the remaining white space, it looked too bright against the rich colours of the flowers.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The Inspirational Sketches stamp set used to make an Autumnal Flowers card for the Giving Thanks Blog Hop
The stamped panel was then glued to the Mossy Meadow layer. A length of Linen Thread was wrapped around the panel, twice before it was adhered to the Soft Sea Foam card front with Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The Inspirational Sketches stamp set used to make an Autumnal Flowers card for the Giving Thanks Blog Hop
The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink onto scrap Mossy Meadow card. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. Using one of the labels from the Changing Leaves Dies I die cut the sentiment. I ran it through twice as I wanted the label to be shorter. The sentiment was then added to the card front.

A double Linen Thread bow and a trio of 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots finished the card.
Please hop on to see what my crafty friends have made to share with us today.
