Masked Seashells card for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where we are sharing masking techniques. I have chosen to make a simple card using the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the seashells card, you will need:

Gray Granite card base – 8¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Blackberry Bliss card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Blackberry Bliss card – ¼” strip

Using Gray Granite ink, I stamped the small shell onto the smaller white panel. I covered it using a mask. I made this by stamping the same shell onto a Post It Note with as much of it on the sticky part as possible and trimmed it out using Scissors.

The largest shell was then stamped over the mask in Blackberry Bliss ink. I made a second mask using the large shell and placed it over the stamped shell.

The Polished Pink shell was then stamped over the mask.

The 2 masks were removed and a scatter of sand added in Gray Granite ink using the dotty image.

I stamped the same dots in the upper left corner of the panel and again in the upper left corner of the Gray Granite card base.

I placed the stamped panel face down onto my trimmer and embossed a line along the bottom and right side using my scoring blade.

I wrapped a piece of Gray Granite Ribbon around the stamped panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape.

The stamped panel was then glued to the Blackberry Bliss layer and added to the Gray Granite card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink on the strip of Blackberry Bliss card, covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool. The sentiment was added to the card front with liquid glue.
