A scary Halloween card made using the Sweetest Star stamp set and the Sweetest Star Punch for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

A Scary Boo card – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop. Our theme this month is ‘Ghosts and Goblins’ which is always a bit of a challenge for me as Halloween is not a big deal in the UK so I don’t have any Halloween stamp set. After a bit of thought I settled on using the Sweetest Star stamp set to make my card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the scary boo card, you will need:

Peach Pie card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Old Olive card – 5¼” by 1¾”
Basic White card – 4” by 3¼”
Gorgeous Grape card – 3⅞” by 3⅛”
Basic White card – 3¾” by 3”
Old Olive card – 3” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Gorgeous Grape and Basic Black card

The ‘gingerbread’ stamp from the Sweetest Star stamp set was stamped all over the Peach Pie card front with Peach Pie ink. I flagged the end of the strip of Old Olive card and added it to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using the So Swirly Embossing Folder I embossed the 3¾” by 3” piece of Basic White card. I swiped the Peach Pie ink pad over the debossed side to add colour to the panel before adhering it to the Gorgeous Grape panel and then to the 4” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card. This was then glued to the card front.

I stamped the ‘gingerbread’ image with Versamark ink onto the piece of Old Olive card, covered it with White Embossing Powder before setting it with Heat Tool. The image was then punched out using the Sweetest Star Punch. Using a Blending Brush, I added Old Olive ink to the edges of the punched-out image before adding the image to the card front on Dimensionals.

From scrap Gorgeous Grape and Basic Black card, I die the letters BOO. I glued the Gorgeous Grape letters onto the Basic Black letters, slightly off set to give a shadow. The word was then added to the card front.

Beautiful Halloween – Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamper’s Showcase blog hop. My name is Mo Rootes and I live outside Cambridge in the UK. Our theme this month is Fall/Autumn/Halloween – such a great choice. I have opted to make a beautiful Halloween card using the Life is Beautiful stamp set.

To recreate the Beautiful Halloween card you will need;

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Mango Melody – 5½ ” by 2¾” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 2⅝” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Scrap strips of Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight & Rich Razzelberry

Using the Stamparatus I stamped the tree image from the Life is Beautiful in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I actually stamped it 3 times to get a good dark image.

I used a blending brush – you could use sponges – to apply ink to the smaller Whisper White panel. I started with Daffodil Delight at the bottom, moved on to Mango Melody then Rich Razzelberry. I finished by adding Misty Moonlight across the top and around the edges to darken in up.

The shrubs from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set were added in Memento Tuxedo Black as was the ground from the Life is Beautiful Stamp set. I didn’t have any bats the right size so added the birds from the Sailing Home stamp set in the same ink

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was stamped  in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a strip of Mango Melody  card and added to the card front. Hopping Around the World Blog Hop Halloween card using Life is Beautiful stamp set

Halloween – Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop where our theme is Halloween. If you have hopped over from Rachel Macleod,  welcome.  In the UK Halloween isn’t really a big deal, certainly not on the card front so I enjoyed the challenge of coming up with a suitable card.

To recreate the Halloween Card you will need:

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White – 5¾” by 4”
In Good Taste dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Scrap Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce and Whisper White

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive I glued the ‘In Good Taste’ dsp to the larger Whisper White panel and then to the Basic Black card front.

I used my new Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine and the Wreath Dies to die cut three wreaths – 2 shrubby wreaths one in Gorgeous Grape and the other in Pumpkin Pie and one leafy wreath from Basic Black card. I used the liquid glue to adhere the 3 wreaths together.
