Hello and welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop where we are share home décor projects. I am sharing a picture made using the gorgeous Oceanfront stamp set, can’t seem to stop using this versatile stamp set, I just love it.
To recreate the oceanfront picture, you will need:
Balmy Blue card – 6” by 4” with the inside cut out to give a ½” frame all the way around Basic White card – 6” by 4” Picture Frame – 6” by 4” – mine came from Tesco’s
I punched a ¾” circle from a Post It Note and placed it towards the top of the Basic White panel. The sky was then stamped overtop with Balmy Blue ink. It came up quite dark as I had just re-inked the inkpad but I quite liked it. I think it gives the picture a moodier look.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Oceanfront stamp set used to make a gorgeous picture for the Crafty Collaborations Home Decor Blog Hop
The water was stamped below the sky using Pool Party ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Oceanfront stamp set used to make a gorgeous picture for the Crafty Collaborations Home Decor Blog Hop
I added the ground and boulders using 1st and 2nd generation Crumb Cake ink and used the dotty stamp to add more texture.
The reeds were added in Garden Green ink and the grasses in Soft Suede. The birds in flight were stamped in Basic Gray ink.

The Balmy Blue frame was placed onto the glass front of the picture frame and the stamped image added behind. The back panel was then secured in position.

I love it, hope you like it too.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Please hop on to share the inspiration provided by my friends.

Wood Slice – I got mine here – https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B082HR4RV3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Real Red card – 8¼” by 3¼ Garden Green card – 4½” by 2” Scrap Gold Foil card Jute Twine
We die cut and embossed the 3 layers of poinsettia petals from the Real Red card using the Poinsettia dies and Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. They were then spayed, using a Spritzer, with a mixture of Frost White Shimmer Paint and Alcohol. They were then set aside to dry. The Frost White Shimmer Paint is sadly retired but you could use Clear Wink of Stella instead.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This beautiful rustic wood and poinsettia Christmas Tree bauble, fun & festive and made using Stampin’ Up! products
When they were dry, we curled the petals using a Bone Folder. The layers were then adhered together, offset, with Mini Glue Dots. We added the centre, die cut from Gold Foil card using the same Poinsettia Dies. It was added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This beautiful rustic wood and poinsettia Christmas Tree bauble, fun & festive and made using Stampin’ Up! products
The completed Poinsettia was then added to the wood slice with a Dimensional.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This beautiful rustic wood and poinsettia Christmas Tree bauble, fun & festive and made using Stampin’ Up! products
The holly leaves. 1 large and 2 small, were cut and embossed from the piece of Garden Green card. They were tucked under the poinsettia and glued down with the liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This beautiful rustic wood and poinsettia Christmas Tree bauble, fun & festive and made using Stampin’ Up! products
We used some rustic jute twine from my stash to make a loop and bow to hang the bauble.
Cabin Bauble
Basic White circle – die cut with Framelets Circle Dies – roughly 3⅝” – 3¾” in diameter Soft Suede – die cut with Framelets Circle Dies – roughly 3⅝” – 3¾” in diameter Garden Green card – 4½” by 2”
Using a heavy-duty hole punch we punched a hole at the top of the wood circle.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This pretty Christmas rustic cabin in the trees made into a tree bauble and made using Stampin’ Up! products
I mounted the Birch background stamp on a Stamparatus plate, I find it easier to handle than the largest block, ink it up with Misty Moonlight ink and stamped it onto the bauble. It was then set aside to dry.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This pretty Christmas rustic cabin in the trees made into a tree bauble and made using Stampin’ Up! products
Placing the Basic White circle on top of the Soft Suede circle I ran them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the detailed cabin die. We lifted the Basic White layer off the Soft Suede layer, leaving all the bits stuck on the Soft Suede piece. Using a Take Your Pick Tool we carefully lifted off the white scrap leaving the Soft Suede piece intact. The 2 pieces were then stuck together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. We added the cabin to the bauble on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This pretty Christmas rustic cabin in the trees made into a tree bauble and made using Stampin’ Up! products
Using the dark, Soft Suede Blends Marker were coloured in the cabin and added Clear Wink of Stella to the cabin roof and the ground.
www.crafty-rootes.com – This pretty Christmas rustic cabin in the trees made into a tree bauble and made using Stampin’ Up! products
The trees were then die cut from the Garden Green layer using trees from the Cain Dies and tucked around the cabin. Using either liquid glue or Dimensionals. We added a loop of twine to the top to hang the bauble.
These baubles were such fun to make, I hope you like them.

