Supplies used:

The By the Bay designer series paper and the Adorable Owl stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a sweet card

Owl on a Striped Background

Hello and welcome to the Share it Sunday Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on recently. I have used more of the strips of By the Bay dsp left over from class preparation to make a sweet birthday card using the Adorable Owls stamp set.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the striped sympathy card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅞” by 3”
Night of Navy card – 6” by 1½”
Night of Navy – 6” by ½”
Basic White card – 3¾” by 3”
Night of Navy strip of card – ⅜” wide
By the Bay dsp strips a minimum of 4½” long and of varying widths

I applied strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive to all 4 sides of the 5⅞” by 3” piece of Basic White card. The backing from the adhesive tape was removed and I began laying the strips of By the Bay dsp from top to bottom, making sure to over-lap the top and the bottom. I continued with this until the panel was completely covered.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Adorable Owl stamp set used with the By the Bay designer series paper to make a sweet card

The excess dsp was then trimmed off using sharp scissors. A length of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape.

The ½” strip of Night of Navy card was glued to the top of the striped panel. I ran the 1½” strip of Night of Navy through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with one of the Basic Borders Dies and adhered the resulting decorative edge to the bottom of the striped panel. The whole piece was then added to the Thick Basic White card front with liquid glue.

I used the Layering Diorama Dies to cut out a label form the 3¾” by 3” panel of Basic White card and stamped the owl onto it with Soft Suede ink. The following Blends Pens were used to colour in the image – Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron. Balmy Blue & Petal Pink. The coloured piece was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink onto the strip of Night of Navy card, covered with White Embossing Powder and heat set. I cut the words apart and added them to the card front.

Cottage Rose card for the Ink. Stamp. Share Colour Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Colour Challenge Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using black, white and a pop of colour. I have chosen to use the Cottage Rose stamp set and added in some So Saffron.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the cottage rose card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

The large flower was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the smallest panel of Basic White card. I also stamped the medium sized flower in the upper left and lower right corners of the Thick Basic White card base.

I masked the large flower using a Postit Note and added a smaller flower in the same black ink. The mask was then removed.

The sentiment was stamped in the same black ink in the lower right corner.

I used the dark So Saffron Blends Pen to add colour to the flower. The colour was only added to the area’s shaded by the designer, love that they do this for us, makes it so easy.

The stamped panel was then glued to the Basic Black panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a length of Black Baker’s Twine around the panel and added the whole piece to the Thick Basic White card base on Dimensionals.
