A lovely floral gilded art card made using Stampin' Up! product from the new Jan-June 2021 catalogue

Gilded Art for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where our theme this month is ‘New Goodies’. I have chosen to make a gilded art card for you. With the January – June 2021 and Sale-A-Bration catalogues coming out on the 5th January and lots of goodies from my pre-order to play with, I have been spoilt for choice. If you have hopped on from Karen Egan I am sure you loved her project

To recreate the gilded art card, you will need:

Just Jade card base – 8¼ by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Gorgeous Grape – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Scrap Whisper White

I really, really wanted to play with the gilding flakes but didn’t have any Heat & Stick Powder – so I improvised by sticking strips of Tear & Tape along all 4 sides of one of the Whisper White panels. I removed the backing and covered the tape with the flakes, rubbed them onto the tape with my fingers to remove the excess flakes and bring out the shine. I absolutely love the effect.

I wrapped a length of Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon around the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape. The whole panel was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

The solid part of the flower was stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink onto scrap Whisper White card and the more detailed layer was added using the same ink. The centre of the flower was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink. Using the Floral Gallery Dies I cut out the flower and added it to the card front on Dimensionals.

Joseph's Coat Technique used to make a Fireworks at New Year card for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

Fireworks at New Year

Hello and welcome to the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop where our theme is ‘New Year’s Eve Party’, I have used the gorgeous Beauty Abounds stamp set and the Joseph’s Coat technique to suggest a night sky lit up with fireworks at New Year.

To recreate the Fireworks at New Year card, you will need:

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Daffodil Delight – 5½“ by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 3

I used daubers to cover one of the Whisper White panels with splotches of colour using the Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pacific Point and Just Jade ink pads.

Joseph's Coat Technique used to make a Fireworks at New Year card for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Fireworks at New Year using the Joseph’s Coat Technique for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

Next, I randomly stamped the larger bokeh dot image from the Beauty Abounds stamp set across the same panel, rotating the stamp each time. I then covered the panel with Clear Embossing Powder. The embossing powder was the heat et using my Heat Tool.

Joseph's Coat Technique used to make a Fireworks at New Year card for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Fireworks at New Year using the Joseph’s Coat Technique for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

I then used my Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad to swipe across the embossed panel until the whole piece was covered with a heavy layer of black ink………and yes, I did get really, really messy…… Taking a small, damp cloth I wiped each or the embossed images clean of black ink revealing the gorgeous vibrant colours underneath.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Fireworks at New Year using the Joseph’s Coat Technique for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

Using the Playful Alphabet Dies I die cut the word HAPPY and the numbers 2021 from Foam Adhesive Sheet. Using washi tape to hold the letters together I die cut the word HAPPY and the year 2021 from the embossed and inked panel.

Each letter or number was then stuck to its foam counterpart. The embossed panel was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to another of the Whisper White panel. Using a Basic Black Marker I inked around the edges of the panel – in hind sight I would have been better to have used a Basic Black Panel – before adhering it to the Daffodil Delight layer with the liquid glue.

The die cut letters were then placed back in the negative spaces and the embossed patched painted with Clear Wink of Stella and voila, the card was finished.

A pretty strawberry lolly card made using the Sweet Strawberry stamp set and Berry Delightful dsp by Stampin' Up!

Strawberry Lolly for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampers Showcase blog hop, our last one of 2020 and this month’s theme is ‘Sale-A-Bration’.  I really, really wanted to use the gorgeous Berry Delightful dsp – can’t believe it is a free sale-a-Bration choice along with the co-ordinating stamp set Berry Blessings.

If you have hopped over from Wendy Lee Or you are starting with me, Mo Rootes I hope you will find lots of inspiration on this hop.

