A trio of pots of blooming cacti and The Artfully Layered stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a card for the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

Artfully Layered trio paneled card

I love a leafy stamp set; I don’t know why but they really appeal to me and I have been playing with the Artfully Layered stamp set which is new in the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the artfully layered 3 panel card, you will need:

Evening Evergreen card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 4”
Soft Succulent card – 5” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3 ¾” for the inside
Basic White card – 3” by 2”

Using Evening Evergreen ink, I stamped randomly all over the Soft Succulent card panel.

Stripy Card using the Hand-penned dsp

Today I am sharing a sweet stripy card made using strips of Hand-Penned designer Series Paper (dsp) and gorgeous leafy die from the Artistic Dies.

Colours in this project are:

Hand-Penned dsp strips – 3¾” long and ⅜” or ½” wide
Basic Black card – 5⅞” by ½” x 2
Basic Black card – 5” by 3” to die cut the leaves
Basic White card – 5⅞” by 3¾”

Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop using Gray Granite, Real Red and Cinnamon Cider inks

Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and thank you for joining me for the Colour Combo Blog Hop where you will find lots of inspiration using this month’s colours which are Cinnamon Cider, Gray Granite & Real Red. Don’t you think this is a really unusual colour combo? If you are starting the hop with me or have joined from Amanda Farlinger’s blog, you are very welcome.

To recreate the colour combo card, you will need:

Gray Granite card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner
Real Red card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded lower right corner
Whisper White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 – Rounded lower right corner
Real Red card – 3⅝” by 1⅛”
Whisper White card – 3⅝” by 1”

Taking one of the Whisper White panels and some Post It Notes I masked off a 1” strip about ⅔ up from the bottom.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

I decided to use the Forever Fern stamp set to make my card and started by inking up the largest leafy image with Gray Granite ink. The image was stamped above and below the masked off strip.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Next, I added the round leafed image using the Real Red ink. I filled in the gaps using the 2 smaller leafy images in Cinnamon Cider ink. I love that we have the same image going in different directions.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

To pull the whole thing together I added a scattering of dots from the same stamp set using Gray Granite ink. The Post It Notes were then removed and the whole layer was added to the Real Red layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then to the Gray Granite card base using the same glue.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Forever Fern stamps set used for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

The sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set was stamped on the strip of Whisper White in Real Red ink. I decided it looked unfinished so stamped again on either side of the sentiment using the Gray Granite and Cinnamon Cider inks. I liked that much better.

I love these colours together, don’t you?

Embossed Leaves

Here is a gorgeous embossed leaves card made using the Love of Leaves stamp set and the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder. I love the bright colours and the linen look of the card.

To recreate the embossed leaves card you will need:

Thick Whisper White – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5 ¾” by 4” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 4” by 2½”
Scrap WW

When making a card like this I always start by stamping the largest image and working through the images to the smallest. With this in mind I started by stamping the largest leaf in Granny Apple Green ink. The next leaf was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink, the next in Magenta Madness and the smallest in Daffodil Delight ink.

I stamped one of the smallest leaves in Daffodil Delight ink and die cut it out using my Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine and the Stitched Leaves dies.

The sweet label from the Ornate Layers Dies was cut out of the smallest piece of Whisper White using the Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine.

Cas(E) this Sketch #395 Challenge

Thank you for joining me for the Cas(E) this Sketch Challenge #395. I have chosen to use the All Things Fabulous stamp set to make my card.

To recreate the Cas(E) card, you will need:

Thick Very Vanilla –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Merry Merlot – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Very Vanilla – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Calypso Coral
Scrap Very Vanilla

Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Fabulous Florals Dies I die cut the gorgeous decorative strip from the panel of Calypso Coral card. I adhered the die cut piece to the panel of Very Vanilla using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the sweet flower from the All Things Fabulous stamp set. This is a 3-step stamp, the largest solid image was inked up with Merry Merlot ink, stamped off twice (3rd generation) then stamped onto scrap Very Vanilla card. I stamped the 2nd image in the same ink stamped off once (2nd generation) and the final centre stamp in full strength Merry Merlot ink. They were die cut using the Fabulous Floral dies
