Today I am sharing a card made for the Cas Colours and Sketches #315 Challenge using the Tropical Chic stamp set. The time it is a colour challenge and the colours are not ones I would normally put together. Here is what I came up with;
I am delighted to say this card was chosen as one of the weekly winners.
Making the Tropical Chic card
You will need;
Thick Whisper White card base – rounded upper left corner
Gorgeous Grape – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corner
Grapefruit Grove – ¾” by ¼”
Scraps of Whisper White
I began by inking up the large fern leaf from the Tropical Chic stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink and randomly stamping the image onto the panel of Whisper White cardstock.
I inked up the palm leaf in Gorgeous Grape ink and again stamped it randomly onto the same panel.
The flowers were stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and die cut them out using my Big Shot and the Tropical Thinlits dies.
The sentiment was stamped in the Gorgeous Grape ink and the flowers added on Dimensionals. The stamped layer was added to the panel of Gorgeous Grape with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was then attached to the Thick Whisper White card base using the same glue. I added a few of the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots to finish the card.
I stamped both leaves and a flower onto the inside of the card and the envelope.
I was a bit dubious about this colour combo but have to say I have been converted. I really like this card.
