An Autumnal Flowers thank you card made for the Giving Thanks Blog Hop using the Inspirational Sketches stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Autumnal Flowers card – Giving Thanks Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Giving Thanks Blog Hop. There are so many things I am thankful for: my lovely family, my friends, the friendly village I live in and lots more. I have made an Autumnal flowers card for one of my lovely friends using the Inspirational Sketches stamp set and some seasonal colours.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the Autumnal flowers card, you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Mossy Meadow card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Mossy Meadow card

I stamped the cluster of flowers all over the 5” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card in Early Espresso ink. I also stamped the same image in Soft Sea Foam ink onto the upper left and lower right corners of the Soft Sea Foam card front.

Using Blends Pens I coloured in the images. The large flower was coloured with light and dark Pumpkin Pie with a little dark Cajun Craze. The medium flower was coloured with light and dark Wild Wheat and the final flower with light and dark Cherry Cobbler. The centres were coloured with the darkest natural tones blends or pecan pie blends. The cherry cobbler flower centre was coloured with dark Soft Sea Foam.

The leaves were coloured in using light and dark Mossy Meadow Blends. Using all the light Soft Sea Foam I coloured in all the remaining white space, it looked too bright against the rich colours of the flowers.

The stamped panel was then glued to the Mossy Meadow layer. A length of Linen Thread was wrapped around the panel, twice before it was adhered to the Soft Sea Foam card front with Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink onto scrap Mossy Meadow card. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. Using one of the labels from the Changing Leaves Dies I die cut the sentiment. I ran it through twice as I wanted the label to be shorter. The sentiment was then added to the card front.

A pretty thank you card.made using the Grassy Grove stamp set from Stampin' Up! along with some ink blending

Pretty Deer card

Here is a pretty card made using the deer from the pretty Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending. This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest a long time ago.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the deer card, you will need:

Peach Pie card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Early Espresso card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White card

The trio of trees image was stamped in the upper left and lower right corner of the Peach Pie card base with Peach Pie ink.

www.crafty-rootes.com – The Grassy Grove stamp set used with some ink blending to make a pretty thank you card.

Using strips of Masking Paper I masked off ¾” on the left side and the bottom of the 5” by 3¼” panel of Basic White card.

A pretty thank you card.made using the Grassy Grove stamp set from Stampin' Up! along with some ink blending

www.crafty-rootes.com – The Grassy Grove stamp set used with some ink blending to make a pretty thank you card.

I used a Blending Brush to add Melon Mambo ink to the corner of the masked area. Next, I added Peach Pie ink letting it fade off. The masking paper was then removed.

A pretty thank you card.made using the Grassy Grove stamp set from Stampin' Up! along with some ink blending

www.crafty-rootes.com – The Grassy Grove stamp set used with some ink blending to make a pretty thank you card.

The pair of trees were stamped in Early Espresso ink, overlapping the edge of the ink blended area. The deer was also stamped in Early Espresso ink.

A pretty thank you card.made using the Grassy Grove stamp set from Stampin' Up! along with some ink blending

www.crafty-rootes.com – The Grassy Grove stamp set used with some ink blending to make a pretty thank you card.

The stamped panel was then glued to the Early Espresso panel. At this point I decided to stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso directly onto the panel………. Big mistake as it wasn’t straight…… So I stamped it again onto scrap Basic White card and die cut it using one of the dies from the Greetings of the Season Dies. This cut down and glued over the original stamped sentiment.

I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around the top of the panel and added some 2024 -2026 In Color Shimmer Gems.

Such a pretty card.

To recreate the petunia pop changing leaves card, you will need:

Petunia Pop card base – 8¼” by 5⅝” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Gray card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Basic Gray card

Using the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder, I embossed the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card. I glued the embossed panel to the Basic Gray layer.

A length of Petunia Pop Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape. The whole panel was then glued to the Petunia Pop card base.

The large leafy spray was then stamped onto scrap Basic White card using Petunia Pop ink. I die cut the leafy spray using the large die from the Changing Leaves Dies. I glued it on top of the same leafy spray on the embossed panel.

The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto scrap Basic White card and die cut it using a label from the Unbounded Love Dies. I added this to a scrap of Basic Gray card which I trimmed down to leave a small border.
