Roses For a wedding Card – Share It Sunday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Share it Sunday Blog Hop where we are sharing a project we have recently been working on. I have chosen to share the card I made celebrate the wedding of friends using their colour scheme of peach and navy. I used the Layers of Beauty bundle to create the card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the roses for a wedding card, you will need:

Night of Navy card base – 10 ½” by 5 ¼”
Country Lace dsp – 5” by 5” x 2 – one for the inside
Basic White card – 4¾” by 4¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Basic White card – 5” by 5” – for the inside
Night of Navy card – 5⅛” by 2 ½”
Basic White card – 5 by 2⅜”
Country Lace dsp – 4⅞” by 2 ¼”
Scrap Basic White card

Using my Paper Trimmer I scored at ⅛” and ¼” on all four side of one of the 4¾” by 4¾” pieces of Basic White card which was placed face down on the trimmer.

The sentiment, from the Everyday Details stamp set was stamped on the same panel in Night of Navy ink in the lower right corner. The panel was then adhered to one of the 5” by 5” layers of Country Lace dsp. The whole piece was then glued to the front of the Night of Navy card front.

The large floral image was stamped on scrap Basic White card in Pebbled Path ink. I used the stencils and Blending Brushes to add colour to the image. The large roses were coloured with Balmy Blue, the Balmy Blue and finally Misty Moonlight. The smaller flowers with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral and the leaves with Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive. The image was then die cut using the Layers of Beauty Dies.

Mini Dimensionals were added to the back of the die cut image and the image was placed on the card front. I lifted the floral image and stamped some ‘dottage’ – from the Country Birdhouse stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink to ground the flowers. The die cut piece was then placed down.

On the remaining 4¾” by 4¾” piece of Basic White card I stamped the sentiment, from the Best Family Ever stamp set in Night of Navy ink and added the small flower from the Layers of Beauty Stamp set with Pebbled Path ink. I coloured the image with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Blends Pens and glued the panel inside.

To create a pocket to hold money/gift card the remaining Basic White panel was adhered to the inside of the card, the strip of Night of Navy card was then added along the bottom and butted up to the left-hand side using Tear ‘n Tape. Make sure the edge is well away from the central scoreline of the card. The dsp layer was then glued to the remaining Basic White piece which was then added to the card.

A White Baker’s twine bow and a scattering of Iridescent Pearls completed the card. I made an envelope to match using a 9” by 9” piece of Country Lace dsp and an Envelope Punchboard.

Please hop on to see what my fellow crafters have been creating recently.

Lighter Than Air dsp – 5⅞” by 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”

Using the Layers of Beauty masks, one at a time, to add colour to the flowers. I used Peach Pie ink and a Blending Brush to colour the large roses. The small flowers were coloured with Highland Heather ink and the leaves with Soft Sea Foam using Blending Brushes each time. Each mask adds another layer of colour creating depth and dimension to the image. The image was then die cut using the Layers of Flowers dies.
