Three of my aunts are celebrating their 80th birthdays soon and I have decided to get ahead with my card making and have made a special birthday card using the Birthday Celebration stamp set and dies along with the Wildflower Birthday designer series paper (dsp).
To recreate the special birthday card, you will need:
Blueberry Bushel card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Wildflower Birthday dsp – 5¼” by 3½” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 for the inside Scrap Gold Foil
The piece of Wildflower Birthday dsp was glued to the – 5⅜” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White card. This was then glued to the Blueberry Bushel card front.

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where our theme is Fun Folds. So with that in mind, I absolutely have to share with you the waterfall birthday card I have made for my Aunts special birthday tomorrow. This card was made using bright spring colours and flowers which my aunt loves.
To recreate the Waterfall birthday card, you will need:
Magenta Madness card base – 11¾” by 4⅛” – scored at 5⅞” Magenta Madness – 8⅝” by 2¾” – Scored at 1¾”, 2½”, 3¼” & 4” Magenta Madness – 4⅛” by 1” Flowers For Every Season dsp – 5½” by 3¾” Flirty Flamingo – 2⅝” by 2⅝” Daffodil Delight – 2⅝” by 2⅝” Just Jade – 2⅝” by 2⅝” Misty Moonlight – 3⅝” by 2⅝” Basic White – 2½” by 2½” x 3 Basic White – 3½” by 2½” Basic White – 2½” by 1½” Scrap Basic White & Magenta Madness
I began by gluing the Flowers For Every Season dsp to the Magenta Madness card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Adhere the small strip of Magenta Madness card about 2 ¼” up from the bottom of the card front. Use strong adhesive such as Tear & Tape or Snail Plus and this piece gets a lot of pulling about.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty, colourful special Waterfall birthday card made using the All Things Fabulous stamp set by Stampin Up!
Next, I inserted the 4⅝” (longest side) end of the scored 8⅝” strip of Magenta Madness into the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch; it is wider than the opening so is a bit of a fiddle. Push it right to the end then punch. Pull it out and trim off the extra piece on each side.
Fold on all the score lines, slip the punched scalloped end of the Magenta Madness under the strip of card you have just glued across the card. The scored part of the card will then be on top of the band. Using strong adhesive glue along the top of the scored panel – face down – adhere the piece to the bottom end of the band. This forms the waterfall mechanism.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty, colourful special Waterfall birthday card made using the All Things Fabulous stamp set by Stampin Up!
Using adhesive at the top of each of the coloured panels, adhere them to the small scored strips of the waterfall panel.
I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp some of the sentiments from the You Are Amazing, Approaching Perfection & Good Morning Magnolia stamp sets on to the small panels of Basic White card. Other sentiments were masked and inked up using Just Jade, Magenta Madness and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Markers.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A pretty, colourful special Waterfall birthday card made using the All Things Fabulous stamp set by Stampin Up!
The sentiment panels were added to the Coloured panels using with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
On scrap Basic White card, I stamped a selection of flowers from the All Things Fabulous stamp set. For the larger flower I used 1st, 2nd & 3rd generation Magenta Madness. For the smaller flowers I used 2nd generation Daffodil Delight and Bumblebee, Magenta Madness in 1st and 2nd generation and Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade. The leaves were stamped in Just Jade ink. These were all cut out using my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machune. The flowers and leaves were added to the sentiment panels with liquid glue.

I die cut the numbers form Flowers For Every Season dsp using the Large Numbers Dies whch are sadly retired. These were added to the final, largest panel with liquid glue.

I added a length of White Ribbon from my stash to the scalloped end to work the waterfall mechanism and tied it on with a piece of the Snail Mail Twine. I finished by adding some Gold Glitters Dot to each panel. I added a tiny Magenta Madness dragonfly punched out using the Dragonfly Punch to the front panel.

