This deer at sunset card has been in my mind for a while and finally I have got around to making it. I have used the gorgeous Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending.
To recreate the deer at sunset card, you will need:
Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner Basic Black card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded lower right corner Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded lower right corner Flirty Flamingo card – 3” by ½” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded lower right corner – for the inside
Using the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes, I die cut a circle from a sheet of printer paper. This will act as a mask. The ‘mask’ was added over the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card. I used a little washi tape to hold the mask in place.
wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A beautiful deer at sunset card made using the Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending
Using a Blending Brush, I swirled Lemon Lolly ink over the top three quarters of the negative circle. I added Daffodil Delight around the edge of the circle leaving the centre of the circle a lighter colour.
Flirty Flamingo ink was added to the bottom of the circle and the mask was then removed.
wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A beautiful deer at sunset card made using the Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending
I inked up the meadow grass image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it near the bottom of the inked circle. The deer image was added using the same ink.
wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A beautiful deer at sunset card made using the Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending
The sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set was originally stamped onto the stamped and inked panel below the meadow grass, but I really didn’t like it, so Plan B………. the sentiment was stamped again in Memento Tuxedo black ink onto a piece of Flirty Flamingo card. I die cut it using a die from the Sending Dies and added it, on Dimensionals, over the wrongly stamped sentiment……….much better.

A black Baker’s Twine bow was tucked under the sentiment and a trio of Glossy Dots completed the card.

To recreate the sheep thank you card, you will need:
Sahara Sand card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” Garden Green card – 3¼” by 2⅝” Fluid 100 card – 3⅛” by 2½” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” Strips of Basic White, Balmy Blue and Garden Green ⅜” wide
When I am stamping onto watercolor paper, I usually use my Stamparatus. Because the paper is textured the Stamparatus gives me the option of re-stamping if I miss spots or I want the image to be darker. So, I stamped the fields, trees and sheep in StaZon Jet Black ink.
www.crafty-rootes.com – The On The Farm stamp set used to make a pretty, watercoloured, sheep themed thank you card
