A pretty floral card made for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop using the Dainty Delight stamp set by Stampin' U

Dainty Delight flowers for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we are working with a sketch/colour challenge. I have chosen to make my card using the colours but as Pale Papaya and Pacific Point have retired, I have swapped these for Petal Pink and Azure Afternoon. I also changed Cajun Craze to Copper Clay. I have made my card using the Dainty Delight stamp set.

Colours used in this card are:

Azure Afternoon card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Copper Clay card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Scrap Basic White & Petal Pink

Using Copper Clay ink, I stamped the largest floral image from the Dainty Delight stamp set onto the 5” by 3¼” panel of Basic White.

I used the following Blends Pens to colour in the image – Petal Pink, Copper Clay, Tahitian Tide & Copper Clay.

A piece of Petal Pink Ribbon from the duo pack was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape. The panel was then mounted onto the Azure Afternoon card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped on scrap Basic White card in Tahitian Tide ink and punched it out using the Double Oval Punch. I used the same punch to punch out the slightly larger scalloped oval from scrap Petal Pink card. I glued the 2 ovals together and added them to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.

The solid base image of each pansy was stamped in Lemon Lolly ink and I added the more detailed layer in Daffodil Delight ink. They were stamped on scrap Basic White card. I die cut the flowers using the pansy dies.

Using a Blending Brush, I added a little Cajun Craze ink to the smaller panel of Basic White card. I love the almost blush effect this ink gives to a background.

The flowers were added to the card base on either liquid glue or Dimensionals and the leaves were tucked underneath. The whole panel was added to the Copper Clay layer which was then mounted onto the Lemon Lolly card base.

I added a length of Gold Elegant Trim around the flowers, held in position with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink, covered with White Embossing Powder and Heat set. I trimmed it down and added it to the card front and a trio of Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins completed the card.

I love these colours together, don’t you?
