A pretty card made for the Stamping Inkspirations Tic Tac Toe challenge using the Poised Peony stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Yellow Peony card – Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we are creating projects inspired by a Tic, Tac, Toe board. I have chosen the diagonal line, texture, fun and yellow to make my card along with the Poised Peony stamp set.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the yellow peony card, you will need

Daffodil Delight card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅝” by 3⅝”
Lemon Lolly card – 5 ½” by 1⅛” x 3
Old Olive card – 4⅛” by 2⅜”
Basic White card – 4” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

Using the gorgeous new Dotted Circles Embossing Folder, I embossed the three strips of Lemon Lolly card and glued them to the 5⅝” by 3⅝” piece of Basic White card. This was then adhered to the Daffodil Delight card base.

The flower was coloured using my Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly Blends Pens and the leaves with Old Olive Blends Pens. I adhered the coloured panel to the Old Olive layer.

I wrapped a length of Lemon Lolly Twine around the piece and secured it on the back with Sellotape. The panel was then mounted, offset, onto the card front on Dimensionals. By offsetting it, it gives a more playful, fun effect to the card.

A vintage paintbrush themed card made for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop using the Trusty Tools stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Rustic Tools card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing ‘Vintage’ style projects. I have interpreted this as shabby chic, a style of cardmaking I really struggle with….. I have chosen to use the Trusty Toolbox stamp set to make my rustic tools card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the rustic tools card, you will need:

Copper Clay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Beige card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Basic Beige card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Scrap Basic Beige card

I began by stamping the outline of 3 paintbrushes in Early Espresso ink onto the smaller panel of Basic Beige card. Colour was added to the handle of each brush and the tip of the bristles using, firstly Wild Wheat ink, then Pecan Pie ink and finally Copper Clay ink. I swiped the matching colour below the bristles using the edge of each ink pad.

www.crafty-rootes.com – The Trusty Tools stamp set used to make a vintage paintbrush card for a vintage themed card Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Using Blending Brushes I inked, with all three colours, around the edges of the panel. I the tore along the bottom and inked the ragged edge to match. I randomly stamped the dotty image, from the Country Birdhouse stamp set, in all three colours. I used a Bone Folder in the upper left corner to breakdown the fibres and separate the layers of the cardstock. I inked the corner to match. The whole panel was the adhered to one of the larger Basic Beige panels which had the bottom edge torn.
