The Above it All stamp set and Fragrant Forest background stamp by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty card

Above The Forest card

Here is a cute card made by combining the Fragrant Forest and Above It All stamp sets. During the Summer my husband and I were in Cortina, Italy with friends and we were lucky enough to ride up the mountains in the gondola of a cable car just like the one I stamped.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the above the forest card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pretty Peacock card – 5¼” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅛” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

I stamped the Fragrant Forest background stamp in Shaded Spruce ink onto the 5⅛” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White card. The stamped panel was then glued to the Pretty Peacock layer.

The Botanical Layers stamp set by Stampin Up! used to make a trio of striped botanical cards

A Trio of Striped Botanical cards

Here are a trio of striped botanical cards inspired by cards made by Dena Rekow of the Creativity Cave. I love the look of this technique and wanted to use it to make an anniversary card for my husband.

Colours in these cards are:

To recreate these cards, you will need:

3 card bases – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner – I used Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia
3 Basic Black card – 5⅛” by 3⅜” – rounded upper left corners
3 Basic White card – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corners
3 coloured panels – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corners – I used Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia
3 Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corners

I used a Stamparatus to stamp the image from the Botanical layers stamp set, any stamp positioner would work. The 3 panels of 5” by 3¼” Basic White card and the coloured panels of the same size were mounted on the platform, one at a time and the image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on each layer.

The coloured panels were then cut down in ½” increments starting at the bottom. The first ½” piece was discarded and the 3 other ½” strip in each colour were put to one side.

Taking one of the ½” strips from each colour, I lined them up on the stamped Basic White panels making sure that the pattern matched and glued them in place. This was repeated for all three panels.

The Earthen Textures stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty card picturing an ornamental pot full of grasses

Ornamental Pot full of Grasses

I have been playing with the new Earthen Textures stamp set today, this was at the top of my wish list when the new catalogue launched. I do love a plant pot and these are gorgeous.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the ornamental pot card, you will need:

Boho Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Wild Wheat card – 5” by 3½”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

I stamped the grasses, randomly all over the front of the Boho Blue card front in Boho Blue ink, love a bit of tone on tone!

I stamped the spray of grasses onto the white label in Wild Wheat ink. The pot was stamped onto scrap Basic White card in Boho Blue ink and fussy cut using sharp Scissors – yes I know there are dies, and I do have them but I had the scissors out before I remembered! The pot was added over the grasses on Dimensionals.

The decorated label was laid onto the Wild Wheat label and I decided I didn’t like the wide border, so I got out my trimmer and trimmed off an ⅛” off all sides, much better. The two labels were then glued together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the card front using the same glue.

I added the smallest dotty image randomly in Berry Burst ink. The stamped panel was then glued to the piece of Fresh As A Daisy dsp using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. A length of Gold Elegant Trim was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape.

The sentiment, from the Artistically Inked stamp set, was stamped in Berry Burst ink onto the strip of Basic White card. I glued the strip of Lost Lagoon scrap along the bottom and added the sentiment to the card front.
