The image of a tower of macarons from the Birthday Goodness stamp set makes a sweet shaker card

Birthday Goodness

I have been playing with the Birthday Goodness stamp set this week and have made a really sweet shaker card for my sister in laws birthday.

To recreate the Birthday Goodness card you will need;

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Rococo Rose cardstock 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White cardstock 5⅜ by 3⅝” x 2
Rococo Rose cardstock 4¾” by 3¼”
Window Sheet 5” by 3½”

I die cut a rectangle from the centre of one of the Whisper White layers using a Rectangle Stitched die. Using the same die and the next one up I die cut the frame from the smaller panel of Rococo Rose cardstock.

The image of a tower of macarons from the Birthday Goodness stamp set makes a sweet shaker card

www.crafty-rootes.com – A gorgeous shaker card made using the Birthday Goodness stamp set

I stamped the tower of macarons in Basic Gray ink onto the die cut stitched rectangle and coloured it in using the following Blends markers – Rococo Rose combo, Seaside Spray combo and Crumb Cake combo……….don’t they look good enough to eat!

I glued the Rococo Rose frame to the Whisper White frame using Multipurpose liquid Adhesive and added the window sheet to the reverse using Mini Glue Dots.

The larger Rococo Rose panel was added to the card front using the same adhesive. Placing the ‘frame’ onto the card front I added the same adhesive to the back of the stamped piece and nestled it inside the frame. The frame was then lifted away abd foam adhesive strips added all round the rectangular aperture making sure to leave no gaps.

I placed a pinch of the Woven Threads Seqiuns on top of the stamped image and added the frame over the top. The sentiment was stamped on basic Gray ink and added to the card front with Mini Glue Dots.

The inside of the card and the envelope were stamped with the tower of macarons in the Basic Gray ink.

Such a pretty card. I hope you like it.

Sweet gingham Magnolia cards using Stampin' Up! products

Checked Magnolias

I have been messing about with my Stamparatus and various background stamps this week. I love being able to re-stamp these large images to achieve a richer, more colour saturated look. Here are a couple of the projects I came up with.

To recreate the checked magnolia cards you will need;

Thick Whisper White card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White cardstock 5 ½” by 3 ¾”

Seaside Spray card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Blueberry Bushel cardstock 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Whisper White cardstock 5 ½” by 3 ¾” x 3
Scrap Whisper White

Using the Stamparatus I stamped the large Buffalo Check image in Seaside Spray ink onto one of the Whisper White panels. I repeated the stamping with another panel of Whisper White and Blueberry Bushel ink.

The large magnolia bloom was then stamped over the top of both panels in Memento Tuxedo Black.  To get a good dark image these were stamped 2 or 3 times.

I die cut both the magnolias using the Magnolia Memory dies.

I mounted the Seaside Spray checked panel to the Blueberry Bushel layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added the Blueberry Bushel magnolia into the negative space on Dimensionals and added the whole piece to the Seaside Spray card base. The sentiment was stamped in Seaside Spray ink.

I glued the die cut Seaside Spray checked Magnolia to the remaining Whisper White layer, wrapped a piece of ⅛” Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom of the layer. The sentiment was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink and the entire layer added to the Thick Whisper White card base on Dimensionals.

A lovely cheerful thank you card featuring Hot Air Balloons and Stampin' Up! products

Above the Clouds

Oooh this is such a cute card made using the Above the Clouds stamp set and Hot Air Balloon Punch. I love balloons they always look so serene drifting across the sky. I was lucky enough to take a balloon ride over the Valley of the  Kings in Egypt a few years ago, a truly magical experience.

To recreate the Above the Clouds card you will need;

Night of Navy card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded lower right corner
Poppy Parade 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded lower right corner
Whisper White 5½” by 3¾” – rounded lower right corner x 2
Night of Navy 5½” by ⅛” x 2
Scrap Whisper White and Crumb Cake

I used Post It tape to mask off an area on one of the Whisper White panels. I dabbed a bit of Balmy Blue ink and Blueberry Bushel ink onto a clear block and added a little glycerine. This makes the ink gone on more smoothly and gives a better blended effect. I applied the inks using Sponge Daubers starting with the Balmy Blue and adding in the Blueberry Bushel towards the bottom. I left the panel to dry.

I stamped the outline balloons in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then stamped the solid infill colour in Poppy Parade ink and Pineapple Punch ink and punched them out using the Hot Air Balloon Punch. The baskets were stamped in Crumb Cake onto Crumb Cake cardstock and punched them out as well.

A stunning see through daisy card made using the Medium Daisy Punch by Stampin' Up!

Floating Daisies

Today I am sharing a sweet card inspired by Jennifer McGuirre’s see through layered die cuts video –

To recreate the floating daisies card you will need

Window sheet – 11¾” by 4⅛” – scored at 5⅞”
Scrap Whisper White
Scrap So Saffron
Scrap Sparkle Glimmer

The trick with this style of card is to hide the adhesive so that it isn’t seen. I chose to use the Medium Daisy Punch to make my card.

A stunning see through daisy card made using the Medium Daisy Punch by Stampin' Up!

www,crafty-rootes.com – A see through card made using the Medium Daisy Punch

I began by scoring and burnishing the Window Sheet card base, this needs a firm hand when it comes to burnishing as you want the card to be flat.

I punched out 14 of the medium daises using the punch and adhered them to the inside of the card front using a Mini Glue Dot in the centre of each flower. I placed then randomly across the front with some of the flowers hanging over the sides. The spare pieces were trimmed off using my sharp scissors.

A stunning see through daisy card made using the Medium Daisy Punch by Stampin' Up!

www,crafty-rootes.com – A see through card made using the Medium Daisy Punch

Using Sparkle Glimmer paper and the ½” Circle Punch I punched the same number of circles as I had flowers. I added a Mini Glue Dot to the back of the glimmer paper and added them to the centre of each flower on the outside of the card front. This effectively hides all the glue dots.

I cut 4 of the sweet little label from the Smooth Sailing dies set; 2 for the front of the card and 2 for the back of the card.

A stunning see through daisy card made using the Medium Daisy Punch by Stampin' Up!

www,crafty-rootes.com – A see through card made using the Medium Daisy Punch

I stamped the sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and adhered it to the front of the card using Mini Glue Dots. I added a plain label to the back side of the card front making sure it was lined up with the label on the front so that it would not be seen.

Another label was positioned on the inside of the back panel of the card to enable me to write a short message to the recipient. To hid the Mini Glue Dots I adhered another label to the reverse of the back panel, again directly behind the other labels.

I added a final punched daisy to the bottom of the label on the card front using a dimensional to add a little fore depth to the card.

I really like how this card turned out and the photographs do not do it justice. I hope you like it.

A sweet shaker card made using the Magical Mermaid stamp set

Magical Mermaid for a special Shaker Card

Today I am sharing a sweet card made using the Magical Mermaid stamp set. This is a special card for a friend who loves being a mermaid, she has even entered the Miss Mermaid competition and has a fabulous tail. I have used the Inspire Create challenge #047 sketch for this card.

To recreate the Magical Mermaid card you will need;

Coastal Cabana card base – 10” by 5” scored and folded at 5”
Highland Heather cardstock 4¾” by 4¾”
Whisper White cardstock 4½” by 4½” x 3
Window Sheet 4” by 4”
Scrap Whisper White and Shaded Spruce

I sponged Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Highland Heather inks onto one of the Whisper White panels. I used a little glycerine mixed with the inks to help them blend smoothly. I stamped the sea foliage on the inked panel in Mossy Meadow ink.