Today I am sharing a sweet card I made for the special birthday of one of my oldest friends. I used the gorgeous First Frost stamp set and the co-ordinating Frosted Bouquet dies to make a pretty floral card.
Making the card
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Double Z fold First Frost card for a special birthday
I started with 2 pieces of Thick Whisper White cardstock, one measuring 11” by 5½” and the other measuring 9¼” by 4¼”. Using my paper trimmer I scored both pieces at 2 ¾” and 5 ½”. I cut 3 panels of Frosted Floral dsp, one at 5¼” by 5¼” and 2 at 5¼” by 2 ½” and glued these to the larger of the Thick Whisper White card base.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Double Z fold First Frost card for a special birthday
I rounded 2 double corners of the smaller Thick Whisper White panel with the Decorative Trio Punch. I then added panels of Grapefruit Grove cardstock – one measuring 3⅞” by 3⅜” and two measuring 3⅞” by 2½” having rounded the same corners.
I cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock 3¾” by 3¼” and stamped the leaves and sprigs in, 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Old Olive and Grapefruit Grove ink
I cut two panels of Whisper White measuring 2¾” by 2⅜”. I stamped the same leaves and sprigs onto the panels using the Old Olive and Grapefruit Grove inks as before. The stamped panels were then added to the Grapefruit Grove panels using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.com – A Double Z fold First Frost card for a special birthday
I stamped the numbers from the retired Number of Years stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink and die cut them using the Big Shot and the large Number Dies before adding them to the larger stamped panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The words from the same stamp set were stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.
I stamped the lovely roses onto Whisper White cardstock; 1 large and 1 small in Cherry Cobbler and a second small one in Grapefruit Grove. These were then die cut using the Frosted Bouquet dies and the Big Shot. I added the large Cherry Cobbler and small Grapefruit Grove roses to the front panel and the smaller Cherry Cobber rose to the last panel.
I love the colour combo of this card and hope Jo likes it.

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Birthday Blooms stamp set, the Number of Years Stamp set and the Large Numbers dies. These are all retiring from the Annual Catalogue on the 31st of May and I will really miss them. I made this card for my Mum who is celebrating her special birthday in a couple of days.
Making the card
I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock 11” by 5½” which I scored on the long side at 2¾” by 5½” using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I took a 2nd piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock 9¼” by 4¼” and scored it at 2¾” and 5½” on the long side. I then folded and burnished all of the score lines.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Birthday Blooms and Number of Years by Stampin’ Up!
I chose 2 patterns from the Tutti-Frutti dsp stack and cut 2 panels at 5⅜” by 2⅝” and one panel at 5⅝” by 5⅝”. I then adhered these to the larger Thick Whisper White panel leaving a tiny border round each panel.
I then cut panels in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock – one at 4” by 3½” and two at 4” by 2⅝” and Whisper White panels – one at 3⅞” by 3⅜” and two at 3⅞” by 2⅜”.
www.crafty-rootes.com – Birthday Blooms and Number of Years by Stampin’ Up!
On the larger Whisper White panel I stamped the large rose image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set in the lower left hand corner using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the smaller rose image in the bottom left or top right on the remaining Whisper White panels. I coloured the flowers in with the Light & Dark Daffodil Delight and the Light and Dark Old Olive Blends Pens.
I stamped the word ‘birthday’ using Momento Tuxedo Black ink on the on the panel with the small bloom in the lower left hand corner. I took some scrap Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and die cut each of the numbers 3 times using my Big Shot and glued them together to give added dimension. I then glued them to the largest stamped Whisper White panel. The word ‘happy’ and ‘th’ were then stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink either side of the die cut numbers. I rounded one corner of each of the Whisper White panels and the same corners on the Lemon Lime Twist panels using the new Detailed Trio Punch. These panels were then adhered together with Tombow liquid Adhesive and added to the small Thick Whisper White panel. I then glued the 2 main panels together.

To finish off I made an envelope using my Envelope Punch Board and the gorgeous Delightful Daisy dsp which will also retire on the 31st May.
I love the bright, sunny colours used on this card. I really hope my Mum likes it.
