A lovely Spring wreath card made using the Bitty Blooms Punch pack set from Stampin' Up!

Goodbye to the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack – Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where our theme this month is ‘goodbye to the 2018 – 2019 catalogue’. If you have joined me from the talented Laura Mackie’s blog, welcome, I am sure you loved her project. I had real difficulty with this theme as there are so many lovely things retiring that it was hard to make a choice. Eventually I went with the lovely little Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. I was delighted to see them in the Spring/Summer catalogue as I have really missed tiny flowers and I am gutted to see them going so soon. I have also used a lot of other retiring products to make this card; in fact I think the only thing I have used that is carrying over, other than the cardstock is the Sprig Punch.

To recreate the Bitty Blooms card you will need;

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Early Espresso cardstock 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 3 – 1 for the inside, 1 for the outside
Scrap Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Pear Pizzazz and Basic Gray
Scrap Wood Textures dsp – Retiring

I used the retiring Swirly Scribbles dies and the Big Shot to die cut the open swirly circle from the Wood Textures designer series paper. I cut three circles and glued them together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to give a bit of dimension. The piece was then added to one of the Whisper White layers using the same glue.

I stamped the image from the Beach Happy stamp set in Early Espresso ink.

Using all of the Bitty Blooms Punches and the scrap coloured cardstock I punched out a selection of flowers, leaves and flower centres. I also used the Sprig Punch to get some groups of leaves. I added a little dimension to each flower by curling the petals with my Bone Folder.

Mini Glue dots were used to make up the flowers and to attach the leaves and they were then added to the scribbled circle with Mini Glue Dots. The Glue dots give just that little bit of dimension without raising the little flowers up too high.

A lovely Spring wreath card made using the Bitty Blooms Punch pack set from Stampin' Up!

The inside panel was stamped with some of the small flowers from the co-ordinating Bloom by Bloom stamp set in Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather inks. The same colours and images were used to decorate the front of the envelope. I added a trio of Glitter Enamel Dots to complete the card. I love the Spring colour palette of this card. I hope you like it.

Baby Wipe Technique for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Stampers Showcase blog hop where our theme this month is Spring/Floral. If you have joined me from Mikaela‘s blog then welcome. I have chosen to use the Baby Wipe Technique with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and some bright, rich colours.

To recreate the Beautiful Promenade card you will need;

Poppy Parade card base 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Gorgeous Grape cardstock 5½” by 3 ¾”
Very Vanilla cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Vellum 6” by 1½”
Scrap Gorgeous Grape cardstock for die-cutting
C6 Very Vanilla Envelope

The Baby Wipe Technique used with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Promenade stamp set used with the Baby Wipe Technique for the April Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

I have hardly used this gorgeous stamp set, I am so glad it is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue. I wanted to try out the baby wipe technique and thought this set might work well with the technique.

Poppy Parade card base 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner Gorgeous Grape cardstock 5½” by 3 ¾” Very Vanilla cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” Vellum 6” by 1½” Scrap Gorgeous Grape cardstock for die-cutting

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Promenade stamp set used with the Baby Wipe Technique for the April Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

I began by folding a single baby wipe into a square and placing it in an empty clear mount stamp case. I took the Daffodil Delight re-inker and dropped about 12 – 15 drops randomly onto the baby wipe. I repeated this with the Poppy Parade re-inker and finally with Gorgeous Grape re-inker. The dots of ink should spread and merge together with no un-inked areas

I inked the outline flower stamp on my hand made ink pad and randomly stamped the image onto the Very Vanilla panel. I loved the effect of the multicolour flowers. The stamped layer was then added to the Gorgeous Grape panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I wrapped the strip of Vellum around the stamped panel and adhered it on the back with Sellotape. The whole piece was then glued to the Poppy Parade card front.

I die cut the word ‘birthday’ 3 times from scrap Gorgeous Grape cardstock and adhered the words one on top of the other using Multipurpose liquid Adhesive, this gives great dimension to the word.

The Baby Wipe Technique used with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Beautiful Promenade stamp set used with the Baby Wipe Technique for the April Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

I swiped the  Embossing Buddy over the vellum then stamped the word ‘wishes’ in Poppy Parade ink covered it with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. The die cut ‘birthday’ was added on top with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used a Mini Glue Dot tucked under the ‘birthday’ to hold the vellum layer down.

I love, love this card, hoping you like it as well.

I laid the stamped piece onto the card front and felt it needed a little something extra. After a bit of thought I stamped a scatter of tiny flowers from the stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink.

The rectangle panel was then added to the card front on Dimensionals and a scattering of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls added a little hint of luxury.

Fable Friends Easter Stamp ‘n Hop

Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamp ‘n hop Blog Hop where the theme is Easter. If you have joined me from the lovely Sandra then welcome, my name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. I hope you enjoy my project.

Making the Easter card

I started by taking a piece of Window Sheet about 5 ½” by 3 ¾” and ran it through the Big Shot with the large die from the Doily Builder Die set.  This effectively created a stencil for me to use to make the background of the card.

