I have been creating cards for the Christmas Stampathon and this month’s theme is to use flowers on our Christmas cards and to make a minimum of four. I used pretty Merriest Moments stamp set and co-ordinating Merriest Frames Dies & Hybrid Embossing Folder to make my cards.
To recreate one merriest moment’s card, you will need:
Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam card and envelope Basic White card – 5⅞” by 4⅛” Scrap Basic White card
Using the Merriest Frames dies and the hybrid Embossing Folder I embossed and simultaneously die cut the gorgeous decorated frame from the large panel of Basic White card.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Merriest Moments stamp set & co-ordinating Merriest Frames dies and hybrid embossing folder used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
I then used the detailed outline die and the stitched rectangle die from the Merriest Frames dies to cut around the detailed foliage and the centre panel.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Merriest Moments stamp set & co-ordinating Merriest Frames dies and hybrid embossing folder used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
The detailed framed piece was then glued to the front of the Soft Sea Foam card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Merriest Moments stamp set & co-ordinating Merriest Frames dies and hybrid embossing folder used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
The sentiment, from the Joyful Flurry stamps set was stamped in Garden Green ink in the centre of the stitched rectangle. This was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Merriest Moments stamp set & co-ordinating Merriest Frames dies and hybrid embossing folder used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
I stamped the 2 parts of the poinsettia flower with Real Red ink onto scrap Basic White card. I also stamped the large and medium holly leaves in Garden Green ink, the leafy sprig in Soft Sea Foam ink and finally the pine spray in Smoky Slate ink. I then die cut everything.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Merriest Moments stamp set & co-ordinating Merriest Frames dies and hybrid embossing folder used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
The poinsettia flowers were shaped using my Bone Folder and the smaller one added on top of the larger one using a Mini Dimensional. The flower was then added to the card front with liquid glue. The leaves and sprigs were then tucked in around the flower.

A Brushed Metallic Dot added to the centre of the flower to complete the card.
Such a pretty card, I hope you like it.

Today I am sharing the cards made for my November classes featuring the gorgeous Christmas Pinecones Dies. I don’t know about you, but I looked at the large intricate dies and wondered how I could use them ….. other then the obvious – die cut, add to the card front and slap a sentiment in the middle. I wanted to show my ladies the versatility of cutting the die cut piece apart.
The first thing we did was to die cut the large detailed foliage die from a ¼ sheet of Garden Green card. This is the piece that we cut apart and used on all our cards.
We always start with the fiddliest, most complicated card first, the idea being that we get this over while we are still concentrating!!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Christmas Pinecones Die used to make 3 rustic pine cone and foliage themed Christmas cards for November 2021 classes
We embossed panel the narrow Garden Green panel using the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and one of the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders and added it to the smaller front flap of the Soft Succulent card base. The Gold Foil strip was then butted up to it.
We used either the pinecone or sprig to decorate the large Basic White panel and glued it to the inside of the card
We added glue to the left-hand side of the Crumb Cake scalloped rectangle – which I had cut ahead of time using the Scalloped Contour Dies, and added it to the left flap of the card base.
The sentiment, from the Christmas to Remember stamp set was stamped in Garden Green onto the white card, die cut using one of the labels from the Seasonal Labels dies and add to the Crumb Cake panel on Dimensionals.
The detailed pinecone (gold) and Soft Suede pinecone base – cut by me ahead of time using the Seasonal Labels Dies, were glued together then and added to the label front with glue and/or dimensionals.
We then snipped apart the foliage from the large die cut and tucked sprigs behind the pinecones.

We flagged the ends of the Crumb Cake layer and added it to the Garden Green card base.
We embossed the Soft Succulent panel as above and added the panel to the smaller Basic White layer and added the strip of Gold Foil to the side. This piece was then mounted on the card front on Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped on the label, which I had die cut ahead of time and added to the card front on Dimensionals.
We assembled the die cut pinecones and added then with sprigs of foliage behind the label.

We embossed the garden green panel with the same Wintry 3D Embossing Panel and added it to the Crumb Cake card front. The Gold Foil strip was added above it
The sentiment was stamped on the previously die cut label and added to the card front on Dimensionals.
We assembled the die cut pinecones and added then with sprigs of foliage onto the top of the label.

