A gorgeous trio of cards made using the True Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

True Love Class in the Mail

Today I am sharing a trio of sweet cards designed for my True Love Class in the mail. I used the gorgeous True Love designer Series paper (dsp) and offered the ladies a choice of 3 different colours. I also offered Blends Markers in Granny Apple Green and their choice of colour.

Colours used in these projects are:

Scattered Daisy Cards

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” & 2”
Their chosen colour card layer – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
True Love dsp – 5⅛” by 3⅛”
Basic White label die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Ribbon in their colour choice

Colour in some of the flowers on the dsp, keeping it as random as possible.

Wrap the ribbon around the panel and secure the ends on the back with Sellotape. Add the dsp to the coloured card stock layer then to the Basic White card base. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive for this.

The sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped on the label which had been die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The ladies used sentiments and inks from their own stash. The sentiment panel was added over the ribbon using Dimensionals.

A bow was added to complete the card.

Flowers on a Gold Hoop card

Chosen colour card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White layer – 5⅛” by 3⅛” – embossed with Tasteful Textiles embossing folder

Glue the Embossed Basic White panel to the chosen card base and add the dsp strip.

Add the Gold Hoop to the embossed layer using tiny dabs of wet glue to the back or some tape runner.

Fussy cut the flowers from the True Love dsp – or use the pre-cut ones included in the pack. Colour them in and add these to the gold hoop on Dimensionals.

Stamp Sets

A beautiful trio of Christmas card made using the pretty Poinsettia Petals stamp set and Poinsettia dies by Stampin' Up!

Poinsettia Petals Class

We used the beautiful Poinsettia Petals stamp set and Poinsettia dies for October’s classes and made three pretty cards.

To recreate the 3D embossed Poinsettia card, you will need:

Garden Green card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded on the long side at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner.
Real Red – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper left corner.
Real Red – 5⅞” by 4⅛” – for die cutting
Whisper White – 5¼” by 3½” –Rounded upper left corner – for the outside
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner – for the inside

A beautiful Christmas card featuring a pretty 3 D flower. Made using Stampin' Up! products

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and Poinsettia dies

The sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set was stamped in Garden Green ink onto the smaller Whisper White panel. The panel was then run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder.

The embossed layer was added to the Real Red panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the strip of Heartwarming Hugs added using the same adhesive. The whole piece was then added to the Garden Green card front using the same glue.

Using the Poinsettia dies, we cut and embossed the 3 layers of petals from the larger panel of Real Red. We used a sponge Dauber and Cherry Cobbler ink to add depth of colour to the edges of each petal. We used Bone Folders to give the petal shape and adhered the 3 layers together with adhesive.

The flower was added to the card front using liquid adhesive. We used a gorgeous Beaded Pearl to the centre of the flower and a scattering of Red Rhinestones to complete the card.

To recreate the Poinsettia Spray card, you will need:

Real Red card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded on the long side at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner.
Garden Green – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper left corner.
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner – x 2 for the inside and the outside

A beautiful Christmas card featuring a pretty poinsettia flower. Made using Stampin' Up! products

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set

We stamped the full poinsettia flower in Cherry Cobbler ink onto one of the Whisper White panels. Prior to the class I had stamped the same image onto a Post It Note and cut it out to use as a mask.

With the mask in place we stamped the outline leaves in Garden Green ink and added the infill colour in stamped off Garden Green ink. The berry sprig was stamped in Soft Suede ink and infilled with Bumblebee ink before the mask was removed.

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was added in Garden Green ink.

The poinsettia was coloured using Cherry Cobbler and Real Red Blends Markers and the centre was coloured with Mango Melody Blends.

The stamped panel was glued to the Garden Green layer then added to the Real Red card base on Dimensionals and a trio of Red Rhinestones added to complete the card.

To recreate the Merry Christmas card, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded on the long side at 4⅛”
Soft Suede – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Real Red – 3⅝” by 1⅜”
Whisper White – 3⅝” by 1”

A beautiful Christmas card made using the pretty Poinsettia Petals stamp set by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set

We used a 1” wide strip of Post It Note and placed it about 1¼” down from the top of the Whisper White panel.

Starting with the largest image we stamped above and below the Post It Note. The leaves and sprigs were added filling in the space above and below the Post It, building up the texture as we went. The colours we used were Real Red, Soft Suede, Bumblebee, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Pool Party. The Post It strip was the removed.

