Box of cards and tags for a Christmas Project class

Christmas Project Class

Today I am sharing the projects made by the ladies who came to my Christmas themed adult education all day event today. I had 5 tables set up and the ladies moved around from table to table making all 8 cards and 8 tags and the cute box to hold them all.

Lovely card made using the Abstract Impressions stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Abstract Impressions for September Classes

This month’s classes focused on the gorgeous Abstract Impressions stamp set and co-ordinating Springtime Impressions thinlit dies. Although the weather in the UK has cooled down I didn’t feel ready yet to do a Christmas class and this fabulous set was just what I needed for some summery flower card.

Thank You card

For the first card we started with a panel of Whisper White measuring 4” by 2⅝”. We stamped the more solid of the leaf stalk images in Lemon Lime Twist ink and added the more detailed image on top in Granny Apple Green ink. The ladies loved the fact that they did not have to line up the images, indeed abstract is definitely the way to go. We then inked up the solid spray of blossoms in Grapefruit Grove and stamped off once onto grid paper before stamping above the leaves, this gives a lighter shade. The more detailed flower image was then stamped on top in full strength Grapefruit Grove ink.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Abstract Impressions and Springtime Impressions for a card class

Using the Detailed Trio Punch we rounded the upper left corner of the stamped panel and the same corner of a piece of Grapefruit Grove cardstock 4⅛” by 2¾” before adhering them together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Taking the solid flower spray image we inked it in Granny Apple Green ink and stamped onto opposing corners of a Granny Apple Green card base. The sentiment was stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and was punched out using the Tailored Tag Punch. Using the same punch we also punched a piece of Highland Heather cardstock. This piece was cut in half using scissors and the pieces glued to the top and bottom of the sentiment. This piece was then added to the stamped panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using the Tailored Tag Punch we banner ended a piece of Whisper White and Highland Heather cardstock 4⅛” by ¼”, cut each piece in half and glued them  to the card front. The stamped topper was then added to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Birthday Card

We started by running a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” through the Big Shot using the new Embossing Mats and the huge floral corner die from the Springtime Impressions. The ladies absolutely loved this new technique. We then stamped the large abstract flower onto the embossed piece in Grapefruit Grove, 3rd generation for the base layer, 2nd generation for the middle layer and full strength for the final layer. We also stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.

We stamped the smaller flower onto the embossed panel in Highland Heather ink, 2nd generation for the solid image and full strength for the detailed image. We stamped the same image again onto our scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and onto a Stitched Oval from the Stitched Shapes dies.

Next we stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink and added a Highland Heather flower to the die cut oval. We stamped a few leaves in Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist ink and added the stitched oval to the embossed panel.

Using the Detailed Trio Punch we rounded the bottom right corner of the embossed panel, a panel of Highland Heather measuring 5½” by 3¾” and a Grapefruit Grove card base and adhered all the layers together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The Stitched Oval was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the extra flowers fussy cut and added with glue.

Butterfly Card

We began by a placing a die cut Stitched Oval onto a Thick Whisper White card base and drawing round it. We then inked up the larger flower in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Grapefruit Grove, the smaller flower in 1st and 2nd generation Highland Heather and a variety of leaves in Granny Apple Green ink. The trick with this sort of card is to stamp all the images partly inside the oval and partly outside the oval and to start with the largest image and finishing with the smallest images.

We die cut the butterfly from the Springtime Impressions dies and added it to the Stitched oval with a small strip of dimensionals and added a bow made from the ⅛” Grapefruit Grove ribbon. The oval was then added to the card front with dimensionals.

This is such an unusual colour combo but looks so bright and summery. I hope you like the cards.

Gorgeous trio of cards using Blended Seasons Stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Blended Seasons Classes

Today I am sharing the cards we made during this month’s classes. We used the gorgeous Blended Seasons stamp set and the co-ordinating Stitched Seasons dies. This set is only available until the 31st August or while stocks last so if you like it don’t wait to buy it. I decided to use this set to do a masterclass in colouring using Blends, Watercolor Pencils with Blender Pens and ink pads with Aquapainters.

Card 1 – Blossoms

The first card was very straight forward but to ensure everyone got a crisp stamped image we mounted the stamp onto the Stampartus. We stamped onto a panel of Whisper White measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. The ladies then chose a duo of Blends Pens to colour the flowers and a second set to colour the leaves. The sample used the Cherry Coober duo for 2 flowers and the Poppy Parade duo for the 3rd flower. I used the Granny Apple Green duo for the leaves.

