Ruby Heart Anniversary card

Today I am sharing the card made for my husband – we are celebrating our ruby wedding anniversary (40 years) today.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the ruby heart anniversary card, you will need:

Cherry Cobbler card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Silver Foil – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White, Cherry Cobbler and Silver Foil

I began by making the heart. Using Washi Tape from my stash I taped together the outline and detailed heart dies, from the Friends For Life Dies. I then die cut 3 Cherry Cobbler hearts and 1 Silver Foil heart. I also die cut a solid heat using just the outline heart die.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive I adhered the 3 detailed hearts to the solid heart. I carefully filled in each of the negative spaces in the heart with Fine Tip Glue and set it aside to dry and set.

Whilst the heart was drying – it took about an hour – I embossed the 5¼” by 3½” Basic White panel using the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. I squirted some of the Silver Enamel Effects onto a Silicon Craft Mat and swiped a B block through it before rubbing it over the raised embossing. It just gives a little extra shimmer to the card. The whole piece was then glued to the Silver Foil layer.

A length of Sheer Silver Edged Ribbon was wrapped around the panel before it was adhered to the Cherry Cobbler card front.

When the heart was dry, I added the detailed Silver Foil heat on top and glued the whole heart to the front of the card.

The sentiment, from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink onto scrap Basic White card. I fussy cut the sentiment out and added it straddling the heart with a small piece of Foam Adhesive Strip to either end and a Mini Glue Dot in the middle.

A trio of silver Drusy Adhesive-backed Embellishments finished the card.
