A beautiful blue botanical card made using the Botanical Layers stamp set and 2022 - 2024 In Color dsp from Stampin' Up!

Blue Botanicals card

Today, I have been playing with the pretty Botanical Layers stamp set and the 2022 – 2024 In Color dsp and have made a sweet blue botanicals card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the blue botanical card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
2022 – 2024 In Color dsp – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Gray Granite card – 4⅜” by 2 ½” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 4¼” by 2⅜” – rounded upper left corner
Scrap Basic White card

I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to glue the piece of dsp to the Thick Basic White card base.

The plant image was stamped in Starry Sky ink onto the small panel of Basic White and I added some of the smaller circular dotty images in the same ink.

I cleaned the stamp on my Simply Shammy and stamped the image again in Starry Sky ink and once more in Orchid Oasis ink.

I repeated the pattern until the whole panel was covered, cleaning the stamp between each change of colour. The stamped panel was then added to the Orchid Oasis layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

A Gilded Happiness card for the Adhesives Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Adhesives Blog Hop where we are sharing projects and tips using some of the adhesive options. I am sharing a pretty gilded happiness card using gilding flakes and the Happiness Abounds stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the gilded happiness card, you will need:

Petal Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Calypso Coral card – 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – Rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper right corner
Basic Gray card – ½” strip
Scrap Basic White card

I placed the smaller panel of Basic White card onto my Silicon Mat and added strips of Tear ‘n Tape Adhesive in the lower left corner. I cut off the excess. Using the Silicon mat means I don’t have to worry about the tape sticking to everything else!!!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -Gorgeous Gilding Flakes and the Happiness Abounds stamp set used for the Adhesives Blog Hop

The backing paper was removed and I carefully, dunked the sticky panel into my tub of gliding flake. I love the gilding flakes but my goodness you can make a real mess with them if you aren’t careful. I used a Blending Brush to rub away the excess flakes revealing the golden stripes. The panel was then added to the Calypso Coral panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive which gives a little wiggle room to get the layer perfectly positioned. The panel was then added with the same liquid glue to the Petal Pink card front.

A card made for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop using the gorgeous new 2022 - 2024 In-Colors and the Sending Smiles stamp set by Stampin' Up!

In Color Smiles card for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we are showcasing the new 2022 – 2024 In-colors. I have made a pretty in-color smiles card using the Sending Smiles stamp set,

Colours used in this project are:

To Recreate the in-color smiles card, you will need:

Sweet Sorbet card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Starry Sky card – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Basic White card – 3¾” by 1½”

Using my Grid Paper and a ruler I measured down 1¼” and using a pencil drew a line across one of the larger panels of Basic White card. I drew another line about 1 ½” lower. This helped me to arrange my stamping.

I began by stamping the leafy sprig in Parakeet Party above and below the lines. The Sweet Sorbet flower was stamped next.

I used Starry Sky ink to add centres to all the flowers. The decorated panel was then glued to the Starry Sky layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the whole panel was added to the Sweet Sorbet card base using the same glue. I used a clean rubber to erase the pencil lines.

The larger part of the sentiment was stamped in Starry Sky ink and the smaller sentiment added using Sweet Sorbet………I messed this up and ended up re-stamping it onto scarp Basic white and die cutting it out using one of the labels from the co-ordinating Sending Dies. I added this over the badly stamped words using liquid adhesive. This piece was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

Hello and welcome to the Share it Sunday Blog Hop where we are sharing a project we are working on and I have chosen to share the happiness fun fold card made for my lovely Mum’s birthday. This card was inspired by a card made by fellow demonstrator Terri Gaines

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate this card, you will need:

Melon Mambo card – 11” by 5½” – scored on the long-side at 1¾”, 3½”, 5¼” & 7”
Melon Mambo card – 5” by 3 ½” – score on the long-side at 2½”
Hues of Happiness dsp – 5⅜” by 3⅞”
Hues of Happiness dsp – 5⅜” by 1⅝” x 2
Basic White card – 4⅞” by 3⅜”

Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored both Melon Mambo panels as stated in the measurements above.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A beautiful fun fold card made using the Happiness Abounds stamp set, Blossomng Happiness Dies and Hues of Happiness dsp for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop

I glued the panels of the gorgeous, Hues of Happiness dsp to the larger Melon Mambo panel. The largest piece to the larger panel, then skip a panel and adhere one of the thinner dsp panels to the next panel. Then skip another panel before adhering the final piece of dsp to the final section of the Melon Mambo card base.