To recreate my strawberry lolly card, you will need:

Poppy Parade – 9½” by 4” scored at 4” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5¼” by 3¾” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 3⅞ by 3⅞” – Rounded upper right corner
Berry Delightful dsp – 3¾” by 3¾” – Rounded upper right corner
Granny Apple Green – 3” by 3”
Whisper White 3” by 3”
Whisper White 5½” by 1” – scored at 1”
Oh So Ombre dsp – 4¼” by ¾”
Scrap Whisper White

The piece of Berry Delightful dsp reminded me of a picnic blanket my parents had when I was a child, summer days and strawberries…… I can’t wait….

I adhered the dsp to the square panel of Whisper White card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used the same glue to add the panel to the card front.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -Strawberry Lolly themed card using Sale-A-Bration Berry Delightful dsp for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

I took the long thin strip of Whisper White, folded on the 1” score line and glued the 1” square tab to the inside of the card base.  I stamped the strawberry in Poppy Parade ink and the top in Granny Apple Green ink onto the largest panel of Whisper White card and adhered it to the inside of the card to hide the stuck down tab.

I glued down the Oh So Ombre dsp- another free choice in the Sale-A-Bration brochure – to the front of the Whisper White strip using the liquid glue.

I stamped the row of trees across the smaller Whisper White panel in Misty Moonlight ink. I used first and second generation in, i.e. full strength and stamped off once. I added the ‘ground’ image in the same ink. Using a wedge of Sponge, I lightly added Misty Moonlight ink over the panel to suggest a misty day.

My Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine was used to die cut 3 of the tall trees. The Soft Sea Foam tree was cut from scrap card. The Shaded Spruce and Silver Foil trees were cut from the middle of the 2 layering pieces – no-one will ever know……

The stamped layer was then added to the Shaded Spruce layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then added to the Silver Foil layer on Dimensionals.

Using the snow image and Misty Moonlight ink I stamped around the edge of the Misty Moonlight card base before adding the topper piece to the card front with the liquid glue.

The 3 die cut trees were then added with liquid adhesive to the card front. The sentiment was stamped onto scrap Whisper White card and trimmed out with scissors before being added to the card front on Dimensionals.

Customer Thank You cards – For Kylie Bertucci’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog.  My name is Mo Rootes from Cambridge in the UK and I am thrilled to be taking part in my first blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci’s demonstrator training program. The theme for the hop is ‘Thank You’ and I am sure you will find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us

You may be starting here or have come from another blog – either way you can find the hop list at the bottom of this post so please hop along with us today.

To recreate my Customer Thank You card you, will need:

Merry Merlot card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Oh So Ombre dsp – 4¾” by 3¼” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White card – 4½” by 3” – Rounded upper left corner
Whisper White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Scrap Whisper White

This month my customer thank you cards feature a couple of sneak peaks showing new product which will be available from the 5th January 2021 in the January – June 2021 mini catalogue and the January – February 2021 Sale-A-Bration Brochure. My ladies love a sneak peek.

I began by stamping the stem and leaves from the gorgeous new stamp set called Art Gallery stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink onto the smaller Whisper White panel. The panel was then run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I love the texture this gives to the layer.

The stamped and embossed panel was added, with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the Oh So Ombre dsp – one of the free choices with a £45 order in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

I used a piece of the Ornated Garden Ribbon to wrap around the panel, adhering it on the back with Sellotape. Yes, I know the ribbon is Old Olive but it tones so well with the Granny Apple Green ink that I think I can get away with it..  The whole piece was then added to the Merry Merlot card base using the same liquid glue.

The flower is a 3-step image and I started by stamping the solid image in Flirty Flamingo ink. I added the more detailed image in Merry Merlot ink and finished with the small, centre in Early Espresso ink. Doesn’t it look fabulous….. I cut is out using the co-ordinating Floral Gallery dies and added it to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink, cut it out with one of the sweet labels from the same die set and added it to the card with liquid adhesive. The pearls were coloured with a Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker and added to the card front to complete the card.

I hope you and my customers like the cards.

Please hop on to see what my fellow demos have to share with us today.
