A pretty thank you card made using the baby swipe technique and the Tropical Chic stamp set

Tropical Chic with the baby swipe technique

Today I am sharing a pretty card made using the Tropical Chic stamp set and the Tropical Thinlit dies and a piece of Whisper White card that I coloured using the baby swipe technique. This is a technique shared by Barry and Jay of Mitosu Crafts

To recreate the Tropical Chic baby swipe card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black – 3¾” by 2⅞”
Whisper White – 3⅝” by 2¾”
Scrap Basic Black & Whisper White

The small panel of Whisper White was coloured using the Baby Swipe technique. I folded a baby wipe in half and placed it on an I block. I added 3 drops of Pineapple Punch re-inker, 3 dots of Grapefruit Grove re-inker, 3 dots of Real Red re-inker and a dot of Blueberry Bushel re-inker. I smudged them together using the edge of a smaller block – as demonstrated by Barry. I then swiped the baby wipe, wrapped around the block across the card stock panel. This gives such a cool effect.

A pretty thank you card made using the baby swipe technique and the Tropical Chic stamp set

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty card made using the Baby swipe technique and the Tropical Chic stamp set

When the inked panel was dry I placed it in the Stamparatus and covered it with the 3 leaf stamps from the Tropical Chic stamp set. I picked the stamps up with the clear panel. I inked up the stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the images onto the panel. I really wanted the leaves to be very black so repeated this step three times.

CASE from Pinterest

Welcome to the April Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘CASE from Pinterest’. If you have joined me from Annette welcome, I am sure you enjoyed her lovely project.

I have chosen to CASE (copy and selectively edit) a card made by the very talented Su Mohr using the Poppy Moments dies. I hope you and she like it.

To recreate the CASE from Pinterest card you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Flirty Flamingo – 5½” by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 3
Scrap Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam & Soft Suede

I began by taking the ‘smudge’ stamp, inking it up with Flirty Flamingo ink and stamping it randomly across one of the Whisper White panels. This step was repeated using So Saffron ink and Petal Pink ink until the whole layer was covered in ink.

A beautiful poppy themed card made using Stampin' Up! products

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty multicoloured poppy card made using the Peaceful Poppies and Poppy Moments dies

Using the Poppy Moments dies I die cut the detailed flower from the stamped panel. I die cut the same image and the full blank flower from Whisper White card stock. I mounted the White die cut flower outline onto the White flower blank with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and carefully fitted in the inked die cut pieces. Doesn’t the flower look fab……..I love  bit of paper piecing.

A multicoloured umbrella card perfect for a showery April day

Shower of Umbrellas

Here is a cute shower of umbrellas card made using the Under My Umbrella card with lots of gorgeous umbrellas. Perfect for a showery day.

To recreate the Shower of Umbrellas card you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner
Basic Black – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded lower right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded lower right corner x 2

I stamped the open umbrella randomly onto one of the Whisper White panels in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added the handles in the same ink using a PostIt note to mask off the umbrellas.
