A pretty, floral fun fold card made using the new Pretty Petals stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Pretty Petals Fun Fold card

I have been playing with the new Pretty Petals stamp set and Dies which will be available from the 7th January from my online store. I have used it to make a pretty floral birthday card.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the pretty petals fun fold card, you will need:

Mossy Meadow card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Fresh Freesia card – 4” by 1⅞”
Berry Burst card – 4½” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

Using my paper trimmer, I cut across the card front to the scoreline 2” from the bottom. I then cut down the central scoreline leaving the 2” flap at the bottom.

The panel of Fresh Freesia card was embossed using the Perfectly Plaid 3D Embossing Folder and glued to the front flap of the Mossy Meadow card base.

Using the retiring Deckled Rectangle I die cut a rectangle from the 4¼” by 3” piece of Basic White card and a slightly larger deckled rectangle from the panel of Berry Burst card.

The leafy spray was stamped on the Basic White rectangle using Mossy Meadow ink and the 2 rectangles were then adhered together. The rectangular panel was then added to the bottom flap of the card front.

I inked the group of flowers with Fresh Freesia ink and added Berry Burst ink to the base of the petals using a Sponge Dauber. The flowers were then stamped scrap Basic White card. These were then die cut using the Pretty Petals Dies. The flowers were the added to the card front with liquid glue or Mini Dimensionals.

The Forever Blossoms Stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty birthday card featuring the split image technique

Split Image Technique for the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

I have been playing with the split image technique today having seen a great tutorial from Gail Ellis of Blue Rose Paper Treasures . I have used to Forever Blossoms stamp set to create my cards. If you have hopped over from the lovely Gez Carpenter, welcome. You are also very welcome if you are starting the hop with me.

To recreate the split image cards, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left and lower right corners
Magenta Madness – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded upper left and lower right corners
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left and lower right corners x 2
Basic Black – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Magenta Madness – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2

I took one Whisper White panel and the Basic Black panel – it is important that they are exactly the same size. I placed the White panel in my Stamparatus and stamped the image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I removed the white panel and replaced it with the Basic Black panel. I inked the same image using Versamark ink and closed the panel to stamp the image. The image was then covered with White Embossing Powder and heat set using my Heat Tool.

The 2 stamped panels were then placed, one on top of the other in my Trimmer and cut at 1¼”.

Taking 2 of the remaining Whisper White panels and glued the larger Basic Black piece and the smaller Whisper White pieces onto the spare Whisper White panels. Repeat with the other 2 pieces making sure to line up the images.

The whole piece was added to the Magenta Madness layer using the same Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around each panel securing it on the back with Sellotape. A bow from the same ribbon was added with a Mini Glue Dot.

I Stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set on the Basic Black panel and then stamped the same sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the Whisper White panel. I added a trio of In Color Enamel Dots to complete the cards.