A Peter Rabbit Easter card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop challenge

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Easter Challenge using Fable Friends

I laid the stencil onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 5⅛” by 3⅜” and holding it firmly in place I inked it up using So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo and Grapefruit Grove inks applied using  Sponge Daubers. I rounded the upper right corner using the Detailed Trio Punch and added the inked piece to a panel of So Saffron cardstock with the same corner rounded using Multipurpose liquid Adhesive.

I then stamped the cute little Peter Rabbit image in Gray Granite ink onto a scrap piece of Watercolor Paper and die cut it out using the Stitched Shapes framelits and my Big Shot. I used Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo inks and an Aqua Painter to paint the rabbit.

The oval topper piece was added to the panel, over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals and a bow of the same ribbon added with a Mini Glue Dot. The sentiment was added to the card front with Flirty Flamingo ink. The whole panel was then added to a Crumb Cake card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I finished off by adding a trio of Share What You love Artisan Pearls.

A sweet card made using the Piece of Cake stamp set and co-ordinating Cake Builder Punch

Wedding Cake for the Stampin ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to February’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where this month’s theme is Love.  If you have hopped over form Andre Gordon’s blog I am sure you loved his gorgeous project. I decided to use the gorgeous Piece of Cake stamp set and co-ordinating Cake Builder Punch to make a wedding cake card for the daughter of a friend who is marrying in the spring.

Making the card

I started by stamping the floral cake image, so pretty, in Early Espresso ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Cake Builder Punch. I coloured the flowers in using the Lovely Lipstick Combo Blends Pens, Call Me Clover Combo Blends Pens, dark Balmy Blue blend Pen and the Light Daffodil Delight Blend Pen.

A sweet card made using the Piece of Cake stamp set and co-ordinating Cake Builder Punch

I punched the cake stand out from some of the gorgeous Lovely Lipstick Foil which is one of the free Sale-a-Bration items you can choose with a £45 order. I stuck the cake to the stand with a dimensional where they joined at the back and added a couple more dimensionals to support the cake and stand.

Taking a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4¾” by 3”. I mounted the smaller of the 2 Bokeh Dot stamps from the Beauty Abounds stamp set. I inked it up in Lovely Lipstick ink, stamped off twice and stamped it onto the lower right hand corner of the panel. I repeated this twice more before inked up with Call Me Clover then Balmy Blue stamping each off twice.

I stamped the sentiment from the Piece of Cake stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink in the lower left hand corner. The cake and stand was then added over the bokeh dots on the dimensionals.

The Whisper White stamped layer was the added to a piece of Lovely Lipstick Foil 5” by 1½” using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a length of Lovely Lipstick ⅛” Grosgrain Ribbon around the top of the panel, securing it on the back with Sellotape. I added a bow made from the same ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot. The whole panel was then added to a Thick Whisper White card base with Dimensionals.

I coloured in 3 Basic Pearls using the dark Call Me Clover, dark Lovely lipstick and dark Balmy Blue Blends Pen before scattering them around the cake and stand.

I love this card, such pretty colours. I hope you like it..

Jan 2019 Stamp 'N Hop blog hop using the Lovely Lattice stamp set

Lovely Lattice used for the Stamp’N Hop blog hop

Hello and welcome to January’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where this month’s theme is Sale-a-Bration.  I love, love, love Sale-a-Bration……free stuff….oh yes bring it on and such great stuff as well.

If you have hopped over from Vicki Hunter  I am sure you enjoyed the project she shared as much as I did. After a lot of deliberation I have chosen to use the stunning stamp set called Lovely Lattice to make my card as I love the versatility of this set.

 Making the card

I started with a panel of Watercolor Paper measuring 5¼” by 3½” and stamped the large gorgeous image from the Lovely Lattice stamp set in Versamark ink and yes I did remember to use my embossing buddy, whoop whoop. I covered the panel with White embossing powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool.

Jan 2019 Stamp 'N Hop blog hop using the Lovely Lattice stamp set

ww.crafty-rootes.com – Lovely Lattice stamp set used for the Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop

I wanted to watercolor this image and find the easiest way to do this is to use my ink pad to press some ink onto a clear block and colour with an Aquapainter. I used Coastal Cabana for the flowers, starting with a light touch and adding more layers of colour to give depth and dimension. The flower centres were coloured using So Saffron ink and Granny Apple Green was used for the leaves. I added Smoky Slate around the whole image to ground it and also coloured the lattice area with the Smoky Slate again adding depth by layering up the colour.

The sentiment from the Amazing life stamp set was stamped in Versamark onto a scrap of Basic Gray cardstock, covered in White embossing powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the upper left and lower right corner of the stamped layer and a layer of So Saffron measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” and a layer of Coastal Cabana measuring 5⅝” by 3⅞” and adhered the layers together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The finished topper was then added to a Smoky Slate card base and the sentiment was added using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To finish the card I added a scatter of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

I absolutely love this card, the soft colours work so well with this image. Please hop along to see what the lovely Susan Simpson is sharing with us today.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

Bloom by Bloom

Hello and welcome to December’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where the theme this month is our favourite from the upcoming Spring/Summer catalogue.  My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK.  I have chosen to use the stunning stamp set called Bloom by Bloom to make my card. I love all the bold floral images in this set and chose to stamp with some bright Spring like colours.