Using the Detailed Trio Punch we rounded the upper left corner of the stamped panel and a panel of Basic Gray measuring 5½” by 3¾” and adhered the two together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. We stamped the sentiment in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Using the Blends pens we coloured some pearls to co-ordinate with the coloured image and added them to the panel before adhering it to a Thick Whisper White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Card 2 – Christmas!!!!!

In my opinion it is never too early to make Christmas cards and thankfully my ladies were prepared to indulge me! We began by taking a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and die cutting the middle stitched shape from the gorgeous Stitched Seasons dies. These are lovely dies used on their own but absolutely stunning when layered together.

Gorgeous Christmas card using Blended Seasons Stamp set by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – Blended Seasons stamp set used for August classes

We stamped the sentiment and the holly boughs in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto the die cut Shimmery White piece and coloured them in using the lovely Watercolor Pencils from the original set and the set currently available until August 31st. We then blended the colour with Blender Pens.

Taking a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock 5¼” by 3½” we stamped the sweet leaf image in the left upper and right lower corners using Garden Green ink and adhered the label to a Thick Whisper White card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. We added a strip of Cherry Cobbler 5⅞” by ⅜” across the centre and added the coloured panel on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. We added a scattering of coloured Basic Pearls to the panel.

Card 3 – Autumnal Easel

We started making this card by die cutting the lovely stitched frames using the Big shot. The largest shape was cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the medium size from Shimmery White cardstock. We also die cut the sweet leaf shape from the Stitched Seasons dies from Copper Foil Paper.

We stamped the gorgeous leaf image in Versamark ink onto the Shimmery White die cut piece and covered it with Copper Embossing powder which we heat set with the Heat Tool……….and yes most of us remembered to use the Embossing Buddy.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Blended Seasons stamp set used for August classes

We used Cherry Cobbler ink pad, Pumpkin Pie ink pad, Crushed Curry ink pad and Garden Green ink pad and Aquapainters to colour in the image. Love the effect watercoloring gives and the fact that you can layer up the colour to get a rich, intense colour. WE stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink before adhering the stamped layer to the Cherry Cobbler layer.

We added the panel to a card base of Thick Whisper White 11¾” by 4⅛”, scored at 2 15/16ths and 5⅞”. You need to make sure you only add glue to the bottom half of the panel or the card fold won’t work properly. The copper leaf is then added to the inside of the card on Dimensionals to act as a stopper. We added coloured Basic Pearls to finish the card.

July Classes featuring the Love What You Do stamp set and Share What You Love dsp by Stampin' Up!

Love What You Do for July Classes

Today I am sharing the projects we made in this month’s classes using the Love What You Do stamp set and Share What You Love designer series paper (dsp).

July Classes featuring the Love What You Do stamp set and Share What You Love dsp by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – Love What You Do and Share What You Love by Stampin’ Up!

Card 1 – scatter of flowers

We started with a layer of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5¼” by 3½” and stamped the large watercolor image in 2nd generation Pool Party ink. Second generation is when you ink up a stamp, stamp onto scrap paper then stamp the 2nd generation, or 3rd or 4th generation, onto your project.

I inked up the small flower images in Rich Razzelberry ink and stamped them from the bottom left to the top right of the Pool Party stamped image. Taking a Blender Pen and the Rich Razzelberry ink pad I coloured in the small flowers.

The sentiment from the Hand Delivered stamp set was stamped in Rich Razzelberry ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock 2” by ⅜” and trimmed a banner end using my Paper Snips. I added the sentiment to slightly larger piece of Rich Razzelberry cardstock and tucked a cut down piece of Pearlized Doily  behind using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. This was added to the stamped panel on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The whole panel was then added to a piece of Rich Razzelberry cardstock 5½” by 3” and adhered this panel to a Thick Whisper White card base on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a scrap of Rich Razzelberry and Pool Party cardstock to the lop left hand corner of the stamped panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive after banner ending with paper Snips. Finally I added a small bow made with White and Silver Baker’s Twine.

