Gingham Umbrella

I saw a pretty gingham umbrella card on Pinterest and had to make it myself using the gorgeous gingham paper from the 2019 – 2021 In-color dsp in Terracotta Tile. The original card was made by fellow UK demonstrator Michelle Last

To recreate the Gingham Umbrella card you will need:

Terracotta Tile – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Cherry Cobbler – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 5⅜” – rounded upper left corner
2019 – 2021 In Color dsp – 5⅜” by ½”
Scrap dsp & Whisper White

I stamped the open and closed umbrella onto the Gingham dsp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used a pre-punched template to make sure I had the stamps lined up perfectly so that I could punch the images out using the Umbrella Builder Punch.

I added the strip of gingham dsp to the bottom of the stamped layer and glued the whole piece to the Cherry Cobbler panel. This was then glued to the Terracotta Tile card base.

Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3 ⅝” for the inside
Scrap Whisper White

I stamped the ‘sunburst’ image randomly in Pool Party ink onto the Pool Party card base. I added the large flower inside each of the circles in Highland Heather ink. So pretty.

The mug was inked up in Pool Party ink, Bermuda Bay ink was added to the bottom of the mug using a Sponge Dauber and Coastal Cabana was added in the same way to the middle of the mug before it was stamped down on scrap Whisper White. This gives a lovely ombre look to the mug.

The mug was die cut using the Cup of Cheer dies.

Using the Stitched So Sweetly dies I cut out the largest scalloped rectangle.

I stamped the ‘steam’ onto the die cut rectangle in Pool Party ink and the sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set in Highland Heather ink to the same panel.

The panel was added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive before the mug was added on dimensionals.

I love this colour combination. I hope you like it.