The stamped panel was glued to the Soft Suede layer and then to the Thick Whisper White card base.

The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green ink onto the 1” strip of Whisper White and the panel was mounted on the Real Red layer with glue and then added to the card front on Dimensionals and a trio of Red Rhinestones added to complete the card.

I really hope you like the cards.

Coming Home stamp set and Homecoming dies used for September 2020 classes - such a versatile set

Coming Home Bundle used for September Classes

It was such fun being able to hold a couple of small, socially distanced classes this week and so lovely to see some of my lovely crafting friends and catch up with their news. I decided to kick classes off by using the very versatile Coming Home stamp set and Home Together dies.

To recreate the new Coming Home card you will need

Gray Granite card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored on the long side at 4⅛”
Gray Granite – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Whisper White – 4 ¼” by 3 ¼”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Scarp Whisper White, Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight

Coming Home stamp set and Homecoming dies used for September 2020 classes - such a versatile set

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty trio of cards made using the Coming Home Bundle by Stampin’ Up!

This card was CASE’d from my lovely upline Mikaela Titheridge – check out her original here  – with a few tweaks of my own.

We embossed the Gray Granite layer using the Brick and Mortar embossing folder and glued it to the Gray Granite card base.

I had die cut ahead of time the stitched rectangle using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The ladies stamped the medium and small house onto the rectangle in Gray Granite ink and added the panel to the card front.

The larger house and the small tree were stamped in the same ink and die cut using the Home Together dies. The following Blends were used to colour in the die cut house and tree – Gray Granite, Just Jade, Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue. The house was them added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I had die cut the heart for the ladies and the words ‘hooray and welcome’ from the Well Written dies. The ladies trimmed off the HO of hooray and the OME of welcome and glued the o’s one on top of the other to create the word HOME. The word New came from the Well Said stamp set  – -time for a NEW adventure and was stamped on scrap Whisper White and trimmed out with scissors. To complete the card we added a White Baker’s Twine bow.

To recreate the row of cars card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored on the long side at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Misty Moonlight – 5¾” by 4” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5¾” by 1½”
Poppy Parade – 6” by 1 ½”
Scrap Whisper White

Coming Home stamp set and Homecoming dies used for September 2020 classes - such a versatile set

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty trio of cards made using the Coming Home Bundle by Stampin’ Up!

I made this card for the son of a friend who has just passed his driving test.

We embossed the Misty Moonlight panel using the brick and Mortar embossing folder and added it to the Thick Whisper White card front.

The car were stamped across the thin strip of Whisper White card in Gray Granite ink leaving space to add the final card after it had been stamped, die cut and coloured.

The Poppy Parade border was cut using the Ornate Borders dies and added to the back of the stamped layer. The whole strip was then added to the card front.

We stamped the sentiment from the Well Said stamp set on a scrap strip of Whisper White in Misty Moonlight ink. The negative scallop from the Poppy Parade border was added as a little pop of colour. To finish we wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the sentiment and tied it in a bow.

To recreate the Snowy House card you will need:

Just Jade card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored on the long side at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Misty Moonlight – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside – rounded upper left corner – one for the inside and one for the outside
Scrap Whisper White

The final card is a Christmas card – yay…… We used a blending brush (you could use a wedge of sponge or a dauber) to add Balmy Blue ink to one of the Whisper White panel. The panel was then added to the Misty Moonlight layer.

We stamped the house and large tree in Gray Granite ink onto scrap Whisper White card and die cut them. They were coloured in using the same Blends Markers.

The houses were positioned on the card front and snowflakes were stamped around the roof before the house and tree were stuck down with Dimensionals. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

A piece of Poppy Parade ribbon was wrapped around the layer and tied in a bow. The whole panel was then added to the Just Jade card front.

Lovely bee themed card made for the January classes using Stampin' Up! products

Golden Honey Bee January Classes

Today I am sharing the cards we made in this months classes using the lovely Honey Bee stamp set and Detailed Bee dies. My husband and I kept bees for many years before our hives were decimated by the varroa bug but we are still eating through the honey they gave us.

Each lady coming to class this month was given a 6” by 6” pack of the Golden Honey designer series paper (dsp) to use in class, the remainder they took home to add to their stash. This dsp is one of the choices you can choose for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue with a £45 order.

