A pretty anniversary card made using the mirror technique for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop and using the Playing in the Rain stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Turtle Love card for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects made using the ‘mirror technique’. I have used the cute Playing in the Rain stamp set to make this ‘turtle love’ anniversary card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the turtle love card, you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pecan Pie card – 4¾” by 3”
Basic White card – 4⅝” by 2⅞”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Pecan Pie card – 2” by ¼”

Using the smaller daisy outline image, I stamped in the upper left and lower right corners of the Flirty Flamingo card front with Flirty Flamingo ink.

I inked up the sweet turtle image from the Playing in the Rain stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped on the left side of the smaller panel of Basic White card.

The same image was then mounted onto the Stamparatus Plate and stamped in the same ink onto the Silicon craft sheet. I repeated this step to make sure I had a good strong image.

I lifted the silicon sheet up, turned it face down and placed it onto the Basic White panel next to the previously stamped turtle. I rubbed it lightly and left it in position for a minute or two to allow the ink to transfer.

Such a cute card. Please hop on to share the other inspiring projects provided by my stamping friends.

An anniversary card made using the pair of ducks from the Stylish Sketches stamp set for a watercolor challenge

Pair of Ducks Anniversary Card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects using water colouring techniques. I have used the sweet image of a pair of ducks from the Stylish Sketches stamp set to make an anniversary card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the pair of ducks’ card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Crumb Cake card – 5½” by 3¾”
Petal Pink card – 2¾” by 2½”
Shimmery White card – 2⅝” by 2⅜”
Shimmery White card – 2⅜” by ½”
Very Vanilla card – 5 ½” by 3¾”

Using one of the leafy sprigs from the Ringed With Nature stamp set, I randomly stamped in Crumb Cake into across the Crumb Cake layer. A length of Very Vanilla Twine, from the Essentials Baker’s Twine pack was wrapped around the panel three times and secured with Sellotape. The decorated panel was then added to the Crumb Cake card Base with Mini Glue Dots to accommodate the twine and give a shadow effect.

I positioned the pretty stamp onto the Stamparatus Plate and placed the larger panel of Shimmery White card beneath it. I love using Shimmery White as it holds the water better than Basic White card and has a delicate sheen which is so pretty. The image was stamped in Early Espresso ink, I repeated this step to get a good dark image.

I randomly stamped the floral image from the Shaded Summer in Crumb Cake ink onto the smaller panel of Basic White.

Using the Tailor Made Tag dies and my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine I die cut a label from the centre of the stamped panel. I glued the negative stamped piece to the Pool Party panel with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was then added to the Petal Pink card front with the same liquid glue.

I used Petal Pink, Pool Party, So Saffron and Smoky Slate Blends Alcohol Markers to colour in the flowers and leaves on the die cut tag. A hole re-enforcer was added to the top of the tag and a length of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon fed through the hole and trimmed with scissors.

I ran a strip of Seal + adhesive down the centre of the negative space and added a strip of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, weaving it back and forth. The coloured label was then added on Dimensionals over top and slightly off set so that we see a peek of Pool Party card.

The sentiment from the Many Messages stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto a scrap piece of Early Espresso using the Stamparatus. I covered it in White Embossing powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool. It was then die cut using the Messages Die.

The sentiment was added on Mini Black Dimensionals, straddling the base of the tag. I covered the coloured flowers with Clear Wink of Stella and added a trio of Artistry Blooms Sequins to finish the card.
