Simply Hand-penned for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hog

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where the theme is ‘simple stamping’. If you have hooped on from the lovely Gez Carpenter I am sure you loved her project. I usually find simple stamping a bit of a challenge, can’t resist using lots of layers and bling. I made s simply hand-penned card using the lovely new Hand-penned Petals stamp set and it was so easy to create a sweet but simple card with this set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the simply hand-penned card, you will need:

Soft Succulent card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” x 2

I stamped the sweet image in Evening Evergreen ink onto one of the smaller Basic White panels.

Using the in-fill stamps I coloured the large flower with Polished Pink ink, the smaller flower with Pale Papaya ink and the leaves in Soft Succulent ink. I love these new colours.

Color & Contour stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a pair of cards using a modified one sheet wonder

Modified One Sheet Wonder

Today I am sharing 2 sweet floral cards made using a modified one sheet wonder (I only used ½ a sheet of card stock) and the new Color & Contour stamp set. This set is so versatile and so easy to use. I also used the gorgeous new 2021 – 2023 in colors.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the modified one sheet wonder cards, you will need:

Basic White card 7¾” by 5½”
Scrap Basic White for the sentiments

Polished Pink card base
Soft Succulent 5⅝ by 4”
Basic White 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

Evening Evergreen card base
Polished Pink 5⅝” by 4”
Basic White 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I began by stamping the outline large flower in clusters of 3 down the centre of the large panel of Basic White. I used Evening Evergreen ink and 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping.  The flowers were in-filled using the solid stamp and Polished Pink ink, again using 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping.

The outline spray of flowers was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink, I chose not to ink up the full stem of this image. The infill colour for this image was stamped in 1st generation Pale Papaya ink

Next, I added an outline bud in 1st and 2nd generation Soft Succulent ink and added the Fresh Freesia ink as the fill in using 1st generation only.

The speckles were added in 2nd and 3rd generation Soft Succulent ink. When all this was done, I cut the panel in half on the long side at 3¾”. I wrapped a length of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around one of the panels.

I trimmed the Polished Pink piece on the left-hand side as I had managed not to cut the panel straight. They were then added to the Evening Evergreen and Polished Pink card bases on Dimensionals. I added a small piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon to the Evening Evergreen card.

The sentiments came from the Many Messages stamp set, stamped using a Stamparatus on a panel of Basic White card and die cut using the Messages Dies. I keep the spares in a box for when I need a small sentiment, like today. They were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The chosen sentiments were added on Dimensionals to the card front.

Stampin' Up! Meadow Dies coloured with Sponge Daubers to make a stunning thank you card

Colorful Meadow for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing a colouring technique. I have made a lovely Colorful Meadow card using the Meadow Dies. You are currently with Mo Rootes from near Cambridge in the UK.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the colourful meadow card, you will need:

Smoky Slate card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4 ⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Poppy Parade – 5” by 3 ¼” – Rounded upper left corner
Basic White – 4⅞” by 3⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper left corner
Scrap Basic White

Taking the smaller Basic White panel and the spotty stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set I randomly stamped in Smoky Slate ink. I die cut a number of the Meadow Dies from scrap Basic White.

www.crafty-rootes.com -The stunning Meadow Dies used with Sponge Daubers to make a pretty thank you card

Using Sponge Daubers, I added colour to each flower. I used Old Olive and Just Jade inks for the stems and leaves.  The larger flower was coloured using Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler and the smaller flower coloured with Bumblebee and Poppy Parade. I dabbed the colour on and carefully and lightly sponged it over the die cut taking care not to bend or tear the fragile die cut pieces.

To recreate the sweet cherry blossom card, you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card – 7 ¾” by 3⅞” – scored at 3⅞” on the long side – Rounded upper right corner
Flirt Flamingo card – 5⅝” by 5⅝” – Rounded upper right corner
In Good Taste dsp – 5½” by 5½” – Rounded upper right corner
Flirty Flamingo card – 5⅝” by 4⅝” – Rounded upper right corner
Fine Art Floral dsp – 5½” by 4½” – Rounded upper right corner
Basic White – 3¾” by 3¾” x 2

I began by putting the larger, outer card together. The layers of dsp were glued to the slightly larger panel of Flirty Flamingo card before being glued to the Blushing Bride card base.

The inner card was put together in the same way. The dsp was glued to one of the Basic White panels and added to what would become the flap over card front. The smaller card was then lined up onto the open larger Blushing Bride and glued in position,

Using the sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set, I stamped it in Early Espresso ink onto the second panel of Basic White. I added the flower and leaf from the Forever Blossoms stamp set and coloured it in using Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow & So Saffron Blends Markers. The panel was then glued to the inside of the smaller Flirty Flamingo card.

I stamped the large cherry blossom bough onto scarp Basic White card in Early Espresso ink. I used the same Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow & So Saffron Blends Markers to colour in the image.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White card and trimmed out. I tucked the sentiment under the bough.

To complete the card, I added a trio of Basic Rhinestones which I have coloured using the dark Flirty Flamingo Blends Marker.

Seashells for the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share blog hop where we have a sketch challenge. I love a sketch challenge as they often push me out of my comfort zone and have used the sketch to make a sweet Seashells themed thank you card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Seashells card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4
Fine Art Gallery dsp – 5⅞” by 2”
Basic White – 5⅝” by ½”
Night of Navy – 4” by 2”
Basic White – 4” by 2”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White

I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to glue the Fine Art Gallery dsp to the Pool Party card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in Night of Navy ink onto long strip of Basic White strip. And used the same glue to add it to the card front.

Using the Banner Triple Punch to flag the 2” strips of Night of Navy and Basic White card and trimmed them down to the size I wanted using my Paper Trimmer. These were adhered together with the liquid glue and added flat to the card front.