To recreate the Inter-Locking Gate Fold card you will need:

Crushed Curry – 11¾” by 4⅛” scored on the long side at 2⅞” at either end
Whisper White – 5⅝” by 4”
Basic Black – 4” by 2⅝” x 2
Golden Honey dsp – 3⅞” by 2½” x 2
Whisper White – 4” by 1” x 3
Golden Honey dsp – 3⅞” by ⅞” x 3
Scrap Whisper White

This card was inspired by a card made by a fellow demonstrator Wendy Cranford.

The ladies chose 2 patterns of dsp, one for the 2 front panels and 3 for the overlapping straps. They cut their cardstock using a Paper Trimmer.

The dsp panels were adhered to either the two Basic Black panels or the three Whisper White panels using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The larger panels were then adhered with the same glue to the front panels of the card.

Lovely bee themed card made for the January classes using Stampin' Up! products

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Sweet card for January classes made using the Golden Honey dsp and the Honey Bee Bundle

They stamped the bee and the flower on on the larger Whisper White panel, adding colour with the dark Daffodil Delight Blends Marker. The panel was then glued inside the card.

The three strips were then added to the cardfront. The top and bottom strip were glued to the left front panel and the middle strip to the right front panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

We used the stamparatus to stamp the bee hive or skep onto scrap Whisper White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, we stamped again using the same ink to get a really black imade. The smaller bee and flower were stamped in the same ink before all three images were die cut.

The hive was attached to the top and bottom strap using a tiny blob of liquid adhesive at the top and bottom of the hive. The bee was glued to the midde strap and the flower added to the side of the hive with liquid adhesive.

To recreate the Trio of Bees card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Crushed Curry – 5” by 3¼” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Golden Honey dsp – 4⅞” by 3⅛” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White – 4¼” by 2⅞” – Rounded Upper Left corner

Lovely bee themed card made for the January classes using Stampin' Up! products

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Sweet card for January classes made using the Golden Honey dsp and the Honey Bee Bundle

The large bee was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink at the top and bottm of the Whisper White panel and the strips coloured in with the dark Daffodil Delight Blends Marker.

The ladies then die cut a large golden bee from the edge of ther 6” panel of dsp – the remaining piece of dsp needed to be 3¾” wide to use on the third card.

The stripes on the golden bee were coloured using the dark Basic Black Blends Marker and the bee added to the middle of the panel on a dimensional. The remaining layers were adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

To recreate the Hive of Bees card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded Lower Left corner
Golden Honey dsp – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded Lower Left corner
Scrap Whisper White card stock

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Sweet card for January classes made using the Golden Honey dsp and the Honey Bee Bundle

The Golden Honey dsp was glued to the card base with multipurpose liquid adhesive.

The stamparatus was used to stamp the bee hive in Crushed Curry ink onto scrap Whisper White. Three bees were also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. All the images were then die cut.

The stripes on the bees were coloured with the dark Daffodil Delight Blends Marker and the hive and bees were added to the card front with Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set was stamped in Crushed Curry ink onto scrap Whisper White card stock and punched out using the Classic label Punch. It was added to the card front with glue.

Having folded and burnished in the score lines we used the ‘spotty stamp’ and Garden Green ink to randomly cover the 2 and 1/16th inch panel.  We stamped the smallest bough in Garden Green ink onto the largest Whisper White panel and adhered it to the inside panel of the card.

We stamped the sentiment using Poppy Parade ink onto the smallest Whisper White panel and die cut it out using the Beautiful Boughs dies.

We inked the medium Whisper White panel using Pool Party ink. The ladies then arranged the die cut boughs and pinecones – I had die cut them ahead of time, adhering them with a little Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The sentiment panel was then added overtop on Dimensionals and the final boughs and pinecones were tucked underneath.

The decorated panel was adhered to the left side of the card using the Liquid Adhesive. A Poppy Parade Ribbon bow was added to the card front with Mini Glue Dots. The envelope was decorated using the small bough.

Using the Pool Party ink and sponges we inked the Whisper White panel keeping the colour lighter nearer the centre. We stamped the large bough all around the inked panel using Garden Green ink.

The Poppy Parade Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape. The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green ink and die cut. A piece of Braided Twine was fed through the the holes of the sentiment label. The sentiment was adhered over the Poppy Parade Ribbon on Dimensionals and the ends of the twine adhered to the back of the panel with Sellotape.

The panel was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Graden Green layer before being added to the Thick Whisper White card base.

The’spotty image’ was then stamped randomly in Poppy Parade ink.

