A clean and simple anniversary card made using the Positive Thoughts stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Anniversary card

It is my wedding anniversary today; my lovely husband and I have been married 36 years………. how quickly time passes when you’re having fun. David likes clean and simple cards, so that is exactly what I made for him.

To recreate the Anniversary card you will need:

Misty Moonlight – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Mint Macaron – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded Upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner x 2
Scrap Misty Moonlight

I inked the beautiful fern image from the Positive Thoughts stamp set using Mint Macaron ink.

Taking a Sponge Dauber and Shaded Spruce ink I added the darker ink to the fern, particularly around the edges. I stamped the image onto one of the Whisper White panels.

The stamped panel was added to the Mint Macaron layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I added the whole piece to the Misty Moonlight card base using the same glue.

The sentiment from the Well Said stamp set was stamped onto scrap Misty Moonlight in Versamark ink, covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. The words were trimmed out with scissors and added to the card on Dimensionals.

Clean and simple card made for the CAS Colour and Sketches #304 Challenge

Needle and Thread – CAS Colours & Sketches #304 Challenge

Today I am playing along with the CAS Colours and Sketches #304 challenge which this week is a colour challenge.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅛” by 3 ¼”. I inked up the double leaf stamp in Crumb Cake ink and stamped it into the lower right corner of the Whisper White panel. I added the larger flower in Real Red ink and stamped a trio of the small flowers in the Balmy Blue ink around the main image. I love the hand embroidered effect these stamps give, they have so much dimension.

Finally I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink. I added the Whisper White layer to a panel of Real Red measuring 5⅜” by 2½” and adhered the whole piece to a Balmy Blue card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Like many people I find clean and simple cards with minimal layering and embellishments so this challenge really pushed me out of my comfort zone. I hope you like it.

Spider Plant from the Sitting Pretty stamps set

Pretty Spider Plant from the Sitting Pretty stamp set

I have made such a sweet card today using the Sitting Pretty stamp set and the lovely spider plant image. I remember these plants so well from my student days………they were the only ones I never managed to kil! Unfortunately I have not been blest with green fingers so I had best stick to stamping my plants.

Making the Spider Plant card

I began by stamping the outline image in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4” by 2⅝”. I stamped the pot in Poppy Parade ink and the spider plant in Granny Apple Green ink, I love this colour combination. I stamped the sweet sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink. I rounded the upper right corner with the Detailed Trio Punch and added the stamped panel to a layer of Poppy Parade card with a rounded upper right corner.

I ran a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3 ⅝” through my Big Shot with the Striped Scalloped Embossing Folder – I love this embossing folder. I added the embossed panel to a Thick Whisper White card base with Multipurpose adhesive then added the stamped panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I felt something was missing and after trying a couple of things I decided to add 2 small flags in Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade cardstock to the upper left side of the raised panel.

I love the simplicity of this card. I hope you like it.