Welcome to the November 2020 Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop. Our theme this month is ‘Christmas Tree Bauble’ and I have used the gorgeous So Many Snowflakes Dies to make my simple snowflake tree ornament. If you have started here of hopped over from my crafty friend Susan Simpson, you are very welcome.
To recreate the Snowflake Tree Ornament, you will need:
Magenta Madness card Gold Foil card
Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I die cut 2 of the medium snowflakes from Gold Foil card and 4 smaller snowflakes from the Magenta Madness card.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty snowflake tree ornament made for the Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop using the So Many Snowflake Dies
I used a rolled up Mini Glue Dot to adhere one of the Gold Foil snowflakes to the Gold Hoop. The second Gold Foil snowflake was added to the back using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to stick the snowflakes together.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty snowflake tree ornament made for the Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop using the So Many Snowflake Dies
The Magenta Madness snowflakes were laid on my grid paper and sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Mist. This was made by pouring 70% alcohol into a Stampin’ Spritzer and adding a pea sized blob of Champagne Shimmer Paint before shaking well and spraying the snowflakes. This gives a lovely shimmer and the alcohol means it dries quickly.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty snowflake tree ornament made for the Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop using the So Many Snowflake Dies
I used rolled up Mini Glue Dots to adhere a pink snowflake either side of the larger gold snowflake. The remaining pink snowflakes were added to the back with the liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty snowflake tree ornament made for the Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop using the So Many Snowflake Dies
Gold twine was then added to the gold hoop to hang the ornament and Gold Glitter Dios were added to each snowflake, front and back. Pretty but very simple. I just love these bright pink snowflakes. I hope you like them.

Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘3D’. If you have hopped over from the lovely Jill Chapman, you are very welcome. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes in the UK. Please continue to hop through to see all the inspiration the other participants have to share.
I have chosen to share the wreath I have made for my lovely Mum who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and is in a care home. As we are currently in lockdown in an effort to stop the rise of Covid-19, we are unable to visit her. I made her this pretty Poinsettia Wreath for the lovely staff who care for her to hang on her door.
To recreate the 3D Poinsettia Wreath, you will need:
Real Red card stock Flirty Flamingo card stock Garden Green stock Soft Sea Foam card stock Whisper White card stock Silver Foil card
Taking the stunning Metallic Mesh Ribbon, I started wrapping it loosely around a pretty wicker wreath bought from a local craft store. I love this ribbon; it is so light and fragile looking but adds such a pop of style.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
Using the gorgeous Poinsettia Dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I cut out the layers for 2 Real Red flowers and the layers for a Flirty Flamingo flower.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
I used a sponge dauber and Cherry Cobbler ink I added colour to the edges of each flower petal to give the flower more dimension.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
I used Real Red ink and a dauber to add depth to the Flirty Flamingo flower.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
The petals were shaped using my Bone Folder to add yet more dimension. The petals of the largest and smallest layers were shaped downwards. The petals of the two middle layers were shaped upwards.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
The layers were layer up using a Dimensional between the bottom (first) and second layer. Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive between the second and third layer and a Mini Dimensional between the third and fourth layers. Each layer was added off centre to the layer before.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
Using the Beautiful Boughs Dies I die cut a selection of branches in Garden Green, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White card.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
I began adding branches and leaves behind each of the three flowers, building up the layers and adhering the leaves to the back of the flower with the liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
When all three flowers were backed with leaves, I glued them to the wreath using my hot glue gun. I added a bow made using the Metallic Mesh Ribbon using the hot glue.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A lovely 3D Poinsettia Wreath made for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
I used some of the really pretty Beaded Pearls to the centre of each flower using Mini Glue Dots.
As a finishing touch I sprayed the flowers with some Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with 70% alcohol to give some extra shimmer.
So pretty I really hope Mum likes it.

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop. My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK and I am thrilled to be joining the super talented team on this blog hop. Our theme today is ‘Showcasing a project we have been working on’. I have chosen to share a piece of home décor with you; a picture of a snowy mountain scene. I hope you like it.
To recreate the Snowy Mountain picture you will need:
Whisper White card – 8” by 6”
Misty Moonlight card – 8* by 6”
Picture frame for a 7” by 5” photograph
If you have been following my blog you will know that the Mountain Air stamp set is a real favourite of mine and today I have combined it with the In The Pines Stamp set and the sweet cabin from the Snow Front stamp set to create this wintery scene.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Mountain Air stamp set used to make pretty picture featuring a snowy mountain scene
I began with the piece of Whisper White card which I lined up on my Grid Paper. With a T Square Ruler and a pencil I marked out ½” on all 4 sides to form a border. This border will be covered by the mount.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Mountain Air stamp set used to make pretty picture featuring a snowy mountain scene
I inked up the detailed mountain image from the Mountain Air stamp set with Seaside Spray ink and stamped the image across the panel. I reversed the stamp, inked up the back with the same colour, stamped off on my Grid Paper and stamped the 2nd generation, offset, over the mountains.
The row of trees were stamped below the mountains in Shaded Spruce ink. I punched a 1” circle from a Post It note and applied it over the mountains. Using a blending brush – you could also use a sponge or a sponge dauber instead – and circular movements I appled Balmy Blue ink across the top of the panel to give the effect of a sky. The circle mask was then removed.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Mountain Air stamp set used to make pretty picture featuring a snowy mountain scene
I roughly tore a piece to copy paper to give a wavy edge. Using the blending brush and Pool Party ink I moved around the torn copy paper to give the effect of snow banks.
Placing the copy paper back in position I stamped the sweet cabin from the Snow Front stamp set in Basic Gray ink. I added the ‘path’ image in 2nd generation Basic Gray ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Mountain Air stamp set used to make pretty picture featuring a snowy mountain scene
I added the row of trees from the In the Pines stamp set in the same way using Early Espresso ink. I added the in-fill stamp in Shaded Spruce ink. The large tree on the left was stamped in Early Espresso and Shaded Spruce.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Mountain Air stamp set used to make pretty picture featuring a snowy mountain scene
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut out the middle of the Misty Moonlight panel leaving a 3/4£” border all the way around. This will be the mount for the picture.
I used a simple white photo frame to show off this simple picture.