The large bough was stamped in the upper right and lower left corners of the Whisper White panel in Garden Green ink. The sentiment was stamped between the boughs with Poppy Parade ink and a scatter of Pool Party dots were stamped over the boughs.

The stamped panel was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Pool Party layer. The ends of the small strips were flagged and the flags added to the back of the stamped panel.

Using the Poppy Parade ink we stamped the small pinecone in the upper right and lower left corners of the Poppy Parade card base. The stamped layer was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

The inner Whisper White panel and Envelope was decorated using the small bough stamp.

I hope you like the cards

A lovely flap closure Christmas card made using Stampin' Up products

Perfectly Plaid Class Projects

Today I am sharing the cards we made in class this week using the gorgeous Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the co-ordinating Pine Tree Punch. This is a great set, fab for beginner stampers as it is so easy to create great looking cards with this bundle.

To recreate the Front Flap over card you will need:

Real Red or Cherry Cobbler card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
DSP 4½” by 3”
Real Red 6½” by 1” scored at 2½”
Real Red or Gold Glimmer 2¼” by 3½”
Whisper White scrap

A lovely flap closure Christmas card made using Stampin' Up products

www.crafty-rootes.com – Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch used for October classes

We added the dsp to one of Whisper White panels using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and used the same glue to adhere this panel to the front of the card base. Depending on which dsp they were given the ladies used either a Real Red or Cherry Cobbler card base. The tree was stamped using Call Me Clover ink on the Whisper White panel for the inside of the card, on the envelope and on scrap Whisper White. The tree on the scrap cardstock was punched out using the Pine Tree Punch. The ladies die cut an oval from scrap Whisper White and a Glimmer scalloped oval from either Real Red Glimmer of Gold Glimmer using the layering Oval dies. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink near the bottom of the Whisper White oval. The punched out tree was added above on Dimensionals.

We folded the thin red strip on the scoreline and adhered the long side, with the fold just protruding over the edge, to the inside of the card – where you would normally write your message. Adhere the inside panel over the top of the strip to hide it. We closed the card and brought the flap over and adhered the White oval to the front of the strip and added the Glitter scalloped oval to the back of the flap and the white oval hiding the messy bits and the card is finished.

To recreate the Trio of Trees card you will need:

Blueberry Bushel card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Whisper White – 4⅛” by 2½”
Whisper White – 4⅛” by ½”
Real Red Glimmer paper – 4⅛” by ½”

A lovely flap closure Christmas card made using Stampin' Up products

www.crafty-rootes.com – Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the Pine Tree Punch used for October classes

We randomly stamped the small pinecone in Blueberry Bushel ink onto the front of the Blueberry Bushel card base. The skeleton tree was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink  on the front of the envelope, the large Whisper White panel for the inside, twice on the 2½” Whisper White strip and once on scrap Whisper White – this last one would be punched out. Those with a steady hand added the leaf infill using Call Me Clover ink. The punched tree was added to the 2½” strip on Dimensionals and the red glimmer strip added to the bottom. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped on the thin Whisper White strip in Real Red ink and added to the card front with liquid adhesive. The inside panel was added with the same adhesive.

To recreate the Simple Tree card you will need

Call Me Clover card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Whisper White – 5⅜” by by 2¼”
Real Red Glimmer 2¼” by 3½”
Whisper White 2¼” by 3½”

Using the Stamparatus we stamped the Buffalo Check onto the Whisper White strip using Blueberry Bushel ink. The strip was then glued to one of the Whisper White panels. This was then glued to the card front. We die cut a Whisper White oval and Real Red Glimmer scalloped oval using the Layering Ovals dies. The tree was stamped in Call Me Clover ink onto the white oval and the the sentiment added in Blueberry Bushel ink. The ovals were then adhered and added to the card front with dimensionals. The inner layer was glued inside the card.

A lovely trio of autumnal themed cards using the Rooted in Nature stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Rooted in Nature for September Classes

It has felt very Autumnal here this week with cooler weather and the leaves beginning to turn so the cards we made in this weeks classes were very apt. We used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and co-ordinating Nature’s Roots dies.

Embossed Oak card

Smoky Slate card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Basic Black – 3⅝” by 3½” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 3½” by 3⅜” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper right corner
Strip Whisper White ⅜” wide for sentiment

www.crafty-rootes.com The Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots dies for September Classes

We stamped the maple leaf in 1st and 2nd generation Smoky Slate ink down the left side of the card base. We punched a circle from Postit Notes using the 1¼” Circle Punch and used the cirle to mask an area for the moon. Using pieces of sponge we inked the smaller Whisper White panel with So Saffron ink and Mango Melody ink, the Postit circle was then removed.