Making the card

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4⅞” by 3½”. I die cut a circle from the Layering Circles Framelit Dies, placed it on the Whisper White layer partially hanging off and lightly drew round it to help with the placement of the flowers.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bloom By Bloom stamp set used for the December Stamp ‘N hop blog hop

I stamped the leaves and flowers starting with the largest images and ending with the smallest one which were used to infill. I used Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana & Blueberry Bushel inks for the stamping. I added the stamped panel to a Flirty Flamingo panel 4” by 3⅝” having rounded the upper left corner of both panels. I erased the light pencil drawn circle.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bloom By Bloom stamp set used for the December Stamp ‘N hop blog hop

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Life stamp set in Granny Apple Green onto the die cut Whisper White circle. I used a couple of the small flowers to decorate the circle before adding it to a slightly larger Blueberry Bushel scalloped circle die cut using the same die set. I trimmed off the right side of the circle with my Trimmer and added it to the stamped layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Bloom By Bloom stamp set and Spring colours used for the December Stamp 'N hop blog hop

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bloom By Bloom stamp set used for the December Stamp ‘N hop blog hop

I took a Thick Whisper White card base and placed a large scrap of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and tilted it at an angle until it looked right, I turned the card over and trimmed off the excess. The Blueberry Bushel was then added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the stamped panel added on top with the same glue. To finish off the card I added a scattering of Basic Rhinestones.

Such a pretty card, I am really happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it.

Hello and welcome to November’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop. My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. If you have hopped on from Karen Watts I am sure you enjoyed her project. This month we are CASEing (either copy and share everything or copy and selectively edit) the Annual Catalogue and I had such a hard job choosing a project to make. In the end I went for a sweet card using the Apron of Love stamp set on page 61 of the catalogue but changed it up a little.

I started by stamping the apron image in Soft Sea Foam ink onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock and die cutting it using the Apron Builder dies. I also die cut the neck band, apron strings and pocket form the Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I adhered them together using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I then stamped some of the smaller images from the set randomly across the front of a Thick Whisper White card base in Highland Heather ink, Flirty Flamingo ink and Coastal Cabana ink. I die cut the hearts in Flirty Flamingo cardstock, the scissors in Highland Heather cardstock and the sweet little bows in Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Stamp ‘N Hop – Garden Impressions

Stamp 'N Hop blog hop by Mo Rootes

Welcome to this month’s Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop, if you have hopped over from Jenn Charles I am sure you love her gorgeous projects. My name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK and you are very welcome to my blog where the theme of this month’s hop is our favourite new Designer Series Paper (dsp). I love dsp but have struggled in the past to cut into it……..it is so pretty…….what’s a girl to do!

However, since I began offering my ladies a regular Stamp-a-Stack option with projects based around a pack of dsp, I have had to start cutting into my lovely stash and I am so happy I did. I love the dimension these gorgeous papers add to the cards I design and my ladies also love them.

For today’s projects I have chosen to use the vibrant and so summery Garden Impressions dsp . I love the bright and cheerful floral patterns in this pack.

The card

For my card today I chose one of my favourite papers and cut a panel of dsp measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝”. I adhered it to a layer of Whisper White cardstock 5 ½” by 3 ¾” using Multipurpose adhesive. This panel was then added to the front of a So saffron card base using the same adhesive.

Taking a strip of So Saffron cardstock 5⅞” by ¼”and a Night of Navy ink pad and stamped the sentiment, chosen from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set all the way across. This strip was then adhered to the card front using the Multipurpose liquid adhesive.

I die cut a gorgeous dragonfly from Whisper White cardstock using my Big shot and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Using my Bone Folder I curled the wings to give some dimension to the card and adhered it to the card front using 3 Mini Glue Dots on the body. To give a little sparkle I added 2 gold Faceted Dots to the dragonfly body.

The Envelope Punch Board Treat Box

I then made a small box to match using my Envelope Punch Board. I started with a 6” by 6” piece of dsp and punched and scored it at 3½” and 3¼” then rotated the dsp 90⁰ and lined up the pointer with the score lines punching and scoring all the way around.

I cut up each of the 4 small tabs using my sharp Paper Snips, taking a small wedge from each side to ensure that the box would close neatly. After folding and burnishing all the score lines with my Bone Folder I applied a glue dot to 2 of the tabs and folded them in to close the sides and back of the box. I will close the top flap with a glue dot when I have added my gift.

I die cut another dragonfly from Whisper White cardstock using the Detailed dragonfly Thinlit dies and added it to the front of the box using Mini Glue Dots. I stamped the same sentiment onto a small strip of So saffron cardstock in Night of Navy ink and tucked it under the dragonfly body after flagging one end. I added 2 Facet Dots to the dragonfly body and the project was finished.