I really love Christmas and Christmas crafting and am sharing an evergreen Christmas tree card made using the Evergreen Elegance stamp set paired with the Natural Textiles stamp set and Scalloped Contour Dies.
To recreate the evergreen Christmas tree card, you will need:
Smoky Slate card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Shaded Spruce card – 5⅞” by 3” Basic White card – 5⅞” by 2¼” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” Basic Gray card – 2” by 1¼”
I inked up one of the gorgeous background stamps from the Natural Textiles stamp set in Smoky Slate ink. I stamped off twice before stamping the image down the left and right side of the Smoky Slate card front.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A gorgeous evergreen trees Christmas card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and using Sale-a-Bration product
I inked the same stamp again with the same ink, stamped off once then stamped onto the strip of Basic White card. I repeated this 3 times covering the whole panel.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A gorgeous evergreen trees Christmas card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and using Sale-a-Bration product
Using the tall tree, I stamped in Shaded Spruce onto the bottom of the stamped strip in 1st and 2nd generation ink. This step was repeated to fill up the bottom of the panel.
Using the Scalloped Contour Dies, I cut the scalloped border using the Shaded Spruce card and added it behind the stamped layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A gorgeous evergreen trees Christmas card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and using Sale-a-Bration product
I wrapped a piece of Silver Mesh Ribbon around the panel and tied it in a bow, securing the bow with a Mini Glue Dot.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A gorgeous evergreen trees Christmas card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and using Sale-a-Bration product
The sentiment from the For Unto Us stamp set (so happy this set has returned) was stamped in Versamark ink onto the small piece of Basic Gray card, covered in White Embossing Powder and heat set using a Heat Tool. I used a Tailor-Made Tag Die to cut out the sentiment, I actually shorted the die cut as it was too long, and added it under the bow with a Mini Glue Dot.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A gorgeous evergreen trees Christmas card made for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and using Sale-a-Bration product
I added a trio of Holiday Rhinestones to complete the card. I love it, so pretty.

Thank you for joining me today for the very last Joy of Sets Blog Hop where our theme is ‘Christmas Music’. I chose the carol – ‘In the Bleak Midwinter, frosty winds may moan. Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone’ and chose the Snow Front stamp set to create my snowy/icy scene. If you have hopped over from Gez Carpenter or started with me, you are very welcome.
To recreate the In the Bleak Midwinter card. you will need:
Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Shaded Spruce – 4” by 3” Whisper White – 3¾” by 2¾” Soft Suede – 3” by 1⅜” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
I began by randomly stamping the group of trees from the Snow Front stamp set in Balmy Blue ink across the Balmy Blue card front to add a bit of texture. I added the panel of Soft Suede card to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and set it aside.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop
The mountains from the Snow Front stamp set were stamped in 3rd generation Highland Heather ink for a subtle background.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop
Using a piece of copy paper, I tore a wavy edge and used one of the new Blending Brushes to add a little Balmy Blue ink onto the stamped piece, creating layers of snow banks.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop
The cottage was then stamped in Soft Suede ink. I added a variety of trees from the same stamp set in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Shaded Spruce ink to add some depth to the image. The icy path was added in Balmy Blue ink and the sweet pair of deer in Soft Suede, aren’t they adorable.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In the Bleak Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop
Taking a Post It Note I punched out a ¾” circle, added it to the top of the image and used the Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to give the illusion of a winter sky. I added a little Misty Moonlight around the top to give some depth. To add to the illusion of icy conditions I sprayed the stamped panel with Frost White Shimmer Spray.
Midwinter carol inspires an icy Christmas card for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop
The finished piece was added to the Shaded Spruce panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, then added to the card front on Dimensionals.
I think this is so pretty but if I am honest doesn’t look all that bleak…….. What do you think?
Please hop on to see what the lovely Jill Chapman has to share with us.
Here is an adorable Christmas card made using the Coming Home stamp set and some non traditional colours.
To recreate the Coming Home card you will need:
Purple Posy card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” Smoky Slate – 5½” by 3¾” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2 Scrap Whisper White
I stamped one of the sweet houses and a large and small pine tree from the Coming Home stamp set in Smoky Slate ink onto scrap Whisper White card and used the Blends Markers to colour them in.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Coming Home Stamp set and non traditional colours
I die cut the coloured house and trees using the Homecoming Dies and my Cut & Emboss Machine. I also die cut 4 more of the same house from scrap Whisper White card.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Coming Home Stamp set and non traditional colours
Using a sponge I added Pool Party ink to one of the 5⅜” by 3⅝” panels of Whisper White and stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set at the bottom of the panel In Smoky Slate ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Coming Home Stamp set and non traditional colours
The white houses were glued across the inked panel and I trimmed off the excess with scissors. I stamped some snowflakes in Pool Party ink before adding the coloured house and the trees to the panel on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty Christmas card made using the Coming Home Stamp set and non traditional colours
Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive I glued the decorated panel to the Smoky Slate layer, then to the Purple Posy card front and added a scattering of Adhesive Backed Sequins to create the card.

I love a poinsettia plant, they add such a bright splash of colour in the dull Winter days. I know poinsettia’s are usually red, pink, cream or white but having done a quick Google search I came across a blue poinsettia plant……… I know …… Still I decided to run with it and have created a Peacock Poinsettia Christmas card.
To recreate the Peacock Poinsettia card you will need:
Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Whisper White – 5⅞” by 2⅜” Silver Foil – 5⅞” by ½” Whisper White – 4⅛” by ¾” Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside
