Spotlight on Stippled Roses – Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop where our projects are inspired by a sketch challenge. I have used the Stippled Roses stamp set to make a variation on the spotlight technique to make my card.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the spotlight on stippled roses card, you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Granny Apple Green card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 3⅝” by ½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Flirty Flamingo card

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I randomly stamped the large image from the Stippled Roses stamp set all over the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card. I used my paper trimmer to cut the panel in two as per the sketch.

Using the following Blends Pens I coloured in the flowers on the smaller panel – Flirty Flamingo, light & dark for the roses, Granny Apple Green, light & dark for the leaves and Soft Sea Foam, light to colour the background and ‘ground’ the images.

The two parts of the card panel were then adhered to the Granny Apple Green layer. A length of Flirty Flamingo Twine was wrapped around the whole panel before the whole layer was mounted onto the Soft Sea Foam card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set was stamped on the strip of Basic White card in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It was added near the bottom of the card.

A small butterfly, die cut from scrap Flirty Flamingo card using the Sketched Butterflies Dies, was added to the card front along with an Iridescent Faceted Gem and a twine bow finished the card.
