A monochromatic Christmas card made using the Shepherd's Card stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Sounds of the Season – Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we are being inspired by the sounds of the season. I have been inspired by the Christmas carol – Oh, little Town of Bethlehem – and have made an essentially monochromatic card using the Shepherd’s Care stamp set.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the sounds of the season card, you will need:

Basic Beige card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Gold Foil – 5½” by 3¾”
Early Espresso card – 5¼” by 3½”
Season of Elegance dsp – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

The image of the shepherd with lambs was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto the panel of Season of Elegance dsp. I added the village using the same ink.

The large star was stamped using Versamark ink above the village image. I covered it with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it.

I used the Ivory and Crumb Cake Blends Pens to colour in the shepherd’s head dress and added a little Boho Blue to colour the belt and the head band.

The coloured dsp was glued to the Early Espresso layer and then to the Gold Foil panel.

The whole panel was then added to the Basic Beige card front. On looking at the card again it would also work for – While Shepherd’s watch their Folks By Night.

Please hop on to share the seasonal inspiration provided by my crafty friends. Next up is the lovely Leonie Stuart

Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Balmy Blue card

I embossed the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Balmy Blue card using the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder. The embossed piece was then glued to the 5⅜” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White card and then I added it to the Balmy Blue card front on Dimensionals.

Using the Snowy Wonder Dies, I die cut the ‘globe’ from the 3¾” by 3½” piece of Basic White card.

The pair of houses were stamped in Pebbled Path ink onto the die cut globe. I added the falling snow in Balmy Blue ink. I used a Blending Brush to add Balmy Blue ink around the edge of the globe.

The houses were coloured using the following Blends Pens – Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, Real Red, Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam & Pebbled Path. The coloured globe was then added to the Pebbled Path base before both pieces were mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas was stamped in Pebbled Path ink onto a scrap of Balmy Blue card. I masked of the words I didn’t want using Masking Paper. I cut the sentiment down adding it to the card front.
