A perching parrot card made using the Pretty Birds and Framed Occasions stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Perching Parrot card

I am loving all the birds, butterflies, dragonflies and bees in my garden at the moment and have made another bird themed card to share with you today featuring a perching parrot.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the perching parrot card, you will need:

Pear Pizzazz card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Tahitian Tide card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner – one for the inside
Basic White card – 2½” by 2½”
Scrap Basic White & Tahitian Tide

I stamped the sentiment, from the Framed Occasions stamp set, in Starry Sky ink onto scrap Basic White card. Using the same ink I stamped the hexagonal frame, from the same stamp set around the sentiment and die cut it using the Beautiful Shapes Dies.

I placed the die cut hexagon onto one of the Basic White panels and drew around the edges lightly with a pencil.

The spay of larger leaves were stamped in Soft Sea Foam ink on either side of the pencilled in hexagon. I added the sprig using Pear Pizzazz ink. The pencil marks were then rubbed out and the sentiment added on Dimensionals. The whole panel was then glued to the Tahitian Tide layer and then to the Pear Pizzazz card front using liquid glue.

The parrot from the Pretty Birds stamp set was stamped in Starry Sky ink onto scrap Basic White card and coloured using Blends Pens. I used Soft Succulent for the head, Parakeet Party for the chest and back and Tahitian Tide for the wing and tail feather. The beak was coloured with Pale Papaya and the little bit above the beak and the feet in Crumb Cake. I used the Birdhouse Dies to die cut the bird and added it to the card front on Dimensionals.

Ink Pad Boxes for the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop where we are sharing 3 D projects. I am sharing the box I created to hold a Stampin’ Up! Ink pad. For every sixth class my customers attend they get to choose an ink pad of their choice and I decorate this box to match their colour choice.

The two largest butterflies were coloured with Pool Party ink and the smaller with So Saffron ink. The dragonfly wings were coloured with Pale Papaya ink and Mint Macaron ink. All the insect bodies ere coloured with Gray Granite ink. The sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set was stamped in Pool Party ink.

Using my Take Your Pick Tool, I pushed up all the pop-up pieces before using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere the decorated panel to the slightly larger Basic White panel.  I wrapped a length of White Baker’s Twine around the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape.

I stamped flower from the Simply Fabulous stamp set in Pale Papaya ink in the upper left and lower right corners of the Pale Papaya card front. The decorated panel was added over-top on Dimensionals.

A Baker’s Twine Bow and a trio of Fine Sparkle Gems were added to the card front. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the butterflies and dragonfly and finished with a bit of Wink of Stella splatter.

Love these soft colours together. Such a pretty card.

A pretty floral card made using the pretty Vintage Christams stamp set for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Vintage Bottle card for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we have been given a colour challenge. I have chosen to use one of the sets I pre-ordered from the July – December Mini Catalogue called Vintage Christmas. I do love a set that co-ordinates with something I already have and this set pairs with the Vintage Bottle Punch.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Vintage Bottle card, you will need:

Melon Mambo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Starry Sky card – 3¾” by 2⅜”
Basic White card – 4” by 2¾”
Basic White card – 1½” by 1½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

I began by stamping the taller bottle with Starry Sky ink onto scrap Basic White card and punching it out using the Vintage Bottle Punch.

Using Tahitian Tide ink, I stamped the smaller bottle onto the 4” by 2¾” panel of Basic White card. I placed the punched bottle overlapping the stamped bottle, for placement and stamped the trio of flowers in Melon Mambo ink.

Using Parakeet Party ink, I stamped the single sprig around the flowers. I deliberately didn’t ink up the berries at the base of the sprig. The flower centres were added using the same ink. The tall bottle was then glued to the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole panel was then die cut using a Stitched Rectangle Die. The stitched rectangle was then glued to the Starry Sky panel.

Using the trio of flowers, I stamped in the upper left and lower right corners of the Melon Mambo card base using Melon Mambo ink. At this point I decided I needed more white in the background so I cut the 1½” square of Basic White card on the diagonal and added one triangle to the upper left corner and the other to the lower right corner of the stamped panel.

The stamped piece was then added to the card front on Dimensionals. The sentiment, from the Cup of Tea stamp set was inked up in Starry Sky ink and stamped onto scrap Basic White card. I then trimmed it out, flagging the ends before I added it to the card front.

A bow made from the In Color Twine and a trio of Glossy Dots completed the card.

I hope you like it. Please continue to hop along to share the inspiration provided by my stamping friends.

The Ringed With Nature by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty new home card

New Home card

The new home card I am sharing today was made using the Ringed with Nature stamp set which will be available in the July – Dec Mini Catalogue for the 1st July. I saw the stamp set and realised the sweet little house image would be perfect for the card I wanted to make for my ex-neighbours. They moved into rented accommodation last Autumn having sold their own house. They have now found a house near their children and are moving into their new home next month.

Colours used for this project are:

To recreate the new home card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Basic Gray card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5 ¼” by 3 ½”
Starry Sky card – 3” by 3”
Basic White card – 3” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

Using a Blending Brush, I applied Pool Party ink to the scrap piece of Basic White card.

The house was stamped in Starry Sky ink and the roof added in Basic Gray ink. I then die cut the image using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

I die cut a slightly larger scalloped circle from the Layering Circle Dies and glued the two circles together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The smaller Basic White panel was embossed using the In The Clouds Embossing Folder and glued it to the Basic Gray panel. A length of Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape. The whole panel was glued to the Pool Party card base with liquid glue.