The panel was then folded and burnished on the score lines. Beginning with the largest panel on your right, fold upwards to create a valley fold. The next fold is a mountain fold, followed by a valley fold and finally, a mountain fold. Burnish all the score lines with a Bone Folder.

The sentiment was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto one of the panels and a flower and leaf combo were added to the bottom of the panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This panel was placed, using the same adhesive in the centre of the largest panel.

The two remaining Basic White panels were adhered to the smaller panel of Melon Mambo which was folded on the central score line.

I applied Tear and Tape to the shorter sides of the smaller Melon Mambo piece, placed the piece over the Basic White panel on the back panel and adhered the front of the smaller Melon Mambo piece to the folded front panel. I repeat this step when adhering the back piece.

Glossy Dots were added to decorate the card.

I hope my Mum will like the card.

Please continue to hop on to see what my stamping friends have been making and sharing.

The Peaceful Deer stamp set used to make pine tree tags for the Christmas Stampathon

Pine Tree Tags for the Christmas Stampathon

Today I am sharing the projects made for the Christmas Stampathon. On the 25th of each month we are given a theme and are challenge to create a Christmas themed project using the theme and then duplicate it, we need a minimum of 4. This months theme is ‘Tags in traditional Christmas Colours’. I have chosen to make my Pine Tree Tags using the Tailor-Made Tags and the Peaceful Deer stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate a single tag, you will need:

Basic White card – 5” by 4½”
Shaded Spruce card – 5” by 4½”
Gold Foil – 2¼” by ¼”
Design A Daydream dsp – 2¼” by ⅜”
Basic White – ¼” strip

Using the Tailor-Made tags Dies I die cut a tag from the Basic White and Shaded Spruce card.

Using a Blending Brush, I added Pool Party ink to the centre of the Basic White tag.

The largest pine tree from the Peaceful Deer stamp set was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink onto the tag. It was then stamped again, slightly lower down in 2nd generation Shaded Spruce ink.

I used multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to add the Gold Foil strip to the back of the Design A Daydream strip. This was then added to the bottom of the tag using the same liquid glue.

The decorated Basic White Tag was then glued to the Shaded Spruce tag, slightly off set.

The sentiment from the Christmas To Remember stamp set was stamped onto the strip of Basic White card in Shaded Spruce ink and trimmed down with scissors. I added it to the tag with liquid glue.

A piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon was pushed through the hole in the tags and tied with a length of White Baker’s Twine. A trio of Brushed Metallic Dots completed the tag.

The Lovely You stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty floral card for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Lovely You card for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we have a picture to work from. I have chosen to use the colours of the picture for my lovely you card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the lovely you card, you will need:

Pear Pizzazz card base – 8¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛”
Pacific Point card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 3” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Pacific Point

I die cut a stitched circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies, placed it onto the 5⅛” by 3⅜” panel of Basic White and drew around it with a pencil. This helped me to plan where to stamp my images.

Next, I inked up the flower and stem using Pacific Point for the flower and Cajun Craze for the stem and leaves. These were added around the circle. Next, I added the thin sprig in Evening Evergreen ink.

Finally, I added the single flower in 1st & 2nd generation Pacific Point ink. I rubbed the pencil line out with a rubber. The whole panel was added to the Pacific Point panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and I used the same glue to adhere the panel to the Pear Pizzazz card front.

A small butterfly was die cut from scrap Pacific Point card using the Daffodil Dies. The butterfly was added to the card front along with a trio of Basic Rhinestones to complete the card.

Not a colour combo I would have chosen but I really like how the card has turned out. I hope you like it.