Card 2 – Embossed background

We took a 5” by 3⅝” panel of Pool Party cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Lovely Floral Embossing folder. This panel was then adhered to the right hand side of the Thick Whisper White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Taking the 3½” by 2¾” panel of Whisper White cardstock we stamped the Watercolor image in 2nd generation pool Party ink in the centre. We inked up the largest flower and stamped it in Rich Razzelberry ink and added the 2 leaves in Pool Party ink. This panel was then added to a layer of Rich Razzelberry cardstock 3⅝” by 2⅞” with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Taking a small piece of the Share What You Love dsp we flagged one end and adhered it to the embossed Pool Party layer. The stamped panel was then added over the top on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment from the hand Delivered stamp set was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White 2½” by ⅜” and added to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Card 3 – Thank You card

We again stamped the watercolor image in 2nd generation Pool party ink onto a panel of Whisper White 4” by 2¾” and stamped the flower image overtop in Rich Razzelberry ink. We also stamped the flowers in Rich Razzelberry ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. After colouring the flowers in using the Rich Razzelberry ink pad and Blender Pens we cut them out using paper snips and adhered them to the stamped panel. We added the stamped panel to a piece of Rich Razzelberry cardstock4 ¼” by 2” and set it to one side.

We added a piece of Share What You Love dsp to the front of a Pool Party card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesivebefore adding the stamped panel overtop on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Rich Razzelberry ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock measuring 2” by 1” and added this to the card front using Multipurpose liquid Adhesive and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

The ladies really enjoyed making these cards. I hope you like them.

Varied Vases for June Classes

Varied Vases for June Classes

For my June classes I have focused on the gorgeous new Varied Vases stamp set and the co-ordinating Vases Builder Punch and we made 3 super cute cards. I also chose to use the fab new 2018 – 2020 In-Colors which look great together and are so bright and summery.

Varied Vases for June Classes

www.crafty-rootes.com – Varied Vases for June Classes

Card 1

We began the first card by stamping the largest solid vase using Blueberry Bushel ink onto a square of Whisper White 2¾” by 2¾”. We then stamped the outline vases using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink. The gorgeous hanging orchid was also stamped in the Momento Tuxedo Black ink. In some classes we stamped the inside of the flowers using the Pineapple Punch ink and others coloured the blossoms in with the Pineapple Punch Marker – love this colour.

We ran the 5⅞” by 2” panel of Pineapple Punch cardstock through the Big Shot using one of the Petal Pairs Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.  We then stamped a sentiment just below using Blueberry Bushel ink.

Using the Decorative Trio Punch we rounded the upper left corner of the stamped panel and on a panel of Blueberry Bushel cardstock 3” by 3” and adhered the panels together using the Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The whole panel was added to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Varied Vases for June Classes

www.crafty-rootes.com – Varied Vases for June Classes

Card 2

We began by stamping the scalloped shelf in Lovely Lipstick ink towards the bottom of a Whisper White panel 4½” by 2¾ ”. The sentiment was stamped below this in either Lovely Lipstick or Blueberry Bushel ink.

We stamped the sweet patterned vase in Blueberry Bushel ink and punched it out using the co-ordinating Vases Builder Punch. We also stamped the 3 vases from a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  The stamped vase was then placed face down roughly where the ladies wanted to place it and the flower stem was then stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and like magic, when you turn the vase over the stem is perfectly positioned! We added the white vases either stamped of the stamped vase using Tombow.

We coloured the flowers in with the Lovely Lipstick Marker. Taking the starry flower stamped we inked it up in Lovely Lipstick ink and stamped in the upper left and lower right corners on the front of the Thick Whisper White card base.  The stamped layer, Blueberry Bushel Layer (4¾” by 3”) and the Thick Whisper White card base had the upper left hand corners rounded using the Decorative Trio Punch. The stamped layer was adhered to the Blueberry Bushel layer with Tombow Liquid Adhesive and the panel then added to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Varied Vases for June Classes

www,crafty-rootes.com – Varied Vases for June Classes

Card 3

Taking a panel of Whisper White cardstock we stamped the scalloped shelf in Blueberry Bushel ink. We then stamped the vases in Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove ink, in some classes we added the outlines in Momento Tuxedo Black ink, and other classes opted not to do this.

We stamped the flowers on the Momento Tuxedo ink making sure only to ink up the top part of the stem and coloured in the flowers with the 2018 – 2020 In-Color Markers. We stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink and stamped it onto a ⅜” strip of Whisper White cardstock and cut it down to fit.

We rounded the upper left corner of all the layers in the same way as the previous cards and adhered the layers with Tombow and added the panel to the Thick Whisper White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The ladies loved these cards; they are so bright and cheerful. Hope you like them.