Using the Stamparatus we stamped the oak tree in Versamark ink, covered it with black embossing powder and heat set it. The stamped panel was then mounted on the Basic Black layer and this was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

Spruce Tree card

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black 4½ ” by 3¾”
Whisper White 5” by 3¼” Vellum 4” by 1”
Scrap WW for tree

www.crafty-rootes.com The Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots dies for September Classes

The lovely spruce tree was stamped on scrap Whisper White with Basic Gray ink and die cut using the Nature’s Roots dies. We also die cut a second tree and the word ‘happy’ from the Well Written dies from the centre of the Basic Black panel making sure to stay away from the edges.

We stamped the cut through ‘tree trunk’ image in So Saffron ink onto the Whisper White panel and added the stamped sentiment from the Well Said stamp set in Basic Gray ink. The strip of Vellum was wrapped around the the stamped layer and secured on the back with Sellotape and the layer was added to the Basic Black panel. The ‘happy’ die cut was then adhered to the Vellum with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The whole panel was adhered with glue to the Thick Whisper White panel. The black tree was slipped under the Vellum piece and glued down. The stamped tree was then off set on Dimensionals.

Trio of Leaves card

Basic Gray card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner
Crushed Curry 5 ” by 3½” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner
Whisper White 5⅜ ” by 3⅝ ” – Rounded upper left and lower right corner

Using the Stamparatus we stamped the centre leaf in So Saffron ink onto the smaller panel of Whisper White cardstock. The other leaves were stamped in 1st and 2nd generation Basic Gray ink using the hinge technique. Love this …….

The sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, again using the Stamparatus. We stamped it twice to give a really dark image. The stamped layer was added to the Crushed Curry layer and then mounted on the card front with Dimensionals.

We glued one of the Whisper White layers to the Bermuda Bay layer and adhered these to the Soft Sea Foam card base.

We stamped the flower in Cherry Cobbler ink onto the Poppy Parade cardstock and die cut it out using the Beautiful Layers dies. We also die cut the doily from the square of Soft Sea Foam and also die cut a leaf from scrap Granny Apple Green cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay onto scrap Whisper White and punched out using a 1” Circle Punch. This was then added to the centre of the doily. The doily was added to the front of the card. The flower was added to the card on dimensionals and covered with Clear Wink of Stella.

Multiple Striped Flower card

Bermuda Bay card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”

We stamped the gorgeous striped floweronto the longer panel of Whisper White ink in Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green inks then filled in the gaps with the leaf image in 2nd generation Granny Apple Green ink.

The Poppy Parade strip was then added to the left hand side and the ribbon wrapped around and secured on the back with Sellotape.

The sentiment was stamped in Poppy Parade ink and punched out with the Timeless Label Punch. A leaf was stamped over the sentiment in 2nd generation Granny Apple Green ink. We punched out another label in Poppy Parade cardstock, cut it down the middle and glued it to the back of the sentiment so that a little red showed at either end. This was added over the top of the ribbon on Dimensionals. We added a couple of die cut leaves.

The whole panel was then added to the Bermuda bay card base.

The Square Topper Card

Soft Sea Foam card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded lower left corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – inside

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Promenade stamp set and Beautiful Layers dies used for June classes

We stamped the frame in Granny Apple Green ink onto the small square of Whisper White and added the floral piece at the top in the same ink. The same floral image was then stamped twice on the scrap Whisper White in Poppy Parade ink and the flowers were then fussy cut using scissors and glued over the green flowers. Some of us inked around the flower edges with Poppy Parade ink and a sponge dauber.

The sentiment was added to the stamped frame and the stamped panel was then glued to the Bermuda Bay square.

Using a T square ruler and a pencil we drew a line down the front of the Soft Sea Foam card base. The rhomboid image was then stamped repeatedly  down the pencil line in Bermuda Bay ink and added a line of rhomboids to the right of the original line. When the ink was dry the pencil line was erased. The square topper was then placed over the top on dimensionals.

All the cards were decorated with Red Rhinestones or Basic Rhinestones coloured in with a dark Poppy Parade Blends Marker.

I really like the colour palette of these cards. I hope you like them.

Lovely floral card made using the First Frost stamp set and Frosted Bouquet dies by Stampin' Up!

