Lovely & Sweet card for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where our theme is ‘What is Old … is New Again’……. We were to choose a project we had previously made and remake it using current product. I narrowed it down to 2 or 3 options before finally settling on this card which was on my blog on 13th January 2023.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the lovely and sweet card, you will need:

Parakeet Party card – 5⅞” by ½” x 2
Basic White card – 4½” by 4”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

Using the Basic Borders Dies, I die cut the zigzag edge into one of the 5⅞” by ½” strips of Parakeet Party card. I added this border to the right hand side of the panel of Softly Stippled dsp. I added the other strip as a straight edge on the other side of the dsp. The whole piece was then glued to the Pebbled Path card base.

Parakeet Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Shaded Spruce card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 3½” by 1½”
Shaded Spruce card – 3¾” by ⅜” x 2
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

Using a T square ruler, I marked off a strip 1½” wide near the top of the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card using a pencil. This would act as a guide when I began stamping.

I began by stamping the trio of leaves image in Garden Green ink, above the top pencil line and below the bottom pencil line.

The other leaves were added one at a time, starting with the largest and working down to the smallest. Each leaf was stamped in a different shade of green. I used Lemon Lime Twist, Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce & Mossy Meadow. The pencil lines were then erased.

The stamped panel was glued to the Shaded Spruce layer and then to the Parakeet Party card front.

The sentiment, from the Phrases For All stamp set was inked up – HAPPY with Parakeet Party and BIRTHDAY with Shaded Spruce ink. This was stamped onto the 3½” by 1½” piece of Basic White card. I glued the thin strips of Shaded Spruce card to the sentiment panel. The whole piece was mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

A double bow, made using the Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon and the Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon, was added to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.

A scattering of Iridescent discs completed the card.