It is time for the Stamper’s Showcase blog hop again and this time our topic in ‘gift wrapping’ and I have chosen to make a holly box. If you have joined the hop with me, welcome….I am Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. If you have hopped over from Marita you are also very welcome.
To recreate the Holly Box you will need:
Real Red – 8¼” by 7¼” Whisper White – 8¼” by 5½” Scrap Whisper White and Real Red
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
I began by using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the Real Red panel . I scored on the long side at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”. The short side was scored at 2”, 5” and 7”
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
I cut up the scorelines as shown in the photo, please use this as a template.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
The box was put together using Tear & Tape, a very strong adhesive which will ensure that is doesn’t fall apart.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
Using the new Joyful Holly stamp set I randomly stamped the outline holly images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Whisper White panel.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
I stamped the infill images in Old Olive ink, they were really easy to line up and added the berries in Real Red ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
The stamped panel was then cut into 1⅞” strips. These strips were cut down to 2⅞”. You need 4 pieces 2⅞” by 1⅞” for the panels of the box and 1 piece 1⅞” by 1⅞” for the top of the box.
These panels were adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
I wrapped a strip of Old Olive Ribbon around a box and tied in a bow.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped in Real Red ink onto scrap Whisper White and die cut using a label from the lovely Field Tile Dies.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sweet little treat box made using the Joyful Holly stamp set
I die cut another label from Real Red card and cut it apart as shown in the photograph. I adered the pieces to the back of the sentiment with the liquid glue and cut the label down. The label was tucked under the bow and adhered with the liquid glue.

Here is a sweet little fold over top gift bag made using the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper (dsp). You can fit 2 Fererro Roche chocolates in the bag……..yum. This sweet little box is so easy to make and such a handy size. This was made for the Hopping Around the World blog hop where the theme is 3D. If you have hopped over from Rachel Macleod I am sure you loved her project. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes in the UK.
To recreate the Fold Over Top Gift bag you will need:
Ornate Garden dsp – 8½” by 6”
Scrap Whisper White
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
I began by using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the Ornate Garden dsp. The long side was scored at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8” and the short side at 1¾” & 5”.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
Using Scissors I cut off the top and bottom small rectangles leaving the central tab. Then I cut up each of the 1¾” rectangles to form tabs for the bottom of the box. The 1” strip of dsp was trimmed off except the last rectangle next to the narrow tab.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
The score lines were then folded and burnished. Tear and Tape was then added to the thin side tab and the box was closed. I folded three of the bottom tabs in and added Tear and Tape to the fourth before folding it down and sealing the bottom closed.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
The back and front of the bag were then pinched together and the 1” strip folded over to form the closure.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
I wrapped the lovely Old Olive Ribbon around the bag and tied a bow towards the top, this will hold the bag closed.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set in Terracotta Tile ink and cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. It was added to the flap closure, just under the bow with a Glue Dot.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge
I love this paper and the bag is adorable. I hope you like it.