First Frost for April Classes

Today I am sharing the cards made at this week’s classes using the First Frost Stamp set and co-ordinating Frosted Bouquet Dies.

Faux Silk Technique card

Lovely floral card made using the First Frost stamp set and Frosted Bouquet dies by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – A gorgeous card made using the First Frost stamp set and the faux silk technique

You will need;
Berry Burst card base – rounded upper left corner
Lemon Lime Twist 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝ x 2 -rounded upper left corner
Tissue Paper 5¾” by 4”
Adhesive Sheet 5¾” by 4”
Scrap Whisper White

We used the Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist Markers to colour in the stamp, huffed on the inked stamp to re-moisten the drying ink and stamped it onto one of the Whisper White panels. We then stamped the larger flower in Berry Burst ink and the smaller flower in Balmy Blue ink onto the scrap Whisper White.

The 2 stamped flowers were then die cut using the Frosted Bouquet dies. The ladies then chose a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, stamped it in Fresh Fig ink onto the scrap Whisper White and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch.

We peeled off the protective backing from the adhesive sheet and laid it, sticky side down onto the stamped panel taking care not to stick it to the grid paper underneath!  We trimmed the excess adhesive sheet using sharp scissors. The scissors were then cleaned with alcohol to remove the glue.

We crumpled the tissue paper into a ball then carefully unfolded it leaving many of the wrinkles. The tissue paper was then laid over the sticky stamped panel and pressed into position; the over-hanging tissue was then trimmed away. The flowers were then added with Liquid Glue or Dimensionals and the sentiment added over top.

This layer was then glued to the Lemon Lime Twist panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The panel was added to the Berry Burst card front with Dimensionals.

We stamped a flower on the inside panel and the envelope and added a scattering of Iridescent Sequins to complete the card.

The Wishing You Well card

Lovely floral card made using the First Frost stamp set and Frosted Bouquet dies by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – A gorgeous floral card made using the First Frost stamp set

You will need;
Lemon Lime Twist card base
Berry Burst 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝ – for the inside – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White 5⅛” by 3⅜” – for the card front –Rounded upper left corner
Fresh Fig 3” by 2”
Scrap Whisper White

Using the scrap Whisper White cardstock we stamped  2 of the leafy images in Lemon Lime Twist, 2 small flowers in Balmy Blue, 1 Berry Burst rose and 2 thistles in Fresh Fig. These images were all then die cut using the Big Shot and the Frosted Bouquet dies.

The sentiment from the First Frost stamp set was stamped in Fresh Fig ink onto the smaller piece of Whisper White and this piece was then die cut using the label dies along with the slightly larger Fresh Fig label. They were then glued together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the Whisper White panel with Dimensionals.

The die cut pieces were then arranged around the label using a combination of Dimensionals and Liquid Adhesive. We cut the leafy images down to give a fuller look and there was a lot of debate about whether the thistle image looked more like beetles or spiders!!!

The decorated panel was added to the Berry Burst layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then glued to the Lemon Lime Twist card base with the same adhesive.

We stamped a couple of the leaf or flower images onto the inside Whisper White layer and the envelope an added a scattering of sequins.

The Faux Masked card

Lovely floral card made using the First Frost stamp set and Frosted Bouquet dies by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – A gorgeous floral card made using the First Frost stamp set

You will need;
Balmy Blue card base – Rounded lower right corner
Fresh Fig 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded lower right corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 – 1 for the inside and 1 for the card front – Rounded lower right corners
Fresh Fig 3⅝” by 1 ½”
Whisper White 3⅝” by 1⅜”

We lined up one of the larger Whisper White panels on the grid paper making sure it was straight. We laid the 1⅜” strip of Whisper White on top and drew pencil lines on either side. This gave us the area on the panel that we needed to added images to.

We began by stamping the largest image, in this case the Berry Burst flower above the top pencil line and below the lower line making sure to overlap the lines.

We then stamped the leafy images in lemon Lime Twist, the small flowers in Balmy Blue and finally the thistles (beetles or spiders!) in Fresh Fig. The pencil lines were then rubbed out.

The sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set was stamped in Fresh Fig ink onto the Whisper White strip and the strip was then glued to the Fresh Fig strip with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This piece was then added to the stamped panel with Dimensionals.

This piece was then glued to the Fresh Fig layer then to the Balmy Blue layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To finish the card off we stamped a couple of the leaf or flower images onto the inside Whisper White layer and the envelope an added a scattering of sequins.
