A floral birthday card using the Beautiful Bouquet and Perennial Birthday stamp sets by Stampin' Up!

Goodbye to the 2019 – 2020 catalogue

Hello and welcome to the May Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where our theme is ‘Goodbye to the 2019 – 2020 Catalogue’.  If you have joined me from the lovely Libby Dyson, I am sure you loved her project.

There are so many lovely things which are retiring that I was spoilt for choice. In fact everything I have used will be retiring from the catalogue with the exception of the Whisper White card stock!

To recreate the Goodbye to the 2019 – 2020 Catalogue card you will need:

Grapefruit Grove card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Blueberry Bushel – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner – one for the inside
Blueberry Bushel – 5” by 1⅛”
Whisper White – 5” by 1”

I began by stamping the sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink. I love the size and the font of this Happy Birthday, I will miss it. I placed the stamped sentiment strip at an angle onto one of the larger Whisper White panels and lightly drew down each side in pencil to give me a guide to where I should stamp my flowers.

I removed the sentiment piece and glued it to the thin strip of Blueberry Bushel card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and set it to one side.

With this type of masked card I also start by stamping the largest images and working may way down to the smallest images which I use to fill in. I used the 5 retiring 2018 – 2020 In Colors to stamp my images – they were stamped in this order Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel. I used the gorgeous Beautiful Bouquet set for this part of the card. I am so going to miss this set, love all the flowers and the huge number of great sentiments.

The stamped layer was then added to the Blueberry Bushel layer with the same liquid adhesive. The whole panel was then added to the Grapefruit Grove card base with the same glue.

I erased the pencil lines and added the sentiment strip onto the card front using Dimensionals. T complete the card I added a scattering of the pretty Happiness Blooms Enamel dots which are also retiring.

CASE from Pinterest

Welcome to the April Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘CASE from Pinterest’. If you have joined me from Annette welcome, I am sure you enjoyed her lovely project.

To recreate the CASE from Pinterest card you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Flirty Flamingo – 5½” by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 3
Scrap Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam & Soft Suede

I began by taking the ‘smudge’ stamp, inking it up with Flirty Flamingo ink and stamping it randomly across one of the Whisper White panels. This step was repeated using So Saffron ink and Petal Pink ink until the whole layer was covered in ink.

I mounted the White die cut flower outline onto the White flower blank with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and carefully fitted in the inked die cut pieces. If you have joined me from Rachel Macleod, welcome and I am sure you loved her project, I am Mo Rootes and I live just outside Cambridge in the UK. I have chosen to use feature paper piecing with a little bit of simple masking using the Beautiful Moments stamp set.

I ran the smaller Whisper White panel through the gorgeous new Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and adhered it to the larger Flirty Flamingo layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This panel was glued to the Blackberry Bliss card base with the same adhesive.

New Year card for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the December Stamper’s Showcase blog hop where our theme this month is ‘It’s time to Celebrate’. My name is Mo Rootes and I am from Cambridge in the UK and I very much hope you will vist all the other talented blog hoppers this month.

I have chosen to make a card to celebrate the New Year and as a proud Scot I couldn’t resist adding some tartan for Hogmany.

To recreate the It’s Time to Celebrate card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Wrapped in Plaid dsp – 5⅞” by 4⅛”
Whisper White – 4⅛” by 2⅞”
Gold Foil – 4⅛” by ¼” x 2
Whisper White – 4⅛” by ¼” x 2
Whisper White scrap

I inked up the dandelion image in Versamark ink and stamped it twice on the strip of Whisper White card stock – having first used the embossing buddy to remove static, covered it Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with my Heat Tool.

I used Sponge Daubers to add Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry ink to the ‘fireworks’ and then added the blue night sky using Night of Navy ink.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive I glued a strip of Gold Foil to the top and bottom of the embossed panel. I then added the thin strips of Whisper White to the top and bottom.
