Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner for the inside

Bright Leaves for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

May be an image of text that says "Stamp 'n Hop Current Stampin' Up!® Only OCTOBER Mini Catalogue"

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Mini Catalogue’. My favourite stamp set at the moment is the beautiful Gorgeous Leaves, any one who knows me knows I am a sucker for leaf sets……….don’t know what it is about them, just love leaves.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the bright leaves card, you will need:

Polished Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Merry Merlot card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Merry Merlot card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I decided on which size circle die I was going to use for my sentiment and where I was going to position the sentiment on the card – then I drew round the inside of the die lightly with a pencil. This means I know where I need to position my images.

Using the large speckled stamp, I stamped around the pencil line in 2nd generation Blushing Bride. I just wanted a little of this colour in the background.

I then added the other leaves one colour at a time starting with the largest in Merry Merlot ink. Next came Polished Pink ink then Smoky Slate ink.

The tiny flowers were stamped in Basic Gray or Merry Merlot, I inked up one flower at a time. The stamp panel was then adhered to the Merry Merlot panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sentiment, from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto a circle die cut from the square of Basic White card using my chosen size of circle die. I adhered the stamped sentiment to a slightly larger Merry Merlot scalloped circle with liquid glue then cut the side off using my Paper Trimmer. It was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

Scrap Bumblebee, Garden Green, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede, Gold Glimmer

Using the Intricate Leaves Dies and my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I cut a selection of leaves and branches from the Bumblebee, Garden Green, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede & Gold Glimmer card stock.

I arranged the leaves on one of the Very Vanilla panels before adhering them down with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I find it really helps to have a dry run first, laying the leaves and branches in position and moving them around until I get the look I am after before committing myself.

The decorated layer was then added to the Bumblebee panel with the same liquid glue. I used the same glue to attach the panel to the Soft Suede card base.

I added loops of gold Elegant Trim using a couple of strips of Tear ‘n Tape to adhere the trim in place.

The sentiment from the Welcoming Woods stamp set was stamped in Soft Suede ink onto the small piece of Very Vanilla card and die cut it out using one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies. The tag was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

So pretty, I hope you like it.

Birds

I couldn’t wait to try out the Birds & Branches stamp set and this is what I have come up with for my first play.

To recreate the Birds & Branches card, you will need:

Balmy Blue card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White – 4⅛” by 2⅞”
Cinnamon Cider – 4⅛” by ½”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

I stamped the long branch in Cinnamon Cider ink and added a side branch. The detailed bird was stamped in Old Olive ink and the full bird in Balmy Blue and I added the bird’s feet in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I felt the panel was too bare so I added more branches in the same Cinnamon Cider ink. The ‘leaves’ were inked using the following Stampin’ Write Markers – Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Bumblebee.

Using a Sponge, I lightly added Balmy Blue ink to take away the starkness of the background.

Using the Ornate Borders Dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I cut out the dotted border from the strip of Cinnamon Cider ink and added it to the back of the stamped panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I used the leaf stamp and Balmy Blue ink to add some tone on tone stamping to the Balmy Blue card base. The stamped panel was then added to the card base with the same liquid adhesive.