Hello and welcome to the December Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop where out theme is – anything but a card – so I have chosen to decorate a wreath using the Beautiful Boughs Dies. If you have joined me from the lovely Sue Allen I am sure you loved her project. You are joining me here in the UK where it is cold but not snowy……yet. My project was inspired by a wreath made by my lovely upline Mikaela Titheridge – to see her original click on this link.
To recreate the Beautiful Wreath you will need;
A selection of green card stocks – I chose Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce and a little Whisper White.
Foil – I chose Gold but Silver, Copper, or some of the gorgeous Noble Peacock foils would also look amazing.
Brown card stock – I chose Soft Suede
Ratten or Grapevine Wreath, which measures about 12” (30cm) in diameter and is readily available from Hobbycraft in the UK or online.
I began by die cutting multiples of all 3 boughs from the Beautiful Boughs dies set. I cut multiples of the Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Soft Sea Foam boughs and less of the Shaded Spruce as I planned to use the darker green to add a pop of colour.
Using a bone folder I gently curled all the boughs to add some shaping.
Using Mini Glue Dots I began adding the boughs to the wreath. I toyed with using my hot glue gun but I always find I stick myself to everything of I use the gun……….not a pretty sight and actually the Mini Glue Dots worked really well.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A beautiful Christmas Wreath decorated using the lovely Beautiful Boughs dies
I started on the right hand side layering the Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Form and Whisper White boughs one on top of the other changing the angle to make it look as random as possible. I also cut down the boughs as needed to give smaller branches to tuck in. I covered 6” or so of the wreath then repeated the process starting from the left.
Where the 2 sides met I added the bow made from the gorgeous Real Red Ruched Ribbon, again using Mini Glue Dots. I then tucked in the Shaded Spruce boughs filling in any spaces.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A beautiful Christmas Wreath decorated using the lovely Beautiful Boughs dies
The solid pine cones were die cut from the Soft Suede card stock and the Gold Foil detailed pine cones were added on top with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. These were then tucked into the boughs to decorate the wreath.
To complete the wreath I added a scattering of the red Toile Tiding Glitter Enamel Dots to represent berries. Unfortunately in Europe we were unable to get the gorgeous Puff Paint which I would have liked to use to give a snowy effect.
I am really happy with the finished wreath and am delighted at how well the Mini Glue Dots worked for this project. I hope you like it.

Classes this week were so much fun as we were making some of the gorgeous Mini Curvy Keepsake Boxes and stamping on candles using the Snowman Season and Cup of Christmas stamp sets. We began by making the cute candle.
To recreate the Snowman candle you will need:
White Tissue Paper Greaseproof or wax paper Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Blends – dark Cherry Cobbler, dark Bermuda bay & dark Pumpkin Pie
Using the Memento ink we stamped the snow man onto the slightly smoother, slightly glossier side of the tissue paper. After I bit of trial and error one of my team members and I noticed that the ink stayed a darker if stamped on the smooth side.
www.crafty-rootes.com – a gorgeous hand stamped candle using the Snowman Seasons stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Using Scissors we cut away the excess tissue paper around the image and placed the stamped image, ink side up onto the candle
A long thin piece of greaseproof paper, slightly wider than the candle was wrapped the candle with the excess gathered at the back of the candle to act as a handle.
We used a Heat Tool to set the image into the candle. The trick is to apply the heat quite close – about 2 – 3 inches away from the greaseproof. If you watch carefully you will see the ink darken and the edges of the tissue paper disappear. Then roll the candle from side to side a couple of times on a hard surface to smooth out any lumpy areas then gently peel away the greasproof. If you can still see tissue paper then repeat the heating step. We stamped a sentiment and applied it to the candle in the same way.
Taking the following Blends markers we coloured in the image on the candle – dark Cherry Cobbler, dark Bermuda Bay & dark Pumpkin Pie
To recreate the Mini Curvy Keepsake Boxes you will need:
5½” by 5½” piece of Whisper White cardstock x 2 Scrap Whisper White
The ladies die cut the Mini Curvy Keepsake Boxes from the Whisper White cardstock panels. The also die cut 2 of the cute tags from the same set of dies.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A sweet mini curvy keepsake bx decorated with a poinsetta stamp
We stamped the snowflakes from the Snowman Season stamp set randomly over the 4 sides of one of the boxes in Pool party ink. And for the other box we used the small poinsettia image from the Cup of Christmas stamp set in Real Red ink stamping once on each panel.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A sweet mini curvy keepsake box decorated with a snowflakes
We folded on all the score lines and used a bone folder to curl each of the sides. The ladies then put the boxes together tucking the tags inside for safe keeping to be added to the box after they have filled it.

Oh my goodness I love the gorgeous new Christmas Countdown Project Kit. It makes a super cute Advent Calender with a sturdy frame and pull out boxes which are a really good size – inside dimensions are 2” by 2” by 2”. Even better the kit comes with most of the elements you need to complete the calender.

There is a co-ordinating stamp set which I do not have to add a little customization to the decoration. I used stamp sets I already have to do this.

The calender was so quick and easy to put together as well.

The other fantastic thing about the calender is that each box has 4 faces – I turned the boxes 180⁰ and decorated them all using the lovely Bird Ballard dsp. Each square of dsp was cut to a shade under 2” by a shade under 2” and a semicircle punched out with the 1” circle Punch. So many possibilities……..
I think I might use mine to store embellishments in.
