Partial Die Cut Bird card for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing projects featuring partial die-cutting techniques. I have chosen to use the Aspen dies and the Perched In A Tree stamp set to make a get well card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the partial die cut bird card, you will need:

Lemon Lime Twist card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Stargazing dsp – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾

The bird from the Perched In A Tree stamp set was stamped in Pebbled Path ink onto the 5” by 3½” panel of Basic White card. I placed the bird die in position and used a bit of washi tape to secure it in position. In the Cut and Emboss Machine I placed the top C plate in position covering only the top of the bird and stopping at the feet. I ran it through and then cut off the excess card either side of the bird with my trimmer.

Using the following Blends Pens I coloured in the bird – Petal Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Pebbled path and the Color Lifter.

I added the branch from the Sweet Songbird stamp set in 2nd generation Pecan Pie ink and added leaves in Granny Apple Green ink. At this point I decided I would cut down the image using the largest of the stitched circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I used a Blending Brush to add a little Boho Blue ink to the semicircle which helps to ground the piece.

The panel of Stargazing dsp was adhered to the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I wrapped 2 lengths of Parakeet Party Metallic Open Weave around the panel securing them on the back with Seal+ and added some of the Lime Lime Twist Ribbon from the Duo pack in between. The panel was then glued to the Lemon Lime Twist card base.

The die cut bird was then added over the ribbon on Dimensionals. And a trio of 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots were added around the topper.

The sentiment, from the Ringed With Nature stamp set was stamped onto scrap Pebbled Path card in Versamark ink, covered with White Embossing Powder and heat set. The panel was then trimmed down with Scissors and added to the card front.

A very bright and cheerful card. I hope you like it.

Please hop over to share the inspiration provided by my crafty friends.
