Pretty feminine birthday cards made using the Paper Blooms dsp a Sale-A-Bration choice from Stampin' Up!

Paper Blooms card in the mail class

Today I am sharing the cards I designed for my first Class in the Mail. I used the lovely Paper Blooms designer Series Paper to make the cards. This is one of the free choices from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure with a £45 order.

Each person taking the class received all the card stock needed to make the cards, a 6” by 6” pack of the Paper Blooms dsp, a strip of Rhinestones, 3 envelopes and the die cut circles and label for the sentiments. As per Stampin’ Up! Policy no stamped images or sentiments were included and the ladies taking the class used what they had to hand. I had die cut a selection of flowers and leaves from the dsp for the ladies to use on their cards.

To recreate the double flower card, you will need:

Night of Navy card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛
Rococo Rose – 5½” by 3¾”
Paper Blooms dsp – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Night of Navy – ¼” strip
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Paper Blooms card in the mail class using Stampin’ Up! products.

Adhere the dsp to the Rococo Rose layer, then glued the panel to the Night of Navy card base.

Flag the ends of the strip of Night of Navy card and glue it to the card front. Stamp your chosen sentiment onto the die cut Whisper White label and use dimensionals to add to the card front.

Choose the flowers and leaves from the die cut selection and add with either glue or dimensionals. Embellish with Rhinestones.

To recreate the single flower card, you will need:

Rococo Rose card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛
Whisper White – 4⅛” by 3⅛” – embossed using the Painted Textures embossing folder
Paper Blooms dsp – 5⅞” by 2½”
Night of Navy – ¼” strip
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside

A lovely floral gilded art card made using Stampin' Up! product from the new Jan-June 2021 catalogue

Gilded Art for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where our theme this month is ‘New Goodies’. I have chosen to make a gilded art card for you. With the January – June 2021 and Sale-A-Bration catalogues coming out on the 5th January and lots of goodies from my pre-order to play with, I have been spoilt for choice. If you have hopped on from Karen Egan I am sure you loved her project

To recreate the gilded art card, you will need:

Just Jade card base – 8¼ by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Gorgeous Grape – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Scrap Whisper White

I really, really wanted to play with the gilding flakes but didn’t have any Heat & Stick Powder – so I improvised by sticking strips of Tear & Tape along all 4 sides of one of the Whisper White panels. I removed the backing and covered the tape with the flakes, rubbed them onto the tape with my fingers to remove the excess flakes and bring out the shine. I absolutely love the effect.

A pretty floral card with a sponged background made using the Forever Fern stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Forever Fern

I found a stray die cut Whisper White oval on my desk, I had cut it using the Layering Ovals dies for another project but didn’t use it. I decided to use it to make a card today using the Forever Fern stamp set.

To recreate the Forever Fern card you will need:

Magenta Madness card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Bumblebee – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Whisper White – for the die cut oval
Magenta Madness 4” by ¼”

I glued the Whisper White panel to the Bumblebee layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and used the same glue to stick it to the Magenta Madness card base.

I flagged the ends of the Magenta Madness strip with scissors and added it with the same glue to the card front.

Using sponges I added Magenta Madness ink to the bottom of the oval and Bumblebee ink to the top of the oval. Looks like a sunset.

I used the Stamparatus  to stamp a variety of leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set around the inked oval, I stamped each leaf 2 or 3 times to get a really dark colour.

I added the sentiment in the Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The stamped oval was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.
