Hello and welcome to the first Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Something New’. If you have joined me from …. Blog, welcome. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes and I am near Cambridge in the UK. I have chosen to use the adorable Darling Donkeys stamp set to make my card.
To recreate the something new card, you will need:
Gray Granite card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner x 2 – one for the inside
Flowers For Every Season dsp – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corner
Gray Granite – 4¼” by 2¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 4⅛” by 2⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White scrap
I began by gluing the panel of Flowers For Every Season dsp to one of the large panels of Whisper White using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a piece of the lovely Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around the panel, adhering it on the back with Sellotape. The whole piece was then glued to the Gay Granite card base.
On the smallest panel of Whisper White I stamped the adorable donkey in Gray Granite ink. I coloured it in using the following Blends Markers – Gray Granite, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Ivory.
Using some images from the My Meadow stamp set I added some flowers at the feet of the donkey. He looks so cheeky doesn’t he……. I added the tiny birds in Gray Granite form the same stamp set.
The stamped panel was then added, using the same liquid glue, to the Gray Granite layer and mounted on the card front using Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped in Gray Granite ink onto Whisper White card and punched it out with the Classic Label punch. It was added to the card front with the liquid adhesive.
To complete the card I added a trio of 2020 – 2021 In Color Dots and a bow made using the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon.
I absolutely love the card; I hope you do too.

This stamp and your card reminds me of the children’s book called Ferdinand. It’s a story about a bull but he loves flowers and the cover has him holding a flower in his mouth just like this. I read it to my grandchildren all the time. Have you ever heard of it?
